  1. We badly need a goalkeeper, Langfield is a liability.
  2. ......are being vastly overcharged for the pathetic fare on offer.
  3. I had always thought Davy Clarkson was a good player so at least its another forward (of course hes only on loan) but still leaves us with no decent goalie or centre half. One thing I cant fathom though is how some on this board seem to think that theres been an improvement/stopped the rot/started winning etc since Alex Rae has arrived. Three defeats in five games including a cup exit at home. Thats a poor start for a new manager I`m afraid. OK theres still time to get shot of some duds and bring in football players before Monday. If he has any eyesight at all, please return McMullan to Glasgow forthwith as the first action. Oh, and NO signings from England please.
  4. Never ceases to amuse me the lengths actors go to award themselves and then be cry babies when they either succeed or fail. "It is better to deserve honours and not receive them, than to receive honours and not deserve them"
  5. As far back as August, having seen McMullan play twice, I knew he was useless and ought to be sent back whence he came. I said that at the time. I`m also a bit surprised at how many on here are saying theres an improvement since Alex Rae has been manager. His record does not bear that out, I`m afraid. Although I`ve made it plain I wont be going to any more games, I still have the team at heart and it pains me to see what a shambles has been created. Its to their credit that fans are still prepared to attend matches and it would be nice if even one decent player was signed in the remaining 5 days or so of the transfer window. I dont thik it will happen though.
  6. I could have sworn Rae has suffered defeats against Livingston and Partick so far, with another to follow tomorrow. I also detailed the kind of players we are likely to attract. No need for the Samaritans, I am well used to disappointment with Saints. So should you.
  7. Lol, I am an unhappy little amphibian recently with the goings on at Saints.Only decent thing recently is the wet weather which suits me fine.
  8. Thats now 9 days left for signings to take place and we STILL dont have a decent goalie, centre half or centre forward. We still DO have, however, a couple of loan duds and a few others who should be shown the door and told to find more suitable employment i.e.not as professional footballers. We are already out of ALL competitions we entered (some of them long since), no home wins in living memory, charging far too much at the gate, crowds understandably dwindling, calling off the last game 10 mins before kick off,a new management duo hardly setting the heather alight already and another defeat likely tomorrow. And the owners are looking for someone to buy the club, lol. I suppose, having said all that, what player in their right mind would want to sign for us ? Probably like in recent seasons it will be someone with no other option, who is either over the hill, permanently injured, or cant get a game for another struggling team who are only happy to unload to us. Go on , Mr Rae, please prove the frog wrong.
  9. Its never been wise to completely discount Saints chances in a game they look certs to lose, but I`m afraid this time we are a team with no fight and so will be defeated. I`d be interested to hear how Messrs Rand and Farrell intend to change this losing mentality, particularly in home games where they have already a 100% record. I see that in todays PDE "Faz" says we have to improve our home record. He certainly wouldnt have to be Stephen Hawking to come to that conclusion. As its early days, and they have inherited a dreadful bunch of imposters, theres no other way than to allow a bit of breathing space. They did take the job however and will no doubt have been informed that another relegation will see their dismissal, so theres a dozen days left to get rid of some loan players and other malingerers and recruit some footballers. I would love to be pleasantly surprised.
  10. I`m not sure whether the undersoil heating was apparently on or not but regardless of who decided to cancel the match so near to kick-off time, its the fans who yet again are the ones to lose out. I take it this match will be midweek sometime with a £20 entry fee, lol. Meantime, the break will give the Saints management duo further time to sign some good players in time for the Hibs match.
  11. None of which - as far as I am aware - have come to pass. Better to concentrate on our own clubs shortcomings I fear.
  12. Do I take from that, you agree with overcharging fans (of whatever team)and particularly if its a team with a big following ? You may not like Rangers, and as they have always been my local team I will always have a soft spot for them, but fans are fans and cannot be blamed for the fortunes - or misfortunes - of their club. At present, I feel ashamed at how my own club is treating its fans, by overcharging for lower league football and employing useless managers and players but the only thing I feel I can do is absent myself from the proceedings until some sense prevails.
  13. Yet for all that, there are some on here who would be quite happy for Saints to fleece their fans for £25 a time and even let them have most of the stadium. Football fans are football fans, its not their fault the club had been badly managed so why should they be punished ( and of course Saints fans will also be forced to pay £25 for the privilege of yet another tanking.)
  14. There seems to be some confidence in the possibility of Alex Rae being able to do some business in the transfer market. I dont concur with this unfortunately. I`d like to ask why he hasnt already got shot of the loan players who are completely useless and can be returned to their original clubs. I know he didnt sign them but half an hour at training would be enough to see the lack of ability. I dont doubt someone will be signed but I already have my suspicion that AR isnt going to be a success here.I could be wrong of course and hope to be proved thus, for Saints sake.
  15. No players from England ,please.
  16. Thanks for the info. Rather surprised at that but I`m sure the board will be suitably encouraged by such an improvement in attendance.
  17. Have not had the chance to respond to the latest defeat and only saw the regulation 30 seconds of highlights on Sportscene, but what was the home support like ? Wonder how many took up the offer of £20 on the night, bearing in mind it was a foul evening. As I posted last week, in advance of another early cup exit, where all we are left with is avoidance of successive relegations,it would be interesting to know what kind of crowds are likely to be enticed for the remainder of the season. Has the board, in its wisdom(lol)budgeted for this perfect storm approaching , and is it still to be "lets continue to fleece the fans" at the gate ? i dont doubt the answer will be a resounding YES. In which case, hell mend them. Oh, and I see their latest managerial appointment isnt doing too well already, after just a month.Deary me, wonder how long this latest guy will get before it dawns on them, although judging by his radio interview, we were unlucky to lose the game. Lol.
  18. I was merely indicating that the days of big crowds are gone for ever for us. Its hardly being pedantic Mr Div.
  19. Lol, a "massive" crowd. That would be about 8,000 then , eh ? Lol.
  20. Pretty lively debate today with views expressed from those who are happy to accept the current situation and , like me, those who are not. Unfortunately for me, it seems that the people who run our club have made the decision about pricing/tickets/advance booking etc and appear not to be willing to alter things. In which case, as a Saints fan for decades and one who has the club at heart, I am likely to be one of those many thousands over the years who will be excluded from the game in future. Maybe, given that the fare on offer has been pathetic for a long time now, it will be easier to accept that the once weekly trip to the match will be a distant memory. Its certainly very easy to get used to not attending these days ! Good luck to those who are prepared to be hectored by the footballing authorities regarding times ,dates, prices, where you must sit etc, I am not prepared to kow-tow I`m afraid.
  21. I would assume from the reply that you are content to pay whatever is demanded, pay in advance, sit wherever you are told and maybe even believe we will win at home sometime, lol. I, on the other hand think it should be pay at the gate, reduced prices for the second division, and sit wherever you can without tickets. On this I suppose we must disagree, but each to his own.
  22. Just as a matter of interest, Div, why is it necessary to buy a ticket in advance when the ground is nearly empty ? Is it not conceivable that lots of people decide, maybe at the last minute depending on weather conditions etc, whether to go to a match or not ? Admittedly for some matches this wouldnt be possible, but NEVER for a Saints match as our crowds are paltry. Its just another tedious diversion by my team to make it more difficult to attend a match. And thats even before you see the complete dross on show.
  23. I see, Bud, but my real point is that I refuse to pay £20 (or even if it was slightly reduced for a one-off match) to watch a Second division team who never win at home and have NO decent players. Of course there are still lots of fans who are resigned to be paying what I consider to be over the odds, and thats their choice. I am perhaps cutting my snout off to spite my face, but I am just taking a personal stand against ticket prices and will not be back unless it changes. Ive said it before but if whoever runs Saints can only do it by charging £20 a time, then thats their problem and crowds will dwindle further. I can personally afford to pay that amount, but plenty of fans cannot and unless a stand is taken against this kind of thing, nothing will change.
