  1. Amazing to think Flynn can’t get a start even though he’s back fit. Can’t believe I’d have been asking that question a couple of months ago. Would Magennis get a start in this squad ?
  2. Love Obika, but interested as to why we switched him out for Erwin after an hour today. Didn’t watch the match, but surprised at this change - the only thing that made sense to me was from what I read, we had plenty great crosses into the box and Jon was nowhere near them and JG thought Erwin might. Thoughts ?
  3. I was starting to weaken my resolve until I read this post. My self imposed boycott of away matches will continue today. (Hope we play well and win so I can stop being petty and stupid and get back to watching us - nothing wrong with being depressed on a Saturday evening after watching getting jumped away)
  4. We were not creating chances earlier in the season, however, we are now. Goals will come.
  5. Definitely a penalty but never a second yellow - however, it was a foul and Ferguson should have received the second booking for persistent fouling.
  6. On the plus side, we’ve played Aberdeen two Saturdays running and totally dominated them. (Don’t think the red card changed the match much) And actually played some good attractive football. Urgently need to stick these chances away though ....
  7. Sad, but true. Especially after Obika came off.
  8. Don’t think his head is in the right place. Desperately needs a goal to boost his confidence. As does Dennis ... We didn’t look as good after Obika came off. He’s easily our number 1 striker.
  9. Great performance, but need to be much more clinical in front of goal. Ultimately, 2 points dropped. Other results going against us too and we end up bottom of the table. On to the next match ...
  10. Agree, the commentary has been pants. Hardly mention what’s going on in the match. And they’re certainly not natural public speakers ...
  11. I suspect there will be more of this to come. It’s just unfortunate that this may benefit one of our rivals at the foot of the table. But it may not. This season becoming more of a Covid lottery.
  12. I noted that McGrath had commented JG had been instructing the midfielders to shoot more often. I hope they carry out those instructions. I do not expect Lewis to make any errors, but if you don’t shoot you’re never going to score.
  13. Agree. But I’m going to go for 2-0 COYS !!
  14. Really not sure where to start with this terrible situation, so please excuse this rant. It’s not complete, but in no particular order ... If we broke the guidelines, and seems we admitted this, then we cannot complain about the points deduction and fine. Sanctions should have been agreed before the season started, but as they weren’t there’s no room for complaint. Losing 3-0 to Well could easily have happened had the match been played, but not against Accies, certainly not by 3 goals - I think we’d have won or at worst drawn that match, so that hurts. Hopefully having points awarded to those clubs can be turned into motivation and galvanise the players to get results we need. The club also loses out on ppv money from these 2 home matches. I’ve no idea what that’s worth and perhaps we were lucky it was those teams, probably not costing us as much than it was some others. There needs to be an internal inquiry at the club to discover why the guidelines were not being followed. Although given the recent appointments, this may already have been done. We need to ensure this does not happen again. I do not like the suggestions on here that Kibble are to blame. They are a thoroughly professional outfit and take their image and charity status extremely seriously. In fact, I’d like to see them have more involvement and oversight on all matters, including “football”, rather than less. There’s no doubt in my mind that the financial issues came to light because Kibble were questioning the nature of some transactions. Their input can only help raise standards at the club on and off the pitch, something we’ll certainly need once fan ownership is confirmed. To end, we need to take the punishment on the chin, put this sad and damaging episode behind us and get behind the team, starting with the Dons match on Saturday. COYS !!
  15. Agree, and perhaps a reason for him to be offered, and sign, a two year contract.
  16. Not necessarily. Not beyond the realms of fantasy that he’ll extend with us. (With a clause to leave if an acceptable exit fee is met)

  18. Passing was particularly good tonight. And our players seemed to have much more room/space than other games. Excellent performance from start to finish..
  19. Junior had a positive impact when he came in. Looks like we have a strong squad - when everyone is fit.
  20. The midfield is looking very good. Not sure Foley will get his place back. Still have Flynn to return too. And Ethan. I know Aberdeen had selection issues, but so did we - when was the last time we outplayed Aberdeen ?
  21. I am high as a kite. Thoroughly deserved that win. Did JG outfox McInnes with his formation and tactics ? I cannot remember the last match we played where the player in possession always had an out ball , a choice of passes. And space. We ripped them apart in the first half, and other than the start of the second looked comfortable throughout. Well done Saints. Well done Goodwin !
  22. McGrath being interviewed on Radio Scotland: “The gaffer been telling us all week , if you don’t shoot you don’t score” Exactly what I hoped JG would have been telling the players. Seems they’re listening !
  23. Terrific deal for both parties. Love to Ethan celebrate this extension by scoring another worldie against Dons today. Anyone know Cammy’s contract status ? Be good to see him sign up for a few more years too.
  24. Given the recent issues with Scotland U21s it will be interesting to see how they deal with us and Killie. I’m still hopeful that we had not in fact broken any guidelines.
