I have bored everyone on here before with the tale about my first ever Saints game - a 7 goal hammering in November 1962 at Love Street in the plssing rain. It took a while, and even though we have beaten them a few times in the 60 odd years since, yesterday provided such sweet revenge for that first painful experience of being a Saints fan.
Only moved back to Paisley 10 days ago so I was able to hang about to enjoy the celebrations in the town afterwards too. Brilliant day, brilliant team, brilliant manager and brilliant fans.
Just returned home (not a Paisley resident anymore) and I don’t know where to start with that day. I was lucky enough to watch with my son, brother and best mate.
Support was immense, team were immense and the Manager is now the best we’ve ever had.
What a time to be a Saint!!
Delighted that Kevin Clancy contributed with an assist for Saints when he inexplicably ignored McGregor's barge into the back of Keanu Baccus at the edge of the box. I was screaming blue murder it was such a clear foul in a really dangerous spot.
HOWEVER the re-won and recycled ball ended up on big Ayunga's noggin so ...I'm not one for profanities but ...Get It Right Up Him if he was trying to save his team from defending a dangerous free kick, we'd probably done nothing from it. That's what you get matey!
