  1. I would rather take the chance with Oran than pick two utter failures like McCoist and McCulloch.
  2. No need to, Kennedy has already got the job, you told us.
  3. I had actually forgotten about the wage Gus was on at that time. Kind of blows the media story out of the water, in which they were all saying that Jack was earning 70k a year.
  4. Jack Ross was on a very healthy salary latterly. He was the highest paid manager in our history, figures in the media when he was destined for Sunderland, stated he was on 70k a year, that was way off the mark. With the improved deal he got it was close to or slightly more than 100K I’m told.
  5. It’s just a personal view mate, I don’t rate either of them for differing reasons, I would rather go with the Irish lad Kearney before I would give either of those two the job.
  6. I don’t want Stubbs or McIntyre anywhere near the job. Both would would be lazy appointments. It’s between Neilsen and Kearney for me.
  7. As far as the lad O’Ware is concerned, many Morton fans were saying that he lacks the necessary pace in order to operate in the top flight. Signing for another championship outfit speaks volumes.
  8. I’m not sure that I agree with folk who are of the opinion that, if you currently manage on a part time basis then it renders you incapable of taking on a full time managerial position. It didn’t adversely affect Jack Ross in his positions with part time outfits like Dumbarton and Alloa. To me it shows the man can work within budget constraints, yet still produce a good side competing with clubs with bigger and better resources.
  9. I agree, it’s likely that GLS will go down a similar route to the one used in JR’s appointment. Kearney comes with some good recommendations from within the game. He seems like a similar type of manager to Jack Ross and is a very interesting candidate.
  10. Seems plausible to me, GLS will appoint a complete rookie coach from Celtic as manager of St Mirren.
  11. Oh that’s ok then, give him f**k all of a budget and rely on his coaching and man managment skills to compete with similar sized clubs with a bigger budget in place and see how that one works out.
  12. That’s because Danny Lennon had a budget that allowed him to sign the likes of Thompson Teale Carey and the like. Do you honestly think they came to St Mirren for peanuts ? What do you expect Neilsen to say, I’ll be happy to accept a budget scrapping about with the likes of Hamilton.
  13. Neilson or Hopkin for me. Hopkin has done a similar job to Jack Ross with a fraction of his budget. He’s galvanised Livingston and taken them further than anyone could have realistically expected. He would in my opinion do a cracking job with a bigger club with better resources.
  14. Some of the posts on here regarding a new manager are frightening. Paul Lambert has been a serial loser with every club he’s been with in recent times. He’s had one successful period at Norwich when he got them promoted. After that he’s bombed at every other club. No thanks. The same goes for McIntyre and John Kennedy the Celtic coach, why in God’s name would you give a guy with no managerial experience the helm of a club who have just been promoted back into the top flight, that makes no sense at all.
  15. The Daily Ranger says David Hopkin is now favourite.
  16. Hopkin is rumoured to be one of the top five Morton shareholders, with that in mind and the fact that he began his playing career there, then he looks a shoe in for the Morton job.
  17. I understand the figure is £200k plus a few add ons, like a pre season friendly as an extra sweetener. Could be bollocks though.
  18. You can expect a manager who will galvanise your club from players to fans and managment. In my opinion he’s destined for the top level. He’s been brilliant for us in the last two seasons, it’s been a miraculous turnaround in our fortunes. He’s not affraid of a challenge and he’s proved that he can build a squad from scratch, and crucially he’s not scared to make big decisions on team selections. There’s no sentiment with players who aren’t performing. You’ve bagged the best young manager in Scotland.
  19. Confirmation that you are not just an attention seeking troll, but a paranoid one. Found out again.
  20. Ross knocked back Dundee and they went back cap in hand to McCann with an improved offer. But hey ho that doesn’t fit in with the agenda of a trolling fan who once had a fall out with its former chairman.
  21. Similar things were said about Dundee Utd last season, but I do agree that in terms of the size of budget Sunderland have at their disposal, then they should winning league one. You never know in football, but I expect Sunderland will go for a more experienced man.
  22. I’ve heard a similar story, but he would be a very brave man to take on the Sunderland job. That club is a total shambles from top to bottom and it will take years to sort out that mess. I imagine anyone taking that job will get 6 months at having them challenging at the top of league one. Anything less will result in the sack.
  23. Can’t believe this Ian, I remember Kenny playing football with us over on the park at Colonsay road when we were all kids. Great guy always had time for a chat and a massive saints fan. RIP Kenny.
