The Tommy Craig Must Go Thread
Dave The Buddie replied to Flareybob's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
He surely can't last until Saturday. If he goes I feel we will get a decent crowd going along if he stays it will be a ghost town in our end. Worrying times indeed -

I said before and I will say it again a won't be back while Tommy is is still in charge with nearly a full team out in the cup at home we had 2 shots on target possession was about 30% and Tommy said we were playing the football he wanted us to play in the first half. Granted we were 1 up but ICT should have won this tie wi ease. It hurts as I have been a season ticket holder for years and overall I have never wanted any manager sacked other than Coughlin & Craig but have never missed games through choice until now but the board even though the board saved us from near extinction but a fear they will lose any legacy they have given us with persisting with their inadequate appointment of Tommy Craig. Please SG act now and save our season??? -

Every aspect of him being a manager is lacking with him so we should not be surprised that he can't fulfil interviews with the media. -

I am a season ticket holder along with my son and my £36 is going towards a few shandies on a night out tomorrow and I will sit and watch the results coming in and maybe treat myself to a Greggs steak bake.As long as TC is in charge I won't be back. Football has been honking. No confidence, no fight NO GOING!!!! -
I am usually all for positivity and I hope we can kick start our season but no matter how much positivity I try to muster it does not hide the fact that TC is not the man for the job. How many managers would get to Dec without a home win and joint bottom of the league. No club would keep the manager that brought those sort of results

Hope so. We need a new man in charge -
I totally agree they have to correct the shameful decision they made in appointing him and soon
-
I would take anybody including Danny Lennon
-
Embarrassing is having to watch my team getting beaten week in week out with a manager who is totally inept of all the qualities needed to lead a club and a BoDs who will not act after a shocking appointment of TC as the man to take us forward
-
Granted I am fuming as I type this but if the BoD don't bin this guy then we need to show our disapproval of the man in charge by the only way the board will take notice. I for one will be boycotting next weeks cup game against ICT if this clown is in charge. If our supporters all do the same they will have to take notice. So let's show them we won't take this cut price joke of a manager anymore

I am a season ticket holder and it breaks my heart 2 say 4 the first time a wont be back while Tommy Craig is in charge. It's not Tommy's fault he took the job on but they got rid of Danny Lennon because they wanted something different which is fair enough but to bring his number two in was not only the cheap option but a recipe for worse football than we had previously. We need a leader IMO we have brought through too many youngsters at the one time and played played some of the worst football ave ever seen. Please do us a massive favour BoD save our season and appoint a new manager who can keep us up before it's too late -

What other way do we tell our BoD that we don't want our current manager. I was going to buy a ticket for the cup game against Inverness but no chance now. I am a season ticket holder but after having a couple days to digest the performance on Sat I won't be back until TC is sacked. Saturday was the straw that broke the camels back as most of our performances this season have been honking. -

He won't command that again considering he has been sacked from two English Championship side and he has a fantastic relationship with big Thommo. Could give him a platform to get the job he has always wanted that being the Celtic job. With those previous salary he ain't short a bob or two -

If it was a new manager who came in and was not promoted from within and was trying to put his stamp on the team that different TC has been there for 3yr and when given his chance the football has got worse -

By all accounts TC is a fantastic coach but as a manager he simply has not got it. I would love to see Coyle with Thommo as his number 2 and being groomed as his successor and if they want keep Teale/Goodwin as player coaches then so be it. From a financial point of view it is crucial we stay up this season as Hearts & Rangers are destined to be in the top flight next season -

Like me and many I could not agree with this post more. After the game I felt anger now I just feel so disappointed and I feel if we replace the manager now we can salvage our season with a two week break coming up a new man will have time to pick up the players who's confidence must be shot -

Trying To Tread Water Until A Takeover
Dave The Buddie replied to Big Yards's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
I thought our season ticket sales are roughly the same as last couple of year if not that and dwindling pay at the gate attendances are surely caused by fans not feeling they are getting value for money on the pitch. If we had appointed a manager at the start of the season and not promoted within am sure season tickets sales would have been better and if we were performing better the pay at the gate prices would be better. For all the great things our board have done for our club I believe they have not along with the hierarchy of Scottish Football not sold our club commercially as much as they could have. Things such get a sponsor for the stadium etc. We and Scottish Football need to sell and market our product better but that needs to start for on the pitch performances because the dross we are watching at SMP is not good enough -
Trying To Tread Water Until A Takeover

Am hoping that we find a buyer soon but this is a massive gamble for us as a club because if we sell to fly by night businessmen. Well we have seen what has happened countless times with other clubs and I would hate for us to go through that. I am all for the policy "earn a pound spend a pound" as it safeguards our clubs future. The only frustrating decisions have been manager appointments under this board with Coughlin & Craig and strangely have one thing in common they were both number two's. Tell a lie they can't cut it either as a manager. We have to face reality we are a small club who are treading water in the top division but clubs similar to our size such as Inverness have had good runs in the league but they have also suffered relegation in the time we have been in the top division. Us fans have to be realistic the best ever we could hope for is a top 6 finish one season and a trophy every 25 years and the only way we would become anything greater would be if we were bought by a billionaire who is willing to throw away millions on us or at least double our average home attendance with both chances being slim to none. -

I am of the opinion that Marwood will not cut it at this level after watching him in the flesh but I can understand people reserving their opinion on any player until they have been given a run out in the team -
Also matured and is in his peak years as a striker. By all accounts had a decent goal scoring record in his travels. Billy would walk into our side easily ahead of Marwood, Ball & Caldwell. I would happily swap all 3 for him

Why Are We Struggling At Home?
Dave The Buddie replied to The Original 59er's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Never have I asked for a manager to be removed since John Coughlin but this one is not for staying IMO. I have been buying a season ticket for me and my boy for years and we have never been so uninterested in going along to games since Coughlin's era. We have been to 3 home games this season (Hamilton, Dundee & Celtic). Our performance have been awful. Last 2 home games we watched the results come in on Soccer Saturday as my boy was not interested in going along to watch the dross on show. If nothing changes soon I won't be going along to many games and certainly won't be renewing our tickets next season. Value for money no chance
