38 league starts Carey got, 46 overall in two years. Plenty of opportunities. Great ability, nowhere near consistent enough. Just my opinion based on the facts that are out there.

From what I saw Mair just responded to someone posting a video of a motivational talk. They said "Similar to DL's teamtalk?", to which Mair replied "Pretty much". Hardly having a go, unless he's said something else which I missed.

More special? Or more consistent. Carey, for all his talent, failed to deliver most of the time. How many free kicks did he send in to the stand, or behind for a goal kick? He was probably on a good wage, would have been looking for an increase and we've decided not to keep him on. Someone with less talent who can deliver more regularly would be an improvement for me.

We finished 11th in the league, so clearly improvement is needed. As many have said - not good enough. Danny's job is on the line next season, and if he feels the need to do a lot of business to improve the squad, then that's what will happen. The cup final squad are all legends because of what they achieved in the cup - that will never change. The fact is that too many of them never contributed enough over the course of the season. Our top contributors in terms of goals and assists were Thommo and Teale, who have been given new contracts. They've earned them, while others haven't. Simple as that. Big summer ahead.

Carey as a dead ball threat - 3 goals and 5 assists in 55 league games for Saints in the past two years. That's not enough to warrant keeping him for. I've said already I like him as a player, and have been waiting for him to really show what he can do, but he's never really done it. Never cemented a place in a team that finished 11th this season. I wish him well, and have no doubt I'll see more wonder goals from him, probably about once a season.

We'll know come August whether he knows what he's doing. Players out of contract can leave if they want, and there's no certainty regarding loan players coming back or not - not up to the manager. Of the players who are still under contract for another year, which players out of Guy, Adam and Imrie do you think it's madness to let go?

Well put. 3 goals in 15 league games on loan from Carey, 3 goals in 55 league games since signing permanently. Just not consistent enough. Has lots of ability, but something seems to be missing. Will probably come back and score against us, but won't prove to be any better a player than he was here, unless something changes within the boy himself.

Third kit is just for extra revenue. All about the money. I've no problem with us releasing a third kit - I only buy the home kit, apart from the odd occasion.
