Another chance to go 5th tonight - provided Hibmirren succumb to Celtic at Easter Road.

We had belief for the first half hour or so and then the Scottish syndrome kicked in - ie. 'who are we to be taking the game to the bigots?' More or less every other country in Europe seem to be able to compete successfully with them for the whole match instead of 'sitting in and keeping our shape'. Neither of the bigot sisters are as good as the biased Scottish press make them out to be. How adopting a defensive formation is seen as a sensible ploy against ordinary opposition beats me. We are only handing the initiative to them time after time. For years it has been the same failing for our international team although there are now signs that that is starting to change. Give me 'offensive' as against 'defensive' every time and not just for the first half hour or so. And that does not necessarily mean going gung ho and leaving ourselves wide open at the back - most other European countries manage to find the right balance.

After this afternoon's results, a home win for us tomorrow would see us jump to 5th in the league.

After the earlier results this afternoon - a draw in the 6pm kick off will suit us best.

A good battling performance in the second half. Pity about the 'slow' start to the season - especially the collapse against Celtic. When playing to form, we're not far behind any team above us - if that makes sense!

The whole team is playing well today - we have no passengers. Erahon and Powers are controlling the midfield. And Brophy's goal was something really special.

In our red 'away' strip again today. Why? Our traditional black & white stripes shirt would be a better contrast to Livi's home strip. Does someone at St Mirren not like the stripes?

Is it not time that Hibernian were officially renamed Hibmirren ?

This is a bit like watching the team trying to create a genuine scoring opportunity other than by a hopeful punt up the park! Apparently our signing strategy is just as clueless.

So far every other SPL team appear to be strengthening their playing squads except us. Maybe we will make some inspired last minute signings!

I think we are on plumbs if we do not make 2 or 3 signings to make up for shortfall in pacey wingers/creative midfielders before the transfer deadline.

Who do you think we are capable of beating in our present state? St Johnstone played us off the park football-wise by the proverbial mile. They maybe didn't score today but they have 4 or 5 forwards who would walk into our team.

Who are worse than us so far this season? Possibly Livi and I fear we will be scrapping with them for the bottom spot at the end of the season. However, even Livi play better football than us.

An apology of a performance - we don't have a clue how to play football.

This is relegation form. We don't have a clue how to pass the ball or create a chance.

Every football supporter experiences a day like today from time to time. The question is - will we do a 'Southampton' and pull ourselves together after a proverbial thumping? The signs are however that we will have an uphill struggle this season due to an overly negative tactical approach and a dearth of creative midfielders to propel a forward momentum as against just 'keeping our shape' in a defensive sense. Scottish football in general is blighted with negative tactics and has been paying for this for many years - thus the dearth of quality forwards currently at our disposal.

I'm afraid it is the players who have to 'man up' - not the supporters.

At least the players haven't shamed the old black & white stripes.

With just over 5 minutes to play this would be a wonderful result if we kept it down to 5 at full time.
