  1. Even if Sheffield take the league there is still the Champions League place for finishing 2nd. Into Europe we go (hopefully)
  2. Bad couple of results form the guys. Not so bad at Sheffield but the performance at Nottingham was woeful. Two d-men back on Saturday and a Home/Away double header with Edinburgh this weekend. 4 points should see us back on track. Either way it's been a great season.
  3. Brand new bus and it broke down around 40 miles outside Sheffield. Not the best preparation. Lost 0-2, however, that was to be expected and anything else would have been a bonus. Still on track
  4. I will be tweeting updates as usual @ClanStats

  6. It's effectively a 3 horse race after this weekend. Heading down to Sheffield on Wednesday and Nottingham on Saturday. Clan have no home game next weekend. Anything from those 2 games is a massive bonus.
  7. For anybody that is new to Ice Hockey, the fans forum has a section that explains some of the rules http://purplearmy.rocks/board/27/thing-stupid-question
  8. You might not like ice hockey or the NFL, fair enough. There is no need to denigrate those who do. IMO this attitude is typical of the negativity that surrounds Scottish Football and is driving fans away.
  9. Regulation Wins - it is the first tie breaker when teams are equal on points - like goal difference.
  10. A 5-0 win away to Dundee last night. Still a 3pt lead at the top.
  11. Clan defeat Belfast Giants 1-0 and go 3 points clear at the top of the table in front of 3,576 fans.
  12. I'm a season ticket holder at Braehead Clan and have been since it started 5 years ago. Crowds have steadily risen and most Saturday night games are over 3,000. Last Friday at home to Fife was a sell out at least 36 hours before face off. Over 3,500. Very fast and entertaining sport where you are treated like an adult and can have a few drinks while you watch. Family orientated and kids love it. Great atmosphere at the games and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
  13. I went to Castlehead and remember being herded up with the rest of my year to the Russell Institute to get our BCG's (?)
  14. They did when I was at school
  15. Was there any real need to try and belittle a minority sport thats on your doorstep ?
  16. Season is over for the team now. I think the reason they chose Braehead was so as not to alienate Paisley/Glasgow/Ayr etc. A genuine west of Scotland thing. 2,500 at Braehead on Friday night for the play-off game. Clan went down 1-3, went ahead 4-3 then lost out 4-5. Great atmosphere, great entertainment and a few fights too. Not everyone's cup of tea, maybe it is just something different.Time will tell. Point is Saints/Scottish football can't afford to leak fans. We are treated like mushrooms, fed shit and kept in the dark. I am, of course, referring more to league reconstruction. A genuine opportunity to do something radical and what do we get ? Same old (firm) shit.
  17. Finishing 5th out of 10 in the league was a great achievement. But don't think this has anything to do with success. Just all round better entertainment and value for money. No religious poison and a genuine family sport. The Aladdin Cup was the equivalent to the Tennants Sixes sort of. Scottish Foitball is shit. Like Poz said, if I didn't have an allegiance to my team, I would have quit years ago.
  18. I still love the Saints. Just bored rigid with Scottish football. Complete tedium. It would help if we had a go. TBH this year has been the straw. So looked forward to the 'new beginning' we were promised. Free flowing, attacking football etc. If anything we are more negative this year. Haven't been to as many away games this year. There isn't a team in the league the Clan hasn't beaten this year and they won the Aladdin Cup in their first season. Will pick and choose my Saints games next year I think. Clan season ticket isn't much dearer and you get 28 games. Maybe I'll bottle it and renew. Oh and all the Clan fans are positive and get right behind the team. Yet to meet a moaning faced one yet.
  19. Sad to say it seems a common complaInt. I started going to the ice hockey this year. Sitting indoors with a beer. Good atmosphere. Good banter with other teams fans. NO OLD FIRM. Good entertainment. Competitive team. Went down to Nottingham on Saturday for my first away game and had a ball. Drinking with some of the Nottingham supporters all night. Seriously thinking of ditching my Saints season ticket for a Clan one next year. Seems far better value for money.
  20. I use girefox. To what file are you referring Sid ?
  21. Why would we sign another centre back ? I know I have only seen him for 45 mins, but on that he showing he is behind Potter, Mair, McGregor & McAusland IMO. So is Danny trying to offload Mair & has Cheesy gone back to QOS on loan as another poster suggested ? If so Danny must have seen something in this guy in training. IMO he looked like a bombscare with the ball at his feet against Ayr, what would he be like against SPL opposition ? (still not convinced it is the same guy btw)
  22. Didn't look like the same guy to me.
  23. day off and Saints game tonight :-)
