  1. It is. It has been open but quiet for the last few games. [emoji481][emoji481]
  2. Binned my campaign scarf of the Jack Ross era. Today I'll get a new one for the Alan Stubbs era. We're on our way. 7-0 saints and even Mullen scores. How's that for optimism. AS b+w army. [emoji471][emoji471][emoji471] PS we qualify too
  3. Oh, I woke up this morning I was feeling fine Got St Mirren on my mind. Alan Stubbs has got us playing just the way we ……………..eh! Aw Feck it’s Saturday. Maybe Matty Willock will make a difference Where’s ma Scarf
  4. Cheers Bud. Not a bad shout. I'd actually forgotten about that line myself.
  5. I have heard Rangers have sold all their tickets for this one which is why making life difficult for saints fans is necessary to stop Rangers Fans getting in amongst us. I've got my ticket but not sure why I bothered. I'll enjoy a couple of beers in the city centre before the game but I imagine the journey back to the City centre won't be so easy. Wait in the subway queue..........Probably not Go for a pint in a nice pub around about Ibrox and wait on the queue dying down............Probably no such place(right after a match) Walk back to the City Centre......... Better wear ma Sambas As I say don't know why I bothered.
  6. After Tuesday night I hummed and hawed about going to this game. It looks unlikely that we will qualify now and let's face it we were Rank rotten against Spartans and less noteworthy than a dead pigeon against Queens Park. "I'm not fecking going on Saturday, watching this pish is not fun" was the general consensus at Hampden. So I made my stance, but that was Tuesday. Game has now been added to my Smartcard and a ticket for the Rangers game also purchased to add to my masochistic pleasure. It's like watching a car crash. You don't want to look but you can't draw your eyes away. It can't be any worse than Tuesday can it? 0-0 or a low score draw with saints to win on penalties will no doubt have poor odds but will be a cert going by recent form. How many will we ship at Ibrox? WHY AM I TORTURING MYSELF!!!!!!!! Because When Saturday Comes.........................it's SMTID That's Life.......
  7. St Mirren took a decent crowd last night but the atmosphere was different. I maintain, there was no nastiness only a lack of noise. No Drum, very few chants and a couple of boo's at half time and full time but FFS I think the fans who watched the match were entitled to that. It wasn't even a very long or loud boo. The fans cheered the team at the end of the shoot out and Credit to Stephen McGinn he made the effort to shake a few fans hands and give us all a round of applause. By all means have a go at the team but I would suggest that Kemp our honourable member from "Paisley, but not at the moment" was out of Order and his remark "our support was also pretty poor last night." was uncalled for. In his interview Alan Stubbs acknowledged the players need help and guidance. Some fans obviously felt a little "Boo" in Stubbs direction, would assist in this guidance. I must admit I emitted a slight Boo at full time too. I think the emotion Stubbs described in his interview was frustration and I think a fair amount of fans found themselves frustrated after 90mins of "action" where a pigeon dying was the highlight of the night. Stubbs admitted The performance of the club as a whole has not been good enough but it's not for the lack of trying, he said. we need strikers, width, pace and power. We need a couple of signings before Saturday as the team are Stuttering in quite a few new places. A major overhaul is needed and the players and staff need to work hard to produce significant improvement. Stubbs claims they are frustrated at the lack of progress but is hopeful things will improve. I would suggest the fans who showed their support for their club, by attending and paying, were also frustrated but in no way was there any suggestion of Nasty. BOO! to you Mr Kemp!!!!!!
  8. I get the need to win bit but if at any point last season did anyone say, We would be relying on Ross Stewart to win I would have thought either 1. Feck we're in the S**T or 2 .Jesus that boys going to improve by leaps and bounds in the next few months. Sadly the shot he had against Spartans is still orbiting the moon so I think it clear which one I think. Stewart was never the answer and I don't think he ever will be. The worrying bit is from evidence so far Cooke is worse and King is suspect but hopefully there is something there we haven't seen yet while Ross Stewart has showed us stuff and if we're relying on him. "MUMMY. "
  9. If you think they are on their way or won't be in future contention. Why bother. Got to look to the future. No matter how bleak it looks. Get the new boys on
  10. All the more reason to practice. I've been impressed by him though unlike the others. There is definitely a player in there. I want to see all Stubbs signings all on the park to see how they gel together and I would rather see it now than Stubbs thinking on August 4. I wonder how all my new boys would look in the same team.
  11. Ah well here we go again. My optimism after the Kilmarnock game has been somewhat dimmed but it's match day and I'll toddle along and offer my support. Meddling in team affairs isn't my thing (As you will see) but I would suggest we need to get a settled team before the Dundee game. A key element has to be effort and commitment. It was present at Rugby Park but apart from a McGinn influx against Spartans it's been non-existent in the last two games. Let’s see what Stubb's boys can do. Whilst I think Eckersley and Gary Mac or even McShane or Ross Stewart would help win this game it’s clear Stubbs doesn’t rate them, so I won’t include them. My first concern is Rogers. There must be a goalie in there somewhere, but maybe I just haven't seen it yet. He needs to sharpen up big style and start commanding the box. His floundering about cost us dearly against Spartans and he wasn't too clever against Sunderland either But..... In Goals Rogers. Get him match fit and build his confidence. Right back Paul McGinn he hasn't been great, but he has made some promising runs past the opposition last man to get in crosses. He needs to deliver the crosses better. Kpekawa and Heaton Centre backs. Kpekawa looked decent against Kilmarnock but was a lump of lard against Sunderland. Get that boy sharper and fitter. Heaton is a big boy who can win the ball in the air, but feck knows where it’s going go when he heads it. Get some heading practice in tonight Heaton. Left Back Coulson. Can he defend? Let him practice but at least he can go forward. Midfield Smith, McGinn, Magennis and Flynn. Play McGinn as a ball winner and Cammy in his forward role with Magennis and Flynn in support. Forwards King (will hopefully get better as he gets fitter) and Cooke (he can’t be as bad as he looks. Just move you arse and go for the ball You’re a big guy get in there.) Subs Sammy, Mullen, Baird, McPherson, Kellerman, (except for Kellerman we know what these guys can do.) We can only P**S with the C**K we have and Stubbs has indicated these guys will be in his plans so lets get them on the park and show us what they can do. Have some faith in your Squad Stubbs. Stop fecking about with trialists and guys you think won’t make it. It’s your job on the line. Get your team on the park, stick a rocket up their arse and show us they give a FECK enough to go out there and beat an amateur team from League two. Not too much to ask from a PREMIER LEAGUE club. Then once tonight’s over get back on inspiring your team and bringing in class signings so I can look forward to August 4 instead of turning to drink. I’ll be in the Clockwork Beer Co from 6.30pm practising for the Dundee Game.
  12. Calm down Ricky, I hope your right but I've met a couple of Sunderland fans on the train. They say Sunderland only got 900 tickets. The jury is out on JR but they are hoping for good things. Going to do the St Mirren ambassador bit and take them for a pint at Queen St. Plenty of time!!!!!
  13. Okay. Here we go again. Doing what Saturdays were meant for don't really give a shit about JR He did a job for us but as so many have pointed out He didn't give a shit about anything but himself in the end. Jack Ross is Dead long live Alan Stubbs. Long live sat afternoon footie even if it just a meaningless friendly let's see a good performance from Stubbs signings to make up for Tuesday. I'll see some of you in the pub. COYS
  14. AH! but to be fair we knew a lot of Jack's squad wouldn't make the grade so I just stuck to the Stubbs Signings
  15. Well it’s nice to see normal service renewed on the forum. Differences of opinion, friendly banter, snide remarks and Shull just thrilled at the excitement of the last half hour. Having watched both our games they were night and day. Thank feck somebody switched the lights on last night, so the team could show us something in the last half hour. Then again Complete darkness for the first 60 minutes would have struggled to conceal just how rank rotten we were. As Stubbs said the Tempo was too slow, the attitude of our players was all wrong and great credit must be given to Spartans for their efforts. They were up for it, playing to the whistle, they were playing for each other and they were throwing themselves at everything. A bit like we did on Friday. What about that wee rolly-polly keeper. Big Cook, Kellerman, Heaton and King towering over him but he took everything in the air. Then in the second half he had Mullen snapping at his ankles, but he kept him out. The inability of most St Mirren players to keep the ball down or win a header contributed to his success along with Cammy having a nightmare but that wee guy can be proud of his nights work unlike most of our team. You had to enjoy their celebrations when they scored the second. They had been denied proper celebrations for the first. By the time anyone realised the first one counted the moment had passed but the joy, smiles and disbelief on there faces as they all celebrated being 2-0 up against Premier League opposition (that’s us by the way) is something they will remember for a long time. Thank the heavens for Captain Fantastic and the night wasn’t a compete disaster. He came straight to the Fans at full time as well no chatter with the players just straight to the fans almost as if he was apologising for the performance. Top Man Stephen. Incidentally who’s been on shooting practice this week. Fantastic or not he couldn’t have hit a barn door on Friday night, but he drilled his chance into the net last night. A fantastic goal for a fantastic Captain. So, mister Cook, Kellerman, Heaton and King that’s who to look to. If you’re rank one-week train hard and put in the effort so you can improve like Captain fantastic did after his below average shooting antics on Friday. Oh, and please do or else we’re all going to be hissing louder than the DJ’s Tannoy last night If your efforts don’t improve.
  16. Poor Poz. I almost played the couldn't be arsed card myself but in the end I relented. My daughter really wanted to go and she can drive so with a designated driver and the prospect of a pint or two for me, I couldn't I really say no. I'm glad I did though. July football is very pleasant and the game was exciting for a 0-0. Mysterious team selection and the unexpected performance made it even sweeter. The last ten minutes were a little nervous and winning the shootout was the icing on the cake. I'm up for some more of this July football and I'm definitely going to be arsed going Tuesday. You have every right not to be arsed but by not being arsed you missed a good night or "you missed a fantastic experience." as I said in my original post. Do go to away league games by the way. Away games are much more fun. Be arsed or don't be arsed that is your prerogative. I'm not looking down my nose at you Bud that would make my eyes squint. Thanks for the POZ-itive part about the excellent post though. Much appreciated and mid July football is really quite pleasant I do recommend you try it.
  17. Summer Football – what an enjoyable experience that was last night. T shirts, sunshine, daylight and no fecking wind, rain, ice or snow to chill me to the bone. Funnily enough I still had a Bovril. I’m a creature of habit. To all you guys and gals who didn’t go because you couldn’t be arsed (I know a lot of people couldn’t go for real reasons) you missed a fantastic experience. The St Mirren Boys (and Girls) made all the noise and I think someone brought an amplifier for the Drum. The acoustics in the Chadwick Stand were something else. On seeing the team sheet, I was as bemused as most fans to see only two of Stubbs new signings in the Starting line-up. Kirkpatrick and Macpherson seemed out of place and that was certainly a talking point in the Killie Sports Bar which is located under their main stand. £2.50 a pint, that was a result on its own. The first 20 minutes were surreal. After reuniting with buds not seen since the Falkirk away day and acknowledging all the old faces in the crowd it was down to the action. It was like being in the championship again. St Mirren Dominated, “What a sh***y home support” bellowed out from the North bank who seemed to number a lot more than 823 and the 12 or so Killie fans who bothered to reply were as quiet as the tumbleweed blowing across the Livingstone End of the Tony Macaroni. The St Mirren fans and players looked more like a premier league outfit than Killie. I had to take a reality check to ensure I wasn’t dreaming. Bairdy brought me back to reality at one point but Sammy saved the day and well you know the rest. Penalty shoot out Brilliant. (Some shocking penalties though) Well done Sammy! I really enjoyed the game last night and thought the boys did good. Well done Alan Stubbs. Don’t want to get too excited BUT….. ON OUR WAY - WE’RE BACK
  18. Whats the weather like through there in the west. will be leaving from North Berwick soon but the good weather has suddenly disappeared and its got awful dark. looks like a downpour is imminent. Feck I might have to wear a jacket now.
  19. Cheers mate. It would have been lonely sitting in that big stand all by myself. Looking forward to seeing the new Saints in action and embracing the philosophy of the new management team. Everyone knows last season's team was far short of the standards necessary for Premier League football but a fair few of the seasoned posters on here are up in arms because Stubbs had taken command cleared out who we all knew weren't good enough for the step up and has brought in a few fresh faces. Now admittedly we have never heard of most of them but the bottom line is Alan Stubbs has and that's good enough for me.. So stop bleating about things and think positive thoughts like Alan Stubbs is going be be good for the Saints. Jack Ross is Dead, Long Live Alan Stubbs. That's how it should work (till the next manager comes along)
  20. This Again ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Will I be the only numb skull there tonight????????????????
  21. Don't see much on the Killie website about walk up ticket arrangements. I take it they'll be a wee portacabin somewhere selling tickets on the night. I will have to take the car, Any advice on parking. From what I found on the web ; "There is a car park at the ground, but this is for permit holders only. So it is a case of finding some street parking, or using one of the pay and display car parks located in the nearby town centre." Is the Chadwick Stand at the Dundonald Place end of the ground??????
  22. Pinged off an email with copy of booking. I see twitter is full of Bolton fans moaning about hotel and travel plans too. I won't hold my breath but reimbursement request has been sent.
  23. Who covers the cost of my pre-paid Scot-Rail Ticket. £20 quid down the drain which they won't refund because they haven't cancelled any of the six trains my return journey would involve. Feck and I only saved about two quid buying it in advance. That's about another 10 ticket gambles on journeys just to break even. Better odds on Paddy Power or one of their associates. Pity they don't do trains and hotels. When going to matches, advance planning is fecking useless. If it's not TV that's fecking up fixtures, it's internationals or last minute cancellations by officials who seem to think they can change a fixture with one weeks notice and now some overpaid players who want to watch the England game have gone on strike. Arrghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not even the first game of the season and the fans have been fecked over already. Sweden better win and ruin their day.
  24. Ok guys. I Thought about the unconscious Racism angle and my Brain tells me Oaky has got a point here. Even if unconscious Racism was a real phenomenon then how could the individual be at fault. His parents, peers, teachers, society, government, mates, partner and fellow forum members would have to bear the brunt of the blame for failing to CONDITION the poor individual for not being educated enough to function in a politically correct society where individualism and diversity must be recognised but never never mentioned because anyone could be offended. Then I thought Feck it and I googled it. People took the implicit association test to gauge their subconscious racism. Now the researchers behind the test admit it can’t always do that. Research says there are ways to reduce racial bias. Calling people racist isn’t one of them. So Oaky is correct on both fronts unconscious Racism is a flawed concept and calling people racist for using a witty pun is wrong And no one can argue because Google told me.
  25. Armour has chinks The writing was chinese Divs Armour has a chink in it. When I went to school that was a Pun. I think you are over thinking this !!!!!!!!! Long live free speech, Puns and the right to disagree. (oh feck I've used a Japanese ninja emoji. Someone might think it's racist if they don't know the difference between Japanese and Chinese Ninja's)
