  1. Just tried them again. Still no answer. Hold that journey!!!!!!!
  2. I was obviously keen to renew my early bird offer this morning but wanted to enquire re changing my seat so I gave the ticket office a phone. No answer. I double checked the website and no info re ticket office opening times has been updated since 20 may. I phoned again. No answer. Do they close the ground during close season or has Ricky's campaign for 5000 season tickets got them so busy they can't answer the phone. I hope so. it would seem a little strange not to man the phones during the season ticket renewal period.
  3. There is a rumour flying around this neck of the woods (i.e Hibbee land) that Hibs have arranged a swap deal with celtic and will receive two players instead of cash for McGinn so they don't have to pay us our percentage of the transfer fee. I'm sure it's a lot of bollocks but if that did happen where would we stand. Also to get back on thread. C'Moan the Well. Heading off to the Pub to laugh at Celtic missing out on a double treble. I hope!!!!
  4. Did Anyone see Div at the Morton game. He dressed up in a rather fetching pair of black and white broad striped trousers only to be outdone by a guy with the Full matching black and white striped suit and a Black and white striped face. If his contacts were that good he would have been tipped off about how he was going to be outdone in the fashion stakes and upgraded his outfit accordingly. With that in mind I shall rate him a 3 . JR going nowhere. (Clutching at straws but keeping my hopes alive)
  5. There are more than a few of us like minded Buds. Cheers Not sure how Dusseldorf or other German clubs fixed it but I believe their fans get free rail travel on production of their football tickets. The SFA and wee Nicky should get their heads together and sort out a similar deal with the rail network here. That would boost the economy and raise numbers at all the grounds.
  6. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jack-ross-set-more-ipswich-12548356 The article basically says Unless Ross impresses so much that Ipswich offer him the job, St Mirren will be in Premiership limbo until Hurst is available for talks.
  7. St Ricky has been pushing for a big increase in Season Tickets and expounding the benefits this would create for the club. What about the benefits to the Fan? Why does anyone buy a season ticket and what are the benefits to them? 9 days left and in the words of the clash “Should I stay, or should I go????” Yes, it’s nearly time for the early bird season ticket renewal. It’s not really a question of whether I renew it or not. That’s a given. Jack Ross and Gavin Reilly may also be pondering the question “should I stay, or should I go” but essentially, they are just employees of the club who might work hard and do a great job but it’s still their occupation not their hobby and whether they stay or not, I shall chose to plough all my hard earned cash into something I want to do and not something I have to do. A Season ticket is like a passport or a permission slip. It tells the wife match days are mine and I won’t be going shopping, sight seeing or undertaking any DIY projects on said days. It reduces nagging, huffs and football widow tantrums because once she knows the season ticket is paid for there is no point in fighting it. She just changes tac and exploits the feck out of match day expenses which costs me a fortune, but I get a nag free season. The game is only 90 minutes in the middle of a match day which is usually full of fun, travel and adventure. I get to travel up, down and across the country, meeting lots of likeminded people and usually having a drink with them. On the trips to Paisley I meet old mates or pub buddies. On my travels I make lots of new friends, acquaintances and drinking buddies. On away days I’m reunited with die hard, like minded Buds. We party, have a sing song and win, lose or draw it’s the day out that’s important. The season ticket is not just for entry to St Mirren Park. It symbolises commitment to the idea that match days are important, and Saints take priority over more routine, mundane pastimes that can dominate home life if you let them. “Should I stay, or should I go” relates to whether I try to move my season ticket seat which I haven’t sat in all season or try and oust the owner of the seat in the row behind and six along who hasn’t sat in their seat all season either because I’ve been in it. Whatever happens I’ll be there next year whether JR is there or not. The match day out is a great experience, hail, rain or shine, win lose or draw. Of course, it’s been great with JR in charge and winning every week and I’d love him to stay but it’s my team and it’s only his Job. So, no matter who is in charge and who is in the squad. I’ll be there. ST Mirren is for life not just Fergie, Smith, Hendrie, McPherson, Lennon and Ross seasons Not everyone has the time or means to go to all the games BUT If you can and want to go to the games, get a season ticket. It stops the clash with the wife when she tries to take you shopping or create DIY tasks on a match-day. Of course, you may have other reasons!
  8. Maybe it's not all doom and gloom. Could it be that the this is just another step in the Tony Fitzpatrick prophesy that we shall win the premier league this year. Maybe Jack believes in Fitzy and he is merely going to all these job interviews to gain an insight into the workings of other clubs so he can improve things at St Mirren. Tony gives him permission to speak to everyone because he is in on the scam. its all part of the master plan. JR will lead us to Glory next season. Pass me another one of those Cocktails Tony's drinking............
  9. On my way. It's absolutely pishing it down in Edinburgh. Definitely a day for the water proof jackets. Hope it clears up for the game.
  10. How much will this years ticket be then. I believe a Season ticket for Hamilton last season was £180. Saints season tickets were £310-£350 unless you got the early bird offer. https://www.statista.com/statistics/473364/scottish-premiership-teams-cheapest-season-tickets-soccer-uk/ Anyone willing to pay more than £325 for 17 games (normally £25 a game or £425 for them all) I had a season ticket for the west stand last season. Offer me an early bird £300 for this season which means I could afford to miss 5 games and still break even and I'll take the gamble. A ST only makes business sense if you can get to every game. Then again there is rarely business sense in football. Come on Saints give us unbelievably good deal on the early Bird renewals. £180 is wishful thinking but anything under £300 might sell a few more
  11. As EAB says the Hole in the wall is your best bet. There are another couple of pubs which run buses but unless you know someone you'll struggle to get a ticket. The hole in the wall distribute them on a first come, first served irrespective of what team you support. You should see the pub as you come out the Rail Station. It's across the main road on the adjacent street. You cross a car park or something to reach it. When you walk in you'll think its some sort of bistro but The bus tickets are sold upstairs in another bar where the football fans meet . They serve food up there too. The Falkirk fans are always welcoming but there are usually more of us than them. The bus also brings you back after the game, I believe, but I've never made the return journey. I usually cadge a lift. I'm definitely going to the match but i'm not yet sure whether I will take the train or the car. After the last few weeks a dry Saturday seems like a good idea but then again it's only Monday. I'll probably have changed my mind come Saturday. Looking forward to The Alex Smith Tribute. I'm sure we'll give him a great send off.
  12. Old memories. Flooding back now. Staying in the watermill. Got a sea view and now drinking in the Craig Dhu. I was brought up in there but it's the first time in 30 years I've been back. No cnut here. They must have heard I was coming.
  13. This is our first non-must win game since 18 months ago. (Apart from diddy cups which I'm happy to sacrifice for the big prize) not sure what to expect tonight. No pressure. It will be wierd. Hope Sammy gets his 9 in A row and makes it 10 against the ton. Well done Joma Jack and his swashbuckling Saints. North Berwick saints mobilised and on their way. Hope the party never ends. See you all tonight buds.
  14. Looks like I have two spare tickets for the west stand, for sale, I'll be in the Last Post and probably the Bankhouse between 1245 and 1430 if any one is looking for any let me know.
  15. Touche. Yes true. Very true and I was sober then. Hopefully rectify that tonight [emoji482] [emoji482] [emoji482]
  16. Mrs ELS now dragged me out of pub. Fecking getting dragged round shops now. Bored while she's trying on new gear. Wallet will take a hammering. It's not all glitz and glamour on the road. Can't wait to check into hotel and dump her.
  17. Hang on I'll analyse your post and re-evaluate it until reorganised into a desired response[emoji482] [emoji482] [emoji482] [emoji482]
  18. I'm in the pub and you're no.[emoji481][emoji481][emoji481][emoji481][emoji481]
  19. Good on you bud. I suppose I'm living the dream. In the pub already mate. I'll have a long lie in Dundee tomorrow. Maybe climb the law tomorrow now I'm used to the dizzy heights at the top.
  20. In Dundee. It is Baltic. Wear you St Mirren bonnets guys n gals.
  21. Overcast in Perth. Should be in Dundee by 12 for lunch. Mrs ELS will supervise me till about 6 and keep me out of trouble till I Dump her for the saints. [emoji898][emoji481][emoji481][emoji481][emoji481]
  22. There's a shit load of football chat here on what essentially is a drinking thread. Anyone else hitting this pub for a drink tonight
  23. North Berwick. North Bank mobilised and on their way. Should be in Dundee by midday and staying over tonight. See you all there Buds.
  24. Well, that was a interesting experience, first time since Raith Rovers pumped us 2-0 at Kirkcaldy and the Billy the fish, throw out, catastrophe, that I travelled to a match by car. I was picked up in Stirling by my usual drinking bud who was behind the wheel and I thought it was only fair to encourage his temperance by staying of the Drink too. Brechin was bouncing when we arrived early and rather than sit in the ground for an hour and a half we went exploring. Got as far as stables Bar, met some buds outside and sort of, got dragged in. Apparently, all the pubs in Brechin were bouncing and Stables was no exception. Inside and out Buds were everywhere, and large queues were evident at the various bars inside. We found a wee bothy bit at the back where the Brechin Fans were drinking, and the temperance plan was amended to just one pint. The Brechin guys were sound. “Morton Fans are scum.” We were told Morton fans had smashed the pub window on their last visit and were no longer welcome. United in our recognition that Morton were bad news, we were made very welcome but warned not to use the F word in their company. “Fur f**ks sake don’t use the F word please” they all said. Who would have thought Forfar was a sweary word? At the ground, After one pint, (don’t tell my Bud I sneaked a second) I was met by a very nice steward who gave me directions to the club bar. I never even asked him, but I must have looked desperate. Unfortunately, my driving Bud put the Kybosh on that idea and from 2.30pm onward I sat in the stand and soaked up the Atmosphere. I hate to use the F word, but the atmosphere was, as many have said, Flat. It was flatter than the tyre of the bus that punctured on the A9. The game was a bit of a non-event and once again Morton brought bad news, but on the Bright side we got three points and we get to do it all again on Tuesday. Normal service will be resumed on Tuesday. Public transport, Pubs and Parties will be back on the agenda and the atmosphere will be super charged. The stewards won’t be as friendly, and Dundee with their “Get your Drum to Feck” approach might not be as welcoming as Brechin, but We have a history of winning League titles in Dundee and on Tuesday night we’ll make history there again. Tuesday Night is Champions League Night and we shall be Championies Championies! Championies! Ole! Ole! Ole! Championies! Championies! Ole! Ole! Ole!
