kevo_smfc
Our biggest problem imo is that for every season in the last ten bar 1 or 2, we havent managed to confirm our league status till the last week or two, whether it has been survival or relegation. For this, we have missed out handing out extensions and pre-contracts earlier, therefore playing catchup with the rest of the league in preparing our squad. The change of manager last summer also left us with a clueless gaffer who never really had a clue about building a squad. Even Dannys first season left him a bit exposed to knowing the type of quality to sign. This season has been pretty much the same, added with the appointment of murray and relegation confirming transfers and quality of player to attract change. If Murray was brought in on January, things may have been better for preperation, regardless of what league we would be playing in this season. I like the fact though that he is not just signing players for the sake of it. I am still confident this squad will be good enough for the challenge. Wasn't Murray confirmed as the new manager and sitting in the stand watching Gary Teale's final match in charge last season?
Kemp
Its a good question and its a simple answer. There is no accountability on a day to day of the managers performance. Hartley (Dundee) and Aitken (Dumbarton) had their squads tied up months before the season started. We are run like a f**king youth club, and are scrambling about to sign players after the season has started. Football clubs have a culture in them. Inverness and St Johnstone. Dunfermline and Airdrie. Which way are we going?
Dibbles old paperboy
Our best season in the last few years was DL's 2nd season where Goodwin, Teale, Thomson, Teale, Hasselbaink, McGowan, Carey etc were all signed or re-signed during pre-season. That still really only makes 1-2 weeks difference in the time it took to appoint TC after Lennons departure.
