Get Ethan into defensive midfield now! He can provide the protection for guys like Stephen McGinn, Tansey, Magennis, Lyons or Macpherson.

We've got enough players that Dolittle.

We were a lot better with Hodson in midfield to do the defensive role, allowing McGinn to be more effective further up the park. Stephen McGinn is one of our best players but is not a defensive midfielder. We need someone else to do that role.

I think Saturday showed we need someone to play as a defensive midfielder if we're going to start Lyons, McGinn and Tansey as our 3 midfielders in the centre of the park. Second half, Hodson went into midfield and we looked better, definitely letting them in behind our midfield less. If Hodson goes, I'd hope McLaughlin would go to left back and Ethan into that defensive midfield role.

Just the one signing today then? I think we should upgrade to a signing in the afternoon and one in the evening.

It's fairly obvious we should be playing the best players available regardless of whether they're on loan, permanent signings and/or have come through our youth system. I do like Cammy Macpherson and think he will play a big role in keeping us up. If OK thinks Lyons is better and they're both competing for the same position then he should pick Lyons.

How do you know he's no better than Cammy Macpherson or the other players we already have? He hasn't even played a game for us yet.
