faraway saint
Watched Murray lose out to Dimitrov yesterday. Played, overall, very well. Won the first 6-4, lost a close second 7-5 then lost his way a bit in the third, losing 6-2. A tough first round opponent but that's what happens when you slip down the rankings. Currently watching the return of Nadal. Like Murray, a tough opponent in Thiem. Nadal just taken the first set 7-5.

For a wee bit of context, Dimitrov is in the final of this tournament which had a decent group of players. No shame in Murray losing out in three sets. No shame in Murray losing out in three sets. Dimitrov WINS the Brisbane Open. Aye, maybe Murray has a chance in 3 set tournaments although his chances in the slams are next to nil. faraway saint
The Australian Open starts next week. Unfortunately with the time difference, I'll not see many games but my tip for the top, Jack Draper, goes into the tournament free from injury and has reached the final of the Adelaide Open. Roll on next year when I can stay up late as much as I like.

faraway saint
Some game on Eurosport right now. Djokovic, after winning the first set comfortably, now 1 set all and a break down in the 3rd.
faraway saint
Norrie 1 set up and just starting the tie break in the 2nd. Wins this, against the No6 seed Rudd, and he's in with a real shout.
faraway saint
Norrie loses the tie break and it's now 1-1 in sets. . Oh, correction (for some reason the time to edit a post in here is ludicrously short) it's RUUD and he's the 11th seed.

Norrie wins 3-1, great victory against a rated player. 👍
faraway saint
Djokovic JUST survives to take his match with Sinner into a 4th set, winning a tie break. Thats, as far as I'm aware, the first set Sinner has lost. Pity I have to head off to work, what a match.
faraway saint
Australian Open final living up to the hype, what a match so far. Everyone's favourite, Sinner, loses the first two sets to Medvedev who was just unbeatable. Sinner sticks in, JUST wins the 3rd set 7-5. 4th set about to start, brilliant sport. faraway saint
Since losing narrowly to the eventually winner Dimitrov in Australia poor Murray has lost 5 on the trot, all to players that, frankly, you've hardly ever heard of. Hos response to a journalist last week, who suggested his dreadful form was harming his legacy was gutsy but words are cheap. He needs some wins soon or his last year will be littered with poor results.
faraway saint
While Murray seems to be in a real bad run of form his record against the Top Three is, by far, better than any other player of his era. He's sitting on 30 victories with the next best, Del Potro and Tsonga way behind on 17. Aye, some tennis player and a decent person into the bargain. 👍
