  1. There is a very decent player in there. We have seen it before his move to Derby and in his season on loan. If he can re-find that form, we have a very good asset on our hands. Form is temporary, talent is permanent as they say.
  2. I dislocated shoulder can take a few months to recover from. Just as we hit a good bit of form again, we lose a few key players. Hopefully big Quaner is not too far away from a return to give us another option further up the field.
  3. I personally think the club may wait till we get to a certain number of points on the table, that are based on previous seasons as safe enough to finish above bottom two. I don't think we are too far away from that and could possibly had said amount of points by end of Feb if we take advantage of the amount of home fixtures we have.
  4. Caused every team problems we have came up against. Very few players can match his pace and his determination to keep the ball. He has been a huge asset and adds something we have not had for quite sometime. The assist last night was a great example of what he is capable of on his day.
  5. I think we did have some sort of sell on from what I remember. May not be huge, though they are selling him for around 10x what they paid us for him. Could easily help pay towards a players wage till end of season
  6. I will eat my words. What a sensational performance last night. Did not look out of place after being out so long. I'd keep him in the starting lineup for Saturday.
  7. It's clear Flynn and Foley are not in the managers long-term plans. It's as if he wants to try and build a team that will lead into next season and both Flynn and Foley are not part of that plan. I believe that if it were not for Flynns injury, he would have been in the starting lineup from the off, though as the manager tries to now build a team with pace and Flynn, who was covering a now occupied right back role, it would be difficult to bring him back in and expect it to click. I do however think he is a useful player to have in our squad for the remainder of the season. If Foley goes this window, you would think Sheron should also be called back to Fleetwood too surely, unless we don't have a terminate of loan clause in place. He's almost the forgotten man.
  8. Worst affected in what terms? Financially because they are paying players £££ daft money, spunked £2-3m on a champions league pyro display a couple of seasons ago, spending reportedly 250k on a trip to Dubai, the list goes on. They thought they were going to walk the league this season now they are crying wolf.
  9. Turned down a contract extension and fell down the pecking order as a result. They can't be seeing him every week if he is 3rd or 4th choice? He was doing a decent job of scoring goals for them prior to this season.
  10. I think we have a squad that is finally starting to click with the changes and additions we have made. Doyle-Hayes and Erhahon are keeping other really good players out of the team with their solid defensive and playmaking in the middle of the park. Connolly has given us that pace we lacked and has been a complete menace to opposition Durmus' return on the other side A recognised left-back in Mason Taits freedom to bomb forward *McGrath's freedom to play behind the striker and cause a goal threat Every single player is keeping their place on merit and the dropping of other players has been completely justified with a few just been unlucky to good form. We have an even better chance of reaching the final now than we did back in 2013. I am so proud of the team and have to credit Jim for turning this around on a magnificent run, where he could have potentially been on a shaky peg previously. Players now starting to gel has given me hope that we can finish the season strong with the addition of another striker.
  11. I'm sure that rumour was quashed over on Twitter by someone involved at the club in some capacity.
  12. That was my thoughts too. I'd imagine from the timing of the Kibble involvement tail end of last year, this is their first involvement with the annual accounts, so it may have been flagged during that process. The club must not trust anyone if they have had to make it public themselves so they can avoid speculation.
  13. Marcus Fraser has played centre half many of times. With Tait and Mason available now for both left back and right back, Fraser can cover in central area.
  14. The first half was a walk in the park though Hopkin played a blinder second half. We were in such a comfortable mindset with them sitting back first half, we didn't know how to handle them sitting so high in the second half. There is no point of having so many attackers on at once if we can't even put away one shot on target.
  15. I'd say its far too early to call, though on current form, we really need to start picking up points fast. That game in-hand against them could reveal a lot.
  16. If you had listened to JG's comments during the week, he had said some players had only been able to minor training in the house over last couple of weeks which is obviously not ideal. That's where that came from.
  17. Fitness levels and prep are my only concern about this game, though with the availability of many players now including a natural left-back, we might be able to compete. The 5 subs rule will help if fatigue kicks in. United have played 3 games more and only scored 4 more goals than us, (2 against us).
  18. I really don't see the issue with Tony releasing the statement. If people want to use a platform and their profile to spout nonsense about other clubs, then expect said clubs to stick up for themselves. Will be interesting to see MR's views when the shoes on the other foot and Motherwell have positive cases within their squad. To honestly think the club would go out their way to make stuff up to cancel a game, when there are consequences involved including the team being weakened for this weekends game against a club closer to us in the table. Reading on Twitter, its very possible that players picked up the virus whilst playing against Killie earlier in the month, then again it could have been from a household member.
  19. With all due respect, we needed cover in defence and we have now got one. Saves us probably from relying on one of our midfielders dropping into defence when we are short. Still, folk raging as per usual. For anyone bringing up Jack Baird into conversation, he is 25 years old and he was beyond that 'potential' stage. We now have a 19 year old who Jim obviously trusts to come in when ready. We have had plenty of success from players coming in to defence at this age, with Scott Cuthbert, Kirk Broadfoot (17) and Dummett to name a few.
  20. This is how I look at it. Kyle is out of contract next summer and can sign a pre-contract with a club from January. We receive a development fee of around 200-300k. Club were holding out hope they could get him to sign a new deal, though as soon as Hibs submitted their first and second bids, Kyle as reports say, he was keen to speak to Hibs. As soon as a player does that he has made it clear that he sees his future elsewhere. I can't see the club selling for any less than dev fee unless there was a hefty sell-on fee included. I also believe that the club will already have targets that may have been prepped for January we may approach now. Players have to take a chance when it comes, it's a short career and anything can happen. Moving to a top 4 club under a man he can trust and work well with. I really do wish him well and like Jack Ross and Paul McGinn, I hold no grudges.
  21. If true think that will be the end of my St.Mirren watching time. Disgraceful. From what is reported Gary, when Kyle knew interest from Hibs was there after a couple of bids were rejected, he was keen to speak to JR about a move. When a player makes noises about a move and is stalling on a contract thats been offered by our club, there is not much more you can do. It's a decent move for him and with being out for say what 9 months and already been out for a length period before that in his career, that move may not come around again any time soon. Look at McAllister, we actually sold him with a re-occurring injury. Derby tidied that up, he never reached the heights and he's back with us not any fitter, or the player he looked like being.
  22. My stream went blurry with about 15/20 mins left in the game and I couldn't get it fixed with even logging out and back in. I eventually gave up as I'd lost interest in the game anyways. I'm not sure if part of it is due to not being able to attend games, though I just feel fed up this season already with what I've been watching. If it wasn't for the sentimental connection with Goody, I think more fans would be making noise over the performances. It can't take the first quarter of the season to work out a formula surely. I give credit for the effort against Celtic, though its been followed up with unacceptable performances. It's all good and well trying to make yourself difficult to beat (it's not worked so far dropping points), though we need to do something in the final third. Too many passengers getting a show in every week.
  23. The pull that Beckham has at Inter Miami, it wouldn't surprise me if Ronaldo follows suit for next season.
  24. Bazil, you are fighting a losing battle. Haters will be haters. Some 'fans' are never happy regardless. I am happy with progress. Plenty of room for improvement, though I am happy with recruitment and how we are shaping up.
  25. Can't argue much with that. Tommy Craig - did absolutely nothing to improve performances, took no responsibility, plus he was a back stabber. Chronic to watch. All saying that, apparently a good coach. Stubbs- broke up a great squad, caused unrest and injected a poison into the dressing room followed by a dozen disaster signings. Never once took blame for performances or signings and never attempted to have a relationship with the fans. Davie Hay - I was quite young at this point, though my first memory of relegation John Coughlin - really nice guy, though not manager material like Craig .Football was dreadful, though left on good terms and made way for Gus to work his magic. Alex Rae - the Rangers media darling was never going to be a fans favourite. Did his job first season, though signs were showing it was never going to be a long term relationship and form dipped.
