  1. It appears that the Dublin attacker was arrested in April for possession of a knife and went to court in May. He may have been motivated by a recent decrease in his benefits and was not politically or religiously aligned. The attack was not impulsive as he waited behind the crèche for ten minutes prior to the attack. He was given a deportation order in 2003 (don’t know why) and overturned it in 2008 with help of NGO. He was then naturalised as Irish. Oh and Connor Mcgregor is not happy about it all. All this information is available from the Irish times, Sunday times and Irish mirror. Nothing on the BBC about it since the riot story 2 days ago.
  2. It’s actually foot in mouth disease
  3. If it’s any consolation to you my cilice is itching like hell! I am not the first and won’t be the last to post stuff on here without fact checking. It did remind me of a story that a colleague told me some years ago, he moved from Glenburn to inchinnan, he was in the local pub and someone asked how long he had lived in the village? He said 20 years and the local said “ oh just a newcomer then”
  4. Apology accepted, thank you. Now if we can come to terms then so can Israel and Gaza 👍🏻
  5. Two questions, who is we ? And who is the pitchfork brigade? I explained to you it was a late night post and I didn’t check the individual history of the two young men. I made an assumption based on the known demographics of immigrants to Ireland (male, single, 16-45) Ireland has seen a rise in population via immigration of around 25% since 2016, I assumed wrongly he was one of these people.
  6. Heading out to the game so don’t have much time to look at all your points, however it’s good to discuss these issues like adults. I like many others gave up on the BBC and ITV a long time ago due to their patent bias. I think if you were really honest with yourself you may well agree. With the rise of online content comes risks and opportunities, if you are a middle of the road person like myself then you can look at both sectors and come up with your own verdict. With this in mind I think the interview below sums up very accurately the causes of the riots. I very much agree with both commentators who both give differing opinions. Sorry FS it’s from YouTube…..
  7. They have chosen there words well, “no link between crime “ I don’t think anyone is saying there is? What is being said by many Irish residents is there is a housing crisis and yet the country continues to receive lots of immigrants (mostly single men) single men are not family units so require individual homes. Although I don’t have the stats to back it up, there does appear to be a link between mass stabbings and immigrants. This is not just a Irish phenomena it’s happening right across Europe, alas it is very rarely reported by the MSM in the U.K.
  8. Sorry Portmahomack you’ve lost me? The articles say one was 33 years old and on the other 23 year old . I didn’t see any comment on when they arrived in Ireland. It was a 2am post so if it’s inaccurate I will retract it.
  9. Two articles from the Guardian and BBC trying to convince us that medieval England was not a white homogenous country (despite the DNA evidence to suggest otherwise) but a multicultural society with black people not only being victims of the plague but also being victims racism! Yes it’s not 1984 it’s 2023 and this is the lies that are being taught to our children. Luckily there are still people out there that are ready to challenge these post truth charlatans (see video below)
  10. Watched the first episode of the new two doors down series tonight. I felt it had run it’s course after watching the last series (tired, lazy puns with very little originality) well I can now say I have done a 360 degree turn. The return of Doon Mackichan has reignited the whole cast and appears to be the missing piece that was needed to return it to its original glory. Looking forward to the next episode.
  11. Your correct that it’s been brewing for some time, however recent weeks have seen two big cases come to court which has had a big impact on the psyche of Irish people ( see below) both cases have involved young males from abroad who are new to the country. Both cases involve the use of knives with the case involving the LGBT community involving a beheading. Needless to say you won’t find much content on the British MSM about the cases which is a puzzle in its self.
  12. Unfortunately if you dare point out the unbiased facts of the matter you are labelled a racist or bigot. There is a severe lack of tolerance in society now, the points you make are valid but because politics is so polarised now you have to fall into either right or left wing. Most people I have lived and worked with all my life are somewhere in the middle and can see that the current asylum system is very unfair to the tax payer and to those immigrants who go through official channels to work and study in the country.
  13. Is it the chainsaw that gives it away 🤣
  14. No way , these two are far to centre right for me. I would be Javier. He has his work cut out though, 150% inflation and 60% poverty rate in Argentina. That’s the result of 40 years of socialism.
  15. I don’t agree with your rationale here about forum members not having knowledge about the club. I have always found the forum a great place to get information on the club and it’s business in general. Take the Kibble partnership as an example, there is no way the club would provide the information that I have found on the threads on BAWA. I suppose asking forum members if they know would always be my first port of call before seeking further advice from the club directly. Given that I won’t be completing it makes it a moot point. Your last point about motivation to post such questions on the forum comes across as passive/aggressive and childish in nature. I have as much right to ask/post comments as anyone else on here.
  16. Definitely need to change the title of the thread to president Michelle Obama or president Trump.
  17. I have been following this over the last week and can’t help but notice the similarities between the U.K. and Netherlands when it comes to the issues that were discussed by the electorate as important, the Dutch have a terrible housing crisis with the average house price being around £330000, they have what they term a “crisis of existence’ with electricity/gas prices very high, they have food banks being used by the lower middle classes for the first time ever, they are concerned about uncontrollable immigration and they want a “nexit” If you only took heed of the U.K. MSM you would not be blamed for thinking that these were all problems because of the Tory government, however it appears to be a Western European problem.
  18. Well it is a stmirren forum is it it not? A place to discuss saints related issues? You could of followed your own advice and simply replied to this thread or ignored it, you chose the former 👍🏻
  19. Got this today via email from the club. As an employer it’s the clubs duty to make sure it’s compliant with the equality act 2010 with regards to its employees, but why ask the season ticket holder’s? I found a similar request from Plymouth Argyle (see below) It’s voluntary and I won’t be completing it as I have already been burnt by Arnold Clark’s data breach.
  20. Watched the trailer looks good, although every time I see Paterson Joseph I just see Johnston from Peep show. I was the same with breaking bad and Malcolm in the middle 😅
