  1. So why do you emphasise that "leftists" are absolute animals? I think that there are more than a few "rightists" who fall into this category. Hitler was only in power for 12 years while Stalin and Mao each had more than double this term in power. Just think how many Hitler could have done away with if he had really got into his swing!
  2. Extremism to the fore. Lots of right wingers worship Adolf Hitler.
  3. All this shows is that Covid 19 is not the only cause of death in care homes. Even before Covid people died of other causes.
  4. I doubt whether you read it properly! And you are , of course, using you retrospectoscope.
  5. It could also have turned serious on the way north. What could have been the outcome of this? I am happy for you that you are willing to accept his story. As for the fact that, in order to assess his fitness to drive back to London after recovery from his Covid 19 infection, he undertook a half hour drive, sat on a river bank for 15 minutes and then drove back to his parents' farm makes me question his reasoning. Half an hour's drive on rural roads versus several hours on the A1/M1? Oh! and he can't remember whether he had to add fuel to his tank at any time between leaving London and returning.
  6. I think everyone knows that it can be a very serious illness. I would assume that neither Cummings nor his wife did, as neither ended up in hospital. Can you really imagine Cummings driving from London to Durham while unable to leave a hospital bed or his wife seriously ill in the passenger seat?
  7. And I direct you to this statement. She(Ms Sturgeon) said: "These older people, so called delayed discharges had no medical need to be in hospital. "At that point we were getting ready for what we considered to be a tsunami of coronavirus cases into our hospitals, and our hospitals as it turned out were under huge pressure. "It would have exposed older people to enormous risk to leave them in hospitals at that point. "People say there should have been more testing and that is again a legitimate question, but what we knew then about the efficacy of testing asymptomatic people is different to what we know now. "At every stage we have done what we thought was best based on the knowledge that we had a at the time. Of course mistakes will have been made and we learn as our knowledge of this virus increases. But the suggestion that any of us acted recklessly or without due care and attention to older people is frankly one that is not true." You,of course, did not need hindsight as you would have relied on your crystal ball.
  8. Your addiction seems to making nonsensical posts on BAWA.
  9. This is a hypothetical question. The club is unlikely to survive for a year, far less 3 years, without a source of income!
  10. And here was I thinking that you were a pseudo-person.
  11. You are entitled to your opinion but people will make up their own minds whether or not to buy season tickets. You may think that it is stupid to buy a season ticket at the moment but I have no doubt that If knew where you spent your cash I would find items of expenditure that I would consider to be a waste of money.
  12. If you had taken the time to read Lucy's post properly instead of flying off the handle as you tend to do, you would have noticed that he raised the possibility/probability of the season ticket price being reduced if the 20-21 season is is shortened. Those who buy late would stand to gain.
  13. Goudie's Garage was quite separate from J&W Goudie, Funeral Directors and had their reception and workshop entrance at 7 West Street.
  14. Goudie's Garage(top right) closed many years ago and is now occupied by flats. Interestingly, according to Companies House, the company was only dissolved May 2018.
  15. I think you are complicating things. Surely the main reason for the lower number of graduates in the earlier years is that there were many fewer universities and university places. It is likely that the universities were able to recruit the more able candidates and that many of today' s university entrants would not qualify. In your subsequent post you said that you left academia because you were encouraged to award high grades to duff students. Does this not suggest that university standards have dropped and that it is much easier to gain a university place?
  16. Do you think it wasn't harder to get into university before that?
  17. https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/news/scotland/pandemic-planning-exercise-was-insufficient-to-prepare-for-covid-19-msps-told/ "She was asked about Exercise Silver Swan in 2015, where Scottish public services dealt with a simulated flu outbreak. The UK Government ran a similar exercise called Cygnus, though the results of neither have been published in full. The Health Secretary said: “In Scotland we had Silver Swan, which was in 2015, and predated Cygnus, but like Cygnus it focused on a pandemic flu situation. “Because at that time flu was considered globally to be the most likely infection that would be a pandemic. “The principal conclusion from that for the NHS in Scotland was the need to create the pandemic stockpile, which we did. “There was also a UK pandemic stockpile created for use across the four nations of the UK, so that stockpile was created to hold in case there was a pandemic.” She said Silver Swan was useful in preparing for the current pandemic, but Covid-19 behaves differently than flu." It looks likely that both governments underestimated the size of stockpile needed although the UK government had responsibility for building up the UK pile for all four nations..
  18. I am well aware that Scotland has a separate health service but Exercise Cygnus, run by Public Health England in 2016, revealed huge gaps in the preparedness for a 'flu pandemic but little action was taken by the UK government on its recommendations.
  19. There certainly were many fewer universities and university places in 1960!
  20. I was not putting it forward as an excuse and neither was FTOF; merely as an explanation1
  21. Seems to me he was suggesting that the UK government's preoccupation with Brexit and Scottish independence over the past few years distracted them from making proper preparations for dealing with a pandemic.
  22. And why does it have a Ladbrokes logo on the sleeve?
