Some years ago now the boxing gym on the top floor of the Paisley YMCA was run by a guy called Norrie Sweeney. Norrie had a picture of Walter McGowan on the wall and he used to wax lyrical about Walter's hand speed. Norrie dedicated his life to boxing and literally knew everythng there was to know about the sport. If Norrie said it then it was bloody well true, bloddy well true indeed. Well rest in peace Walter.
