Guess I got lucky 15 years ago - my one and only visit and I found the inauguration poster no problem. I took photos, painted a reproduction and sold a few copies - no doubt some of the forum members have one. I gave one to the club and it used to sit beside the Barcelona Cup in the old Love Street trophy room.

Precisely the reason for me postponing my clear out of Saints shirts on eBay.. indefinitely..

Jesus. That is one of the worst things I've ever seen on TV. Ever. One of the cast is a Saints supporter as well..

Hope there's a few quid earmarked for that eyesore of a building opposite Greggs on Moss Street (one time fireworks shop). That's an embarrassment being so close to the centre and on the pedestrian route up from the station

Been reminded about Poltalloch House, another place worth visiting in the Crinan / Moine Mhor / Kilmartin area. Not been for a couple of years so I'm not sure what kind of state it's in now but it was a proper old school haunted house when I last visited - the kind of place you read about in ghost books when you were a kid. It's an abandoned stately home, reclaimed by nature with trees growing through windows and all that kind of stuff. There's even an old ruined chapel nearby complete with ancient gravestones at jaunty angles! Best visited at night with torches for maximum effect, but even in daylight it's creepy as f**k

At the top of Carnasserie Castle there's a fine collection of 19th century vandalism. Among the ornately carved 'tags' is one by a guy from Paisley, dated sometime in the 1800s. I'm sure I've got a photo of it somewhere, will try to find it..

Wee drive up to Crinan - jump on one of the boats that goes out to the Corryvreckan Whirlpool. Unique, and depending on the weather, a wee bit scary. Kilmartin Valley is also close by, if neolithic monuments are your thing.

It's on until March 1st, then moves on to Dumfries. Well worth a look.

New exhibition of Harry Papadopoulos photography opens this Friday at the museum. Loads of great shots of Postcard era Scottish bands, a couple of cool Cramps pics, Bowie, Iggy, Marvin, Specials and, most interestingly, some pics of Paisley's punk scene from around 1980 (including a great photo of The Fegs with a 'Ha Ha Funny Polis' backdrop and at least one pic of the old Bungalow Bar). And it's free.

It would be great if this was something worth seeing, but I'm afraid I can't get excited at the prospect. Leaving aside the fact that the exhibition will come at the end of what is shaping up to be the worst season in the club's history, it also feels like it's at least 2 years too late - the club's 135th birthday and League Cup win were perfect opportunities to stage something special that people would have been keen to see. This feels like something that's been arranged to fill a gap in the museum's calendar. Added to this, I've already discovered that many panels from the previous Saints exhibition will be recycled for this one, meaning there won't be anything new or exciting to see. It's a sad fact that the museum's collection contains no objects connected to St Mirren's history so any exhibition, like the previous one, has to rely on items being loaned by fans and many people are understandably reluctant to hand in anything of real value or interest. I just think there's no point in putting on something like this unless it's going to be something really special. I have serious doubts this one will be.

For reasons I've yet to figure out, Paisley Museum is staging another Saints exhibition this July. It's being curated by a guy from the Observatory who has absolutely no interest in football and knows precisely nothing about St Mirren. Should be good. ETA the exhibition's named 'Back Of The Net'. Like I said, the guy knows nothing about St Mirren..
