  1. Either of those two would be a good appointment for me. Fullarton has the quailities/contacts/enthusiasm and Yogi had been round the block and knows the score but has had some negatives either would do me though
  2. I can look at him as the ex Queens manager ... but the fact remains that I just wouldn't get excited about him being appointed I'd still support him if he did .. I just wouldn't celebrate the appointment
  3. Surely a new manager is better than a previous one ? i just can't get excited about him coming back ... and I don't think the fans generally would be
  4. I'd take Fullarton tbh This guy looks to have spent donkeys learning the managerial side of the game and has ran academies at Bolton , Palace and Nottingham Forest. Also runs his own academy in Spain so I assume has the contacts to bring in the young talent we desperately need (for example .. Oliver Burke at Forest) he had a short spell at Notts county but that club is , and still is , a basket case I know he's an ex saint and , for some, left under a cloud but we need someone who can inject some life into the club and not be just another one of the journeymen managers. I assume Hughes will be favourite though
  5. Never good to see anyone sacked as it means things aren't going well but I'm not surprised
  6. If your recruitment policy means you have excess centre backs and not enough quality cover in midfield after 5 or so games then your policy is flawed ...in my opinion
  7. I've had this same argument .. how can we expect any sort of plan if we see the youth set up as totally separate from the club? if it has no link and a very slim chance of ever producing any players then just switch the lights off
  8. I don't agree with the 'I've paid my money , ill say what I like' mentality. the fans can only react to what they see on and off the pitch but at the end of the day .. personal insults to our own staff are not acceptable. im not saying everyone should be happy but , and I know it's a minority, abusing our own people doesn't reflect well on any of us. Rae is quickly running out of time to demonstrate he can turn this around
  9. I predicted one point but it's one I feel like we stole today. our defensive 'unit' is all over the shop and if you have a keeper who kicks like that then you have big problems .. oh dear
  10. Journeymen players and no direction on the pitch isn't helping us right now The club , in my opinion, needs a management team who want to build the club not just the team...we need to start really focusing on youth and get a team on the pitch which has energy and the fans can get behind. Yes you need some experience , but we need to start really investing in the club and how it interacts with the fans, youth clubs locally and the community. I know that sounds a bit wishy washy but if the fans see energy and some kids coming through into a team they can get behind....then at least they can see a plan, a direction....and then the identity and the willingness to come back in numbers will start to get some momentum. I want the next manager (whenever that is) to show that they have a plan about building the club and planning for the future as well as just now ...because like I've said before ...6 players over 30 in the starting line up isnt even medium term planning ...at any level of football having said all that ....3 points today would be a start !!
  11. And I'm afraid player (and staff) recruitment will sink you or make you shine ... if Rae is correct in terms of his resources , or lack of, then he can't afford to take a punt .. he has to get it right .. and if a player is getting loaned out after three months having hardly kicked a ball .. then he hasn't
  12. I just think Rae's recruitment strategy looks all over the shop as the squad appears imbalanced and to send a boy out 12 weeks after signing him is bizarre
  13. Ooooft... This isn't a Chelsea or Man City issue where they buy a player and then immediately send them out on loan because they can. This looks more like a boss who , either hasn't done his homework on the boy and now doesn't rate him (after a very short space of time) or they've fallen out.... Or both. What it isn't .. Is that the manager has decided that we are so good at the back and things are going so well that we can send this lad out for experience. Another opportunity for the manager to attract criticism .., and he's taken it
  14. Nope, I dont think Tony will get the job if they get sacked ...I really don't...his manager days are gone and , as much as he loves the club , football has moved on and I dont think any of us with a sensible head on would want him in the dugout and he knows that...and I just don't believe folk go to see their own team lose. I would concede that fans at any club probably get on the teams back too early if things aren't going well.... but that's the same at pretty much every club in the world ? that wont change and to be honest the only way to silence them or block them out under the noise of the rest is to get the other fans on their feet by playing well, scoring goals and winning games....surely that's the way you silence dissenters at any club? Where were these negative punters last December? January? February? To be honest I didn't hear them, and I'm sure you didnt either ...why? because results were , on the whole, positive Once you have a close season , time to work with that same group...plus your additions and leavers...then the fans ( quite rightly) are going to expect progression, so if there was a 'rot' then when exactly did it set in? The Albion cup game we started with 6 players over 30...is that Rae's vision for the club moving forward? if so then he'd better buy the right over 30 players because if it doesn't work?.... then , not only do we have an ageing team that aren't exactly proving hard to beat right now ...but we've also been left with a squad with limited foundations to build on and one with a very poor relative value? Like I say , I admire your staunch defence of them and I cant help but think you may have some sort of attachment which is fine by me...but the stark reality is that unless they start getting performances from their squad then there isnt a thing you, I or any other fan can do to secure their future
  15. Tony Fitz has always been a good egg, cares about the club and this is exactly what anyone would expect him to come out and say. However, the management team and the players need to deliver against that loyalty as, no matter what Tony Fitzpatrick says, once you start going back the way in terms of points and performances...other factors will increase the pressure for change . You don't have to agree with that approach ...but that's football I'm afraid.
  16. oops ..yeah this week I'm not writing them off as such, I'm saying that if Rae cant look at that game as an opportunity to get some points then I cant see many fixtures he could do it with
  17. well 4 points from 15 isn't great ( better than us I know). I just dont think Rae can afford a poor result next week
  18. Loyal ...you must be an agent or something surely? You are suggesting that a management team who are bottom of the league currently are in a position to ask for a two year commitment and the fans should back them regardless? I'm sorry but on your other thread you said the fans needed a reality check , you need to think about what you are saying....and the reality is that clubs give you two years when things are going well...and right now ? that aint happening
  19. that's their only win of the season so far ...granted they have only lost a few by the odd goal
  20. The supporters ARE the club and when they are bottom of the league with no sign of improvement then they are quite within their rights to voice discontent. I admire your defence of the management team and ,thus far, I have also backed them but lets be frank ...it doesn't matter how much of a 'reality check' the fans need in your opinion. The management team need to live in the real world of football and realise that steering a ship at the bottom of any division isn't gonna increase the sales of rose petals through the club shop for you to walk on. The fans only react to the product and the direction. and if you think fitzpatrick is gonna dust down the tracky then you need give your head a wobble
  21. Dumbarton are poor at the moment.. So if we don't get a result against them then Rae won't last .. And depending on the performance he still might not. Bottom of the pile can be enough of a trigger for a change .. But no reaction to going bottom the following week in terms of a performance definitely will be.. Let's hope for two good performances away from home to turn the tide a bit
  22. To be honest , the manager has his work cut out for him enough without me telling porkies about him. Like I say I've backed him so far but seeing stuff like that concerns me , especially if it leaks back to players .. It can't be good for motivation. Hey , maybe he's under pressure and that's just his way ? Tbh I don't know him well enough to know whether that's just his style
