  1. First bit in bold is because C4 and SC4 outbid all the other interested parties. Second bit in bold, neither BBC Scotland or STV outbid Viaplay in the UEFA bidding process.....I don't think it is currently within SFA's power. I don't like the fact it's not available on "Free to Air" but that's just a personal thought.......
  2. UEFA sells the rights to the TV packages which comes through a series of bids and will pretty well always go to the highest bidder, the SFA are to blame for many things but not in this case imo. UEFA and FIFA both seem to be driven by greed and will pull their pants down for the highest dollar (see World Cup in Qatar for reference), that unfortunately permeates it's way through all the layers which ends up fleecing the fans. It doesn't effect me too much from a TV perspective because I attend all the home games and as many away games as I can afford. That said, on the occasions that I can't go away I'd love the games to be on "non-Satellite" or "non-PPV" channels. To watch almost any football on TV now you need at least "Sky" as an entry level, what is horrific is that they have plenty international games on but if your country's group is sold to "Viaplay" or "TNT" then you're ponying out even more money compared to other countries.
  3. I think they should be on free to air tv from a consumer perspective, the reality is that someone has to pay for it and it goes to the highest bidder.
  4. Have you bumped your head this morning?? Here's how England sold their rights.....hmmm, interestingly through UEFA ITV secures exclusive rights to broadcast England Men's matches from 2024-2028 | England Football , I think you'll find this is how it's done regardless of which country you are. You'll probably go down a rabbit hole in a bid to be correct but the reality is STV and BBC Scotland budgets don't allow them to compete with Satellite Broadcasters.
  5. The SFA has a duty to get the most money for their product, simple as that.....they don't even do the negotiations as I think the rights are held by UEFA Premier Sports to broadcast Scotland Men’s National Team matches until 2024 | Scottish FA | News
  6. Not quite correct, neither BBC Scotland nor STV will bid enough money for the rights....
  7. Had a look on their website as i couldn't remember what it said on our tickets which arrived last night......looks like we are tucked into a corner of the East Stand
  8. Criticism from a "Political Advisor" (and Rangers fan so possibly/probably Unionist), probably more of an opportunity to discredit SNP/Hollyrood than a deep-rooted feeling......I see Russell Findlay tweeting similarly (almost identically). I absolutely hate this kind of "positional politics". The flip question would be "how would any Palestinians feel about Scottish Government or But House flying the Israeli flag.....I'm with Doakes on this, we should only be supporting peaceful resolution and not taking sides.
  9. Nah, his biggest mistake was obviously not involving you in his management and scouting set up with all your top level credentials.....hope the meter ticks over regularly today for you old boy 👍
  10. Is this not something that should be an obvious quarterly spend from SMiSA. This is so obviously about engaging the local community….
  11. His reputation will only ever be “Grand Slam Champion, “ex-World Number One, “Davis Cup Winner”, “multiple ATP Winner” and a guy who had the guts, determination and ability to get back into the World Top 50 after massive surgery to have a replacement metal hip……..he’ll know when it’s right to retire, he’s earned that right, and won’t give the two smallest of wee f**k’s what negative naysayers slaver.
  12. I thought I’d posted about it but must have forgotten, that’ll have been the wine……six of us went to Zambretto. Food was excellent and a nice restaurant with great service was our experience. Live music in the background from 20:00 made for a very enjoyable evening, would recommend and definitely would go back. Thanks HSS for pointing us in it’s direction 👍
  13. All entitled to our opinions 59er but I thought, on Saturday at least, he commanded his box really well and committed to and came for every cross ball.
  14. Yes and the main stand is on our right, as we face the pitch, from the away end
  15. I parked at the OMNi Car Park earlier in the season.....a wee bite to eat and a stroll down to Easter Road (10-15mins).
  16. Brilliant, thanks Buddies Genova's is unfortunately fully booked but will have a look at all the other suggestions. Cheers
  17. Afternoon Buddies I haven’t eaten out in Paisley for quite some time but will be going out on the town after the game this Saturday. I’m looking for recommendations for somewhere decent to eat…..wife doesn’t really fancy Indian as we’re going to Mowgli in Glasgow on Sunday evening and Trattoria and Cardosi’s are fully booked. Any ideas, recommendations greatly appreciated. Cheers .
  18. I'm delighted for him and thought he played really well, and has done so far this season, but he only actually made one save of note (two at a push). What I thought was telling from the game on Saturday was how well we defended our box, almost every attempt from Motherwell was from outside the penalty area.
  19. He took a knock about 30 minutes in….prior to that he was probably the most solid player in the middle of the park.
  20. Disappointing and way beyond keech. I guess the trick is to finish while it’s still relevant and not too obvious…..a shame because it was really good while it was original.
  21. Stop being a eejit Buddie, you know fine that just one question mark is pretty threatening in itself but five, well that’s just purely venomous 😂😂
  22. Porteous, who I quite like, lost Rashford so many times last night and twice put us in trouble with silly passes.
