  1. Pitiful Stuart. Utterly and truly. You’re contempt for St Mirren and Jack Ross knows no bounds with that inaccurate and unfair comparison. It’s Unfortunate you were clearly talking nonsense about only commenting on the SMISA thread with this new username. I suppose no one believed that from the start anyway.
  2. Insisted on Fowler coming over, I don’t see anyone coming in that Ross doesn’t want to coach the team he manages. That’s the rightful approach as well. Not sure why you hold these other people bringing in staff in higher regards that Jack ross. Do you know their history as well as you know Jack Ross’?
  3. There was an interview last season saying we couldn’t compete with what Falkirk and Dunfermline were paying their players. Falkirk also came out and said they were given a bigger budget than previous seasons to go for it. I never seen davids interview, but I’d be surprised if he said that or was actually fully aware of the finances.
  4. What do you base him being the wrong choice on? Simply because of the size of the club which is something unproven. Not in his remarkable turnaround in a very short period of time. Not on him schooling managers in the Championship with much more experience not on him running away with a league where he had the 5th biggest budget not on his player recruitment (okay they weren’t all winners but there isn’t a manager who has all winners. Plus the number of new recruits, bearing in mind football is an 11 player sport, there was an expectation players wouldn’t make it) two MOTY awards several MOTM awards. His professionalism, enthusiasm, ambition. Seems like you have a lot to be positive about his chances of doing well are but have zeroed in on very weak arguments for him not being the right choice. In the size of Sunderland and that he’s not Alex Ferguson...
  5. I think thats a bit of nit picking if I’m honest Stuart. When I talk about his responsibilities I mean around footballing appointments. players, coaching staff, the same as you’d expect from any manager. To say the chairman will hire an adviser and I imagine you mean put together some executives and directors no doubt. That’s not something that is any new managers responsibility from what I can see.
  6. Did you really expect anymore in the short time he was here that saving us from relegation then immediately getting us promotion? And people say you’re never happy... we also had a smaller budget than four teams. Falkirk, ICT, Dunfermline and United. He won the league by 12 points with an average budget. Not sure if that’s what you’re eluding to or that after league 1, he doesn’t have the ability to be a quality championship/ EPL manager. Again it would be a negative assumption.
  7. It’s strange because your opinion seems to vary from the majority of Sunderland fans that don’t also support St Mirren and overwhelmingly from St Mirren fans. It’s a staple negative approach. And let’s be honest given your history on here, negativity is kinda your go to.
  8. Donald is the chairman. Of course he’s going to deal with an aspect of background staff. I couldn’t name a manager that has come in and had the say on people like directors of football, advisers, background staff at that level. I don’t know why you were even worried about any aspect of that because it doesn’t really happen unless it’s maybe a manager that’s been in a job years and year. Ross like most managers will have power over all player acquisitions and coaching staff like Fowler. He may be advised on it but from all communications he has no less or no more power than most manager that’ll take a job this summer. I doubt our new manager could come in and say ‘get rid of Tony for example’ Really struggling with what your point is here and what you thought Ross might be coming in to do and what you now think he’s doing. Again it’s curious wording that you’re ‘happy’ in your head Jack Ross has less power than you thought. Can tell you really aren’t a fan at all.
  9. No one said or hinted that Jack ross would be the Under 18s and Woman’s manager. There is no professional team in England where that’s a thing. What you said previously and what you’re saying now/ that article & video says isn’t the same thing. Theres a difference between a first team coach and a football manager (and the difference isn’t managing the under 21 woman’s team) you said Jack Ross would likely be more of a first team coach and the other guy will deal with football matters. Everything to come from Sunderland says he’ll be the manager and will have power over first team football matters (who comes in who goes out). That’s what a football manager is. If you meant as in he wouldn’t be the one picking the U18s, U15s and taking the training for the ladies team, that’s not something you made clear in the slightest haha i just seen the bottom bit about recruitment. I know you don’t seem to like it but it looks 100% accurate that Jack Ross has the control over recruitment. Advisors don’t have control over recruitment... they may advise on it but not control it. Clues kinda in the job title.
  10. Also not necessarily a bad thing, seems like bad is your automatic assumption. Also that reasoning can be applied to any in job manager on the planet. Again it’s strange there is an element of negativity to a manager that we owe a great deal of thanks to.
  11. Sunderland have came out clearly stating Jack Ross will have full responsibility for all transfer matters in and out. Jack Ross has also been given assurances he’d get at least a season so there is zero suggestion he’d only be first team coach. Every communication is ‘Sunderland manager’ clubs usually highlight when the role is more ‘head coach’ or ‘first team coach’ I would be very surprised (as it would mean direct lies from Sunderland chairman) if Jack Ross had anymore diminished responsibilities than he’s had here or any other football manager for that fact. I’m really baffled to how you’ve went from he’s got an ‘adviser role’ to him having roles of actual responsibility. It’s a complete contradiction. Maybe more wishful thinking given your negative attitude to Ross?
  12. All three have good manager qualities but equally they all have negative aspects and have failed at managerial jobs (which Jack Ross hasn’t) before. I just find it so curious that a St Mirren fan can be so pessimistic about Jack Ross, given the amazing turnaround in such a short period of time but talk up managers with no association to us. Even one that’s failed to keep them up last season. Big Sam is also not exactly known for flowing football.
  13. There was never any ‘need’ to touch the ring fence, it was always a choice
  14. You haven’t ‘supported’ St Mirren in any way, shape or form from what I’ve seen my whole time on this forum. I’ve seen no evidence you’ve wanted Jack Ross to be a success or thought that Jack Ross has been a success in the last 18 months. I choose to believe it based on what we’ve been told. You choose negativity every single time with little to no evidence. Completely bitter to the core. Not like you haven’t got a reputation for it. Or accept information that doesn’t fit with your agenda. Like saying I’m on the SMISA committee even after me categorically telling you I wasn’t several times... at least you weren’t alone with that nonsense.
  15. Who would you of rather had for their job (from their perspective)
  16. Jack played much better football than most at our level. Top scorers, some class goals and attacking football. It’s not going to be Barca standard every week. question what is the issue with JR? Is it same for you as for LPM. I don’t understand the negativity at all, although it does seem just like your mindsets IMO
  17. Youre really clutching at straws aren’t you. The official statement is wrong because... I say it’s wrong hahaha. Okay we all know you must be hurting because of your dislike for Jack Ross and your want for him to fail and your posts about him not being good enough. We know you’re a bitter Wee article but it’s done now. Need to move on. People on here adamant Jack wouldn’t be wanted by big English clubs have been proven wrong. A club that can take 40k fans and easily EPL potential have taken our manager it’s done.
  18. From what I can tell a ‘superfan’ Is someone that supports st Mirren but doesn’t automatically assume the absolute worst about club, management and players.
  19. Yeah cause that happens all the time, clubs come out and list who’s rejected them officially right before they negotiate with a manager. Gets a real sense of want. Its funny how you demand evidence for positives but negatives can be assumptions. Where’s your evidence that he hasn’t been offered? A comment from their chairman about 10 days ago? Yeah that wouldn’t change with another clubs interest. Haha baffling. Ross withdrew from the Barnsley job after being approached. It’s the definition of rejection, you really struggle with being wrong don’t you? Think you’d be used to it by now.
  20. Offical statement from his new employers, several news sources and journalists reporting the same but no evidence? okay Remind me again your evidence for saying SMISA and St Mirren were breaking the law? How about your evidence JR was an Ipswich fluffer? Do you have evidence he wasn't offered because that's what you've been suggesting all along and seems like much stronger evidence he was...
  21. He 'rejected' the approach by ruling himself out. No one can deny that. If I go for a job interview then phone them before they've made a choice 'I'm rejecting' the chance to get that job. He went, had the interview, heard their side and decided it wasn't for them before they decided to offer or not. clutching at straws much? As for Ipswich, several news outlets, journalists are saying he turned it down. Sunderland themselves have friggin said in an offical statement he rejected plural higher division clubs! What more evidence do you want? What do they gain from saying something that's not true? From someone that so easily claims illegal activity from St Mirren and SMISA with zero evidence, you don't half take a lot of convincing for a story that actually has evidence And Ipswich, I suppose it was impossible the club panicked when they seen the Sunderland story they'd lose Jack Ross and went in with an offer? No way that could happen?
  22. Stuart I'm sorry but that comment is unreal Do you think it adds any additional value telling fibs that Ipswich and Barnsely wanted him if not true haha? You've (as usual) zoomed in on the negatives. It would be like saying Alex Ferguson lost his first game and didn't win until the third attempt at Man U and got sacked by St Mirren. Might be factual but not in the slightest relevant in his career, same as the other facts aren't relevant in summing up the kind of managemnt potential Jack Ross has. Two manager of the year awards - fact Several manager of the month awards - fact Took a club that was adrift at Championship by a good bit to safety - fact Won the Championship in Scotland the very next season by 12 points - fact Clean sheets, goals scored, goal difference, all positives they could use. But no they have to boost it with Barnsley and Ipswich fake news? Sorry not buying that. We can only go on the offical statement and as far as club official statements go, I would be massively surprised if it wasn't true. In fact looking at twitter, several news stories are confirming Jack Ross turned down Ipswich as their ambition didn't match Sunderland in his opinion.
  23. I'd take Hopkin over those three that's for sure. I do think he's getting a bit of a hard time, have to say. People saying anti-football, could also say effective football. Do I think Livi would be an SP club right now if they had went out to play with the ball on the deck? Absolutely not. People forget (or don't know) he had Livi storming L1 last year, I seen a few of their games and the football was really good. Scoring goals, tight at the back and won at a canter. So for me it doesn't tell me he just plays anti-football. It tells me he's very adaptave and has the capability to read opponenets and set a team up in a way that will win or at least frustrate. Is that a desire I'd want in a manager? 100% I would be happy with him coming in, far as I can tell he's one of only two applicants that has never been sacked from a manager job.
  24. I think they're taking pleasure in the fact he was wrong... He'd admit himself he's stubborn as a mule on his viewpoints (like yourself) and also like yourself he's often wrong, but is too pig headed to backdown. Maybe just enjoying something he wholeheartedly must put his hands up to being wrong about... Maybe even same as you in the 'fluffer' comments after Sunderland confirmed he rejected offer(s) from ths English Championship.
