  1. Correct Yes you do, shame you can't stop them
  2. Aye it was pure original, accurate and didn't at all show his undertone hatred to recent club/ SMISA decisions
  3. If it was anyone (almost) else, I would have believed it was a joke. He's well versed on his hatred of SMISA.
  4. Translation - 'He knew I was trolling and didn't bite'
  5. Technically, you know that the scientific consensus is probably accurate since it is backed up by all the evidence. It could still be wrong, though. Yeah agreed, like anything really, it could be wrong. Technically we could be wrong about the existence of the Easter Bunny, Santa and Rangers being the same team as well but it isn't likely
  6. Did you forget that lesson briefly recently?
  7. Plus, you know, the scientists are categorically correct.
  8. Nope £1,600 was my first bid and as far as I know it was blind. I never got the option to up my bid anyway. My plan was to donate it to the club, I had no idea they had bid. I am happy though the seller made decent money from the items. Nice wee bit of trolling there. Is that what gets you through your sheer rage that the two stand deal is continuing and SMISA have made decisions based on a voting majority? Must hurt ouch
  9. Medal went for £1,700 Anyone know who got it? I'm gutted I bid £1,600 1959 top went for £6,000 and as Scotland shirt went for £1,900
  10. The only remaining question for me is if people believe or disbelieve a man that has got access to all the financial information regarding our clubs income and outgoings. For me I have no reason not to believe our chairman. He is not financially gaining from the decision, is not financially gaining from the purchase of the club and has the power to reverse the decision for next season (at likely considerable/ universal fan acceptance) so IMO has no reason to lie. I also feel if he was, he'd be very likely to get caught out, another reason to believe him. Your second part is all fair enough, he might clarify in the pre-season. I'd imagine we are pretty far away from it though given this seasons figures.
  11. The chairman has put his name to a statement that specifically says it enabled us to increase our players budget by 10% people can think he is openly lying but I don’t. It’s amazing some people think that’s a negative thing on here. Your opinion can be that having one extra near empty stand for three games is more beneficial than a significantly bigger budget for 38, I personally don’t.
  12. If you want to know more contact the club. I for one don’t think our chairman is a liar and the 10% relates to the player budget being 10% greater than what it would have been without the arrangement. You know... what he wrote?
  13. A SMFC fan trusting the people in charge of the club and providing figures that back-up what they say? Burn the witch!
  14. Translation - 'I think GLS is lying with zero facts or evidence to back it up.' Mind Oak was having a go at me for not letting this thread die?
  15. Further? Remember how less fans go to mid-week games than to crucial fixtures? I have shown you plenty of examples that highlight the drop in fans was not all to do with the decision. You pushing this false point won't change the facts.
  16. the 10% relates to increase in the player budget, that's what he has said and that's enough for me. If you think he is lying then fine, I have no reason to think so because as I have said all along, I think the income would be significant. As you will also be aware I had no problem comparing one stand vs two (I think that's likely what he's done), you were the one that didn't like it for unknown reasons.
  17. Don't see how we are getting spun at all, it's a perfectly reasonable and detailed update. One stand vs two is perfectly fine as I have said all along. All other teams get one stand, they get two, here's the comparison, there is no issue at all. He even says why he wanted to keep West for SMFC fans which backs up my point, it was never going to be an option. You don't like it, that is fine but it isn't a breach of trust, just sounds like you're a bit bitter tbh.
  18. Just as well you say you respect the opinions of others and their right to disagree with you then, isn't it. Yeah and that will always be the case, my questions related to 'why do people believe the money isn't considerable' or 'why do people think home crowd numbers are way down at these games' not that they are automatically wrong and not allowed to think that way. People are still welcome to think both of those points are true, that's the great thing about opinion. This update just adds more weight to my opinion that the money is significant and home crowds don't go way down.
  19. This won't be exact because one figure is obviously at a point of time and this is our current squad but the average first team players wage released early in the season was £46,169 and we currently have a 24 player squad right now. Total budget £1,108,056 10% £110,805. I imagine much like me he's comparing the extra income from one stand to two stands, as he makes it very clear he wanted to continue West for saints fans this season meaning the last arrangement was irrelevant.
  20. I've made my comment on the other post about the 10% and the near sellout crowd, it puts the issue to bed for me on my points to why I back it. No doubt there will still be people like LPM & BEK that won't accept it has a financial benefit and doesn't scare large numbers of fans away.
  21. Yep, I was too busy formulating my words, I have half a dozen people that review my responses like they were the Brexit divorce bill
  22. Chairman latest update gives details on family stand. In short, the arrangement will continue unless SMFC fan base grows beyond the requirements of two stands. Bar people thinking he's lying, I guess it puts an end to the income and home fan numbers debate. 10% increase to player budget and the Celtic game early in the season put us as close to a sellout as we've been in 10 years, something we'd not see if fans were turning away in large numbers. Could have saved a lot of pain if this came out a month ago The South Stand Having allocated the whole of the West stand to our own fans with such success in our Championship winning season we felt that we had to try to find a way to continue that arrangement in the Premiership. We had to try and achieve that whilst still balancing the financial considerations of playing in a top flight where we are competing against other clubs who give over large areas of their stadium to big visiting supports. As you know we took the decision to retain the use of W6 and W7 in the West Stand for home fans only for all games with Rangers and Celtic fans being allocated the South Stand in addition to the usual away end in the North Stand during their visits. Whilst I appreciate this move caused disruption to our season ticket holders and supporters in the South Stand we have worked hard to ensure those fans requirements were met for the games in question through reduced ticket pricing and priority purchasing of re-allocated seats. In short, the decision we took enabled us to increase our playing budget by 10% whilst also ensuring we retained the majority of seats for home fans and kept the West Stand exclusively for the use of St.Mirren supporters. The competitive atmosphere in the first game against Celtic was fantastic and the gate that evening was as close to a sell out as we have been since we moved to the stadium back in 2009. As a board we are unanimous that our ideal preference would be to retain the use of the South Stand for all our home matches exclusively for our own supporters, however, we also absolutely need to give ourselves the best chance of competing in this division. Put bluntly, that additional playing budget could be the difference between survival and relegation. Until such time as home ticket sales or better still season ticket sales dictate otherwise, we plan to continue with the arrangement we have had this season. Our hope is that our own support continues to grow and we eventually get to a point where demand will dictate that we are able to return the South Stand to our own supporters for every single game.
  23. Between one and two mate, average wage of a St Mirren player this season is £46,169
