  1. Why ? Can you not give the lad a chance before shooting him down.
  2. I wonder if we'll see a new face this week.
  3. Hilson is quick direct and looked the part pre season. Definitely has the ability but a slight concern over his injury record. Hopefully he comes back fit and well to give us another good option.
  4. Jack and James on a 3 year deal can either do a job up front
  5. I'm reliably informed that it won't be Brian Graham
  6. Stewart Gilmour has stated in the recent past that Ralston costs a fortune to run for a club of our size. He made a very good point when pointing out St johnstone as an example of a club similar in size to ourselves, pointing out that they don't have such a facility and therfore this revenue saved is spent on the first team playing budget. When you consider where both clubs are at present then it's maybe something we should be looking at. An all weather surface and a grass pitch at Greenhill road would save the club a fortune in running costs.
  7. Apparently Ryan's agent already has one or two of his clients already at Livingston and that's his likely destination, according to Livingston fans. He didn't do himself any favours with his performance yesterday but it can be difficult to judge a player on the strength of one game.
  8. The very best of luck to him if Livingston are willing to pay stupid money they don't have. Then again Livi have previous for spending large amounts of cash they don't have, cheating bastards. On today's showing there is no way that Airdrie will get 45k for Ryan.
  9. If given the choice of signing Loy and missing out on a few of the squad fillers we've already signed then I would have gone with Loy. Quality over quantity for me. Of course some of the players I'm referring to might well do a job given time, but Loy is a known quantity who would have been an invaluable signing imo.
  10. There's very little chance of us paying Airdrie 45k for a player reputedly earning £1300 a week in the third tier. More likely that as others have suggested that we get a loan signing. Brian Graham would do a job for any club operating in the championship.
  11. Livingston fan on pie&bovril claiming that Andy Ryan is on £1300 a week at Airdrie, and that he wants Livi to match his wage if they want to sign him.
  12. I can remember Duffy when he was at Falkirk and looked a decent striker a few years ago. He's 33 now and certainly fits the criteria for an experienced front man. No idea at what level he's been most recently plying his trade but worth having a look at maybe a short term deal similar to Hilson. A quick wiki check has him recently playing in India, and his stats show that his goal scoring record is very decent given the number of appearances.
  13. Terrible news that Connor lost his long battle with leukaemia. Far too young RIP buddie.
  14. What a surprise it would be to see the West Lothian plastic franchise pushing the boat out to spend money they haven't got.
  15. Seen that on twitter, not looking so good this early in the season to have so many injuries. It seems there are more trialists playing in the Ross county game, the lad Miller plus a few more, let's hope we don't get any more before sat.
  16. This lad Miller might well get a short term deal considering the mini injury crisis that's rapidly developing. Maybe a deal similar to Hilson while Magennis recovers.
  17. McCann could easily have taken off the number 17 who seemed to kick anything that moved all night in the so called friendly. Im surprised we don't have more injured players given the extent Dundee players were going at it most of the game.
  18. Renewed both my ticket and my boys on sat morning. When I added the Dundee game on for free I was informed that both my seats were already sold to someone else so it looks as if there could be a decent crowd.
  19. There is a street just around the corner from my house named after Davy Lapsley. Lapsley Avenue just off Neilston Road.
  20. Airdrie fans are saying that the threat of insolvency is very real. They are not selling season tickets because of this, and you would have to think selling their best asset for 75K is probably only papering over the cracks in financial terms. Im guessing most of Scottish football will be aware hence the price tag announcement in yesterday's press. It looks like Airdrie might have to accept less than 75k given their precarious position.
  21. If clubs like Plymouth are interested then 75k is nothing to the likes of them, I can't see him coming to us if bigger outfits are in for him.
  22. Away you go with your positive attitude.
  23. Airdrie fans on the pie & bovril site are saying a few Scottish Premiership teams have been watching along with Derek Adams also been seen at games watching him.
  24. The chances of any Scottish club paying a 75K fee for a league one player are slim to say the least. 25 to 30 with a sell on clause is somewhat more realistic.
