  1. I agree wholeheartedly. What would also be very necessary and helpful is a simple document (online and hardcopy) which shows the anticipated cashflow in each of the years until the CIC clears the loan debt. Let's have everything in simple terms we can all understand. I can't really believe that it has taken till this late in the stage to ask the social funders if they are okay to go public. Communication overall is very poor and given the model of the involvement of so many fan 'investors' on an ongoing basis it's fundamental that is done well IMO. A quick look here shows the fairly random is hindering the proposal and there's not much time to sort it out. One-to-one chats or occasional meetings don't work for a sizeable number of fans I would think. It seems it is no one's job to make sure those with an interest out there are fully informed. It's almost a cliche that you need to provide the right information, at the right time to people by their preferred method of communication. But it's what successful organisations do. I am largely for a CIC. But I must admit it's hard to flow all the changes that have taken place if there is isn't a single definitive, easy to understand document `with cashflow projections, names of social funders and the decision making processes outlined (an organisational chart?) to dissect by this time. How can anyone commit with confidence without this? Not carping just requesting a more coherent approach to make a decision with as much evidence as I can.
  2. Sitting midfielder, 2 forwards, left back, goalkeeper and possibly a right sided midfielder would be ideal. Suddenly looks like a busy window. I'd also have brought a right back but that won't happen as we have kept both.
  3. Are you suggesting Gordon and Tony aren't supporters and haven't invested in St.Mirren over the years? Surely they are perfectly placed to be on the interim board.
  4. 9 league goals for ICT this season. Young enough to improve at 25. Fit all season. Tall strong player with a bit of pace. More than a touch of the Luther Blissett's about him though. Could be a very good signing for us.
  5. To be fair if it's a wind up it's Buddie's first. Is he a sleeper?? Anyhow here's who it could be Albert Junior Hillyard Andrew Mendes
  6. I wonder what business we can do right now with the increasing likelihood of R*ng*rs and the terms of the TV deal being reduced? Have we any clue what our budget might be next season?
  7. AFAIK the club stopped paying (re)signing on fees a number of years ago?
  8. Since you don't know yet how it wil be spent then it might never be meaningful cash then. What a load of old style dried up white dog keech your argument is. Unlike most of Danny's signings this season and some of those he scrambled together the season before will have overperformed relative to their salaries. Sampson, McGregor, McAusland, Tesselaar, McGowan, Hasselbaink and Thompson have all been great signings. Only Teale and Mooy have failed to live up to their billing. So the chances he will hit the mark again.
  9. Hamilton fan posted we were after Mensing. Silly season starting already. Anyway IMO we need a strong central midfielder, a decent striker and a right back in. I know we won't bring in a right back, but I am at loss as to why we would resign both Barron (crocked frequently) and DVZ (very suspect in defence). Sensible thing to do would have been to bring in a dependable right back who can defend and then offer DVZ a one year deal. Hopefully Barron will be healthy for the season, but it's an unnecessary gamble I believe. Nothing against Barron as he's solid defender though I see no reason to have players in the squad who are typically out for long periods. It's like paying them double wages for playing time.
  10. TBH it wouldn't surprise me at all if Danny is aiming high whoever it is. Guy and Robertson doesn't strike me as players who will be on big salaries. We managed to find money for Teale and Thompson (even if he gets less than he would elsewhere) and we have the comparative luxury of the tv money from the Scottish Cup and more from our league position.
  11. Doolan is under contract for another season I've been told.
  12. They certainly came across as an organisation to avoid. The way they were casually talking about replacing the manager currently in the middle of a relegation struggle if they got control stank.
  13. I know Dave rates Doolan highly and told me would do a very good job for us. The other Thistle player he thinks is SPL material is Paul Cairney.
  14. The plot thickens... http://www.saintmirren.net/pages/?p=11389
  15. Of course there a few other very significant shareholders not part of the consortium who would be highly likely to back SG. Somebody out there will probably have the figures. Not to mention the handfuls of shares that supporters have. I know what way we'd all vote.
  16. On the last para fishing expedition first off how would you understand what it is to be fan anymore? And the directors must have lost that business instinct in a moment of madness to buy a heap of worthless shares, remortgage their houses, spend endless hours working for St.Mirren and so on. Keep trying...
  17. Realy enjoyed The Wind that shakes the Barley. Seen quite a few Ken Loach movies going right back to Kes and they usually draw you in. My Name is Joe and Sweet Sixteen (lovely setting!) are great as well. Looking for Eric made me laugh partly just because it was him. The Help just arrived this morning. Better be good...
  18. Cheers. I don't have Sky but the pub does...
  19. Off topic but what's the chances of seeing the quarter-final online on the BBC when you live in England?
  20. He's played 80 games in his career and he's 28. Scored 37 goals. Good if ever fit.
  21. I'd like to elevate the quality of the debate significantly. Takes one to know one.
  22. Plus the likely salary increase offered to Goodwin.
  23. The Juniors. A change someone from PG is visting for footballing purposes and not the Sheriff Court for a trial...
  24. That would be 3 players away and potentially none in. Seems risky given the squad is pretty thin as it is.
