It's either that or I have fallen asleep, dreaming about going to the dentist and getting fillings Help appreciated! Quote

Kenikeli Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 might not be hard drive, may be the fan on the processor. If it cuts out occasionally this is due to overheating and the BIOS turning off pc to save the processor from burning out. U may be able to check cpu fan speed in the bios when u switch on, hold down either, F2, F10, or delete key to enter CMOS Setup or bios, they all the same. Should be running at around 4,000 rpm, though it may be less for laptops. Check it out anyway, cheaper than a new Hard drive! Quote
Hollz Posted March 13, 2007 Author Report Posted March 13, 2007 Thanks, think my laptop has been on standby and not off for a few days, so it has perhaps over-heated? If it does need fixed, thankfully I have insurance Quote
