  1. Wouldn't surprise me but that's really disappointing if true. We can't have a player at Saints midfielder fast approaching 20 goals in one season and expect to keep him for the following season. He's going to be a top player in England at some point I think. I suppose we should be grateful that we got to enjoy a player of that calibre for a while. Anyone remember the reaction to his first handful of matches?
  2. Of course I'm OK. We won on Monday night and I had a great night's sleep. I've had my first covid jab with a second due in a few weeks. Covid restrictions are being removed and life is returning to normal. Why would I not be OK? I have no idea what you mean by bringing up Peter Weir but I'm sure that after a few coffees this morning I'll get over it. Life is awesome. For all the difficulties people face in life in this country (and all the many, and seemingly endless, problems still needing resolved), there's never been a better time in the entire history of mankind to be alive right now in this part of the world. I genuinely wish more people like you could take a step back, get a little perspective and appreciate that a bit more.
  3. That's bloody HUGE. The cock and balls on the floor is a nice touch. 🤣
  4. Well, you've amused yourself and that's the main thing.
  5. Who, apart from BOK, is worrying about the cost?
  6. One of them has genuinely held beliefs. The other has superficial beliefs. You can spot them a mile away. Endless virtue signalling is one classic way of spotting them for example. Does this person constantly refer to people who don't share his view as being cunts or morally repugnant in some way? The inference being that he himself is somehow holding a virtuous viewpoint rather than just a viewpoint. People who routinely call other people morally repugnant need closely watching and kept away from any position of power and influence. You shouldn't trust them. I remember the champagne socialists of the 80's and 90's as great examples of this. Bud the Baker is of this sort of hypocritical, fake tradition. I'm surprised you have to ask this TBH.
  7. Peter Weir? WTF are you wittering on about? What does this have to do with plastic lefties?
  8. You're probably right about that. I've assumed £500 per person for a 48 hour return ticket and 20 people travelling. TBH it's been so many years since I travelled abroad that I'm probably out by a factor of 2 or so.
  9. I don't recall anyone saying we'd have the full £3m for our playing budget. The context is that we'd have a guaranteed £3m coming in and that would more than compensate for the total costs associated with playing 4 of those ties abroad. By some considerable margin. Cost of flying people to Eastern Europe? I imagine you'd want them flying out the night before the game, staying the one night and then flying back straight after the game so that's probably about £10k on flights? Then you'd be looking at maybe £2k on a single night's accommodation with food and a few hundred quid on hiring a park for the day of the match. So maybe ball park £15k per trip, 4 away trips from 8 games is £60k. Now under the old financial rules I reckon the club would struggle to recoup £15k of expenses plus whatever home game expenses there would be against a Faroe Islands team or a far Eastern Europe team but a £3m minimum prize for taking part would be a different kettle of fish. Or am I missing something here?
  10. I think Jim is nervous about playing Quaner or Dennis for a full 90 minutes for fear of them getting injured again. The priority is the Cup now. Maybe play one of them up top for an hour and the other for 30 minutes with McGrath playing off them would be the way to go to avoid having to use Erwin.
  11. In theory, he should start at the weekend alongside Dennis. The problem is neither of those are fit enough to last an entire match hence why Erwin is being used I think.
  12. None of that changes the fact that you are a plastic lefty bud. It's easy to be a hand-wringing left winger from the comfort of your armchair. I have no issue with genuine left wingers. I don't agree with their viewpoints but I respect them. Plastic lefties like you on the other hand, are another kettle of fish.
  13. You've just broken the forum's cringe-o-meter with that post FFS.
  14. Ach. I can't believe anyone still gets offended at the utter shite coming out of Boris's mouth. None of this should be getting leaked.
  15. Nothing between the teams still in the Cup. Unless Hibs win it, the 5th placed team will miss out on Europe. All to play for. If we needed any more motivation to get past this match tomorrow night, that was it right there.
  16. Yeah. I like the fact were players are doing well and have a year left, we are still looking to extend it now. Rather than the old days of having contracts run down and decent players going for nothing. We need to move forward, get quality signed up so if others come in for them we make money on them to get other quality in. It's the only way we will progress further rather than resetting or planning to finish 11th each year. I like this changed way of working. I hope over time it gets better and stronger. Agree. The only potential fly in the ointment is a couple of players talking about wanting to wait until the season is over before sorting things out. TBH, that's exactly what I would say if I had no intention of committing to a new contract without actually coming out and saying that. It's a classic delay tactic. I just hope that isn't the case here with Durmus and Jak. Will be a lot more comfortable once they've actually signed or indicated otherwise.
  17. What's happening in India is the direct consequence of endemic corruption, an outdated class system and a willingness to spunk countless billions on nuclear weapons and space exploration instead of on a functioning health service and ending real poverty beforehand.
  18. FFS, do you do ANY research before posting shite? It took 10 seconds of Googling to find that image was from mid-2020. You're right about the halfwit comment. Just wrong about who to aim it at.
  19. Another thread disappearing down the pan due to the usual suspects. Fabulous. Sigh!
  20. Oh, I meant to add. A much bigger problem is racism coming from the crowds. That is much easier to identify and punish. Certainly no club found guilty of racism from the crowd should be allowed anywhere near European competition and there should be strict liability on that score. Same with sectarianism or coins/bottles etc thrown onto the pitch.
  21. I suppose the appeal will iron out how strong their evidence really is. It's a tough one for the authorities though. Racists are generally clever enough to make sure they engage in this stuff when nobody else can hear and/or with their hand over their mouths. Their team-mates won't give them up and the opposition can't be trusted so if the ref or linesmen don't hear it and TV is inconclusive it's difficult to see any justice being done.
  22. I didn't see this incident but if they've found enough evidence to hit him with a 10 game ban then they have enough evidence to ban him for life. I think this is probably the only message they can send out which will work - particularly in these Eastern European countries where racism seems to be even more of a problem than over here.
