Have you maybe left a floppy disk or CD in the drives? It could be trying to boot from there. If not, you almost certainly have a fúcked hard disk

Two questions - do you have SP2 installed? And how fast is your connection? If you don't have SP2 installed, Microsoft Update will be downloading it and it's fecking huge. If you have a slow connection it will download it a bit at a time until you have all of it on your hard disk then it will install it. Other than that, it's a Spanish footballer (Fúcktifano)

By the way, if you can prove it's the NTL nameservers or routers, get onto their customer support and kick up fúck. You'll get a couple of months free broadband out of them. Well, it worked for me

I had a similar problem ages ago. It turned out to be a prblem with the local nameserver. The bad news is, NTL technical support hadn't a fúckin clue what was wrong or how to fix it. It just gradually came back all by itself.
