  1. very well said. Guy next to me was giving McGinn pelters throughout the match. Not one thing came off for the lad. Simple things were made to look difficult... But he never hid, never shirked a tackle, never stopped trying and never stopped looking for the ball. He had a howler, but I'd take McGinn in his worst form in a starting jersey over a myriad of recent year posing imposters!!! Let's support him through this! Remember when McLean's form dipped? The abuse he took! People questioning his effort! This will happen with young players and this is truly where we, as SUPPORTERS can really make a difference.
  2. I think we need to trust Thommo's judgement on this. Surely he wouldn't put his career at risk.
  3. Not Stephen McGinn... He has joined Dundee till the end of the season.
  4. I'm actually starting to look forward to this one. Giving two Thistle fan friends a lift through... so the banter on the way back will be interesting! !!
  5. So do Vanzy and Shuggy... neither of whom were ever any good at it anyway!
  6. I know what you are saying... but the culprits vs Dundee were McGinn, McLean and Arquin. I reckon all three would have scored those same chances more often than not. The positive is that we ARE creating chances now. Under Craig we were lucky to create more than 2 in any one match! If Dayton can add to the quality deliveries then we will have strengthened wisely. One thing for sure... if he shapes up then I'd rather have one Arquin than numerous wasters as has been the case for some time. I reckon Teale has his work cut out creating a squad from the ruins he inherited... but I like the methodical way he is going about his business. Centre half next... and then, if a decent one is available, a striker. That would be my priority list.
  7. I don't! Why waste Mallan in a holding role when we can see how effective he is going forward. We wasted McLean there... let's not make the same mistake again. McGinn and Osborne are a better partnership to hold the fort, protect the defence and let Mallan, Dayton and McLean run amok.
  8. Sorry... can't agree. Moving Kenny forward still means dropping someone. Ball Marwood and Caldwell haven't featured for some time. McLear was being played wide... Gowser went awol out there and was ineffective. McGinn may not be in his best run of form, but he's a better player with a much higher chance of realising his potential.
  9. Same team but no start for Wylde... He didn't do enough on Saturday to merit it. Kelly should start there.
  10. He sometimes has a good game The next ones often shite It disnae really matter as His auld man sees him right!
  11. I know where you are coming from... but bottom line... Through work and other commitments I have missed so many games in the last few seasons that I would have saved money on a pay as you go basis. That bothers me not one iota. I just don't get the green eyed "boot in the baws" attitude at all In any incentive, some will gain more than others. Why not just be happy for those wjo benefit and instead of moaning, use that wasted energy to campaign for other benefits for all?
  12. This is to football chants what individual processed slices are to cheese!
  13. I just came! How long have you been writing porn?
  14. Now that I totally agree with. That said, one guarantee... WHATEVER they try, someone will find fault. Off topic? Naaaah... Thistle and Saints are pioneering a great scheme this Friday to benefit real Saints fans... sounds relevant to me!
  15. I understand that Drew... I just wonder if this is one of the few ways the club can indeed give something back to ST holders as it is well neigh impossible to give them a financial benefit at home matches. As I said, I have no idea who is funding the scheme. I also agree that £22 is excessive... but it is comparably excessive. £5 for under 18's is commendable though. I have been to two games at Firhill thos season as a neutral because we both got on for £20. Would be silly for me not to go to see my own team when we can both get in for £20. For me, that is closer to fair pricing I'd like to see across tbe board.
  16. ST sales are vital to the club to inject cash at a crucial point in the financial year. Non ST holders attending throughout the season are equally vital in maintaining the cash flow and keeping the club afloat. Neither is more important than the other, and both are crucial to the clubs survival. That said, I genuinely fail to see how any incentive could be equally applied across the board. That is why I have been grateful for any bonus I have received and equally supportive of any and every effort to benefit others and increase attendance.
  17. So if it is near the end of the season and non season ticket holders are given a tenner off admission, which I would be delighted with if it increased attendance, how do you suggest that benefit is made available to all? Genuine question.
  18. Each to their own Drew. In general £22 is too expensive for a football match... but it is only £2 more than we charge... and less than Accies, Killie, ICT, Dons and probably most others. Non ST holders WILL get incentives between now and the end of the season. They do EVERY season. That is right and I support it. To grudge ST holders a wee discount is petty IMO. We don't look for it or ask for it. I reckon it has the potential to be a cracking match in a great atmosphere.
  19. Totally agree and have said as much for years. Max prices for any match should be £15 for adults and £5 for 18 and unders plus concessions.
  20. This might well be one of the very few ways the club can give something back to ST holders for their support. Between now and the end of the season, I will fully support every initiative to encourage increased attendance, even though I won't benefit personally. Not sure which club is subsidising this particular offer, but criticising it is petty and surly. Outragously unfair is expecting a tip for simply doing your job... not an initiative to try and encourage support!!!
  21. Really looking forward to this one. We could really learn a lesson from Thistle about ticketing incentives. Don't get me wrong, I reckon we're second best in the SPL for standard pricing, but Thistle do it best.
