  1. Out of interest, has anyone changed their viewpoint as a result of this thread? Just curious.
  2. The biggest bailout in the British banking crisis was given to Barclays (an English bank) Significant amounts were given to RBS and HBOS from Westminster (66 billion) but with Scotland's GDP at 165 billion it is without doubt we could have afforded this without any more strain than that which was felt uk wide. The uk relied on much of their bailout money from international governments (most significantly the USA) and these countries helped bailout the uk banks because they have business associated with them, whether scotland is part of the uk or not, countries and companies with significant business interest in a particular bank will help bail them out, as shown by the bailout of several Belgian banks by the French and German governments People refer to crashes in Iceland and Ireland, but it is it not worth noting that because of their small size and their self-determination of their own countries policies, they have recovered much quicker than the uk both and are both significantly better off.
  3. If you watch this 36 minute video and still wish to vote no, then fair enough. Here is the economic case for independence. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1W8cKHcZn60
  4. '8 goals in 2 games to pishy first division sides. We're doomed. Get Danny to f**k.....' Some knicker wetters need to realise that pre-season means nada
  5. Gomah seems to think he is on trial - http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11797/8816057/transfer-news-st-mirren-have-taken-caleb-gomah-on-trial
  6. In saying that, I don't think he has done too badly the past month and a half or so. A cracking finish v inverness most notably.
  7. Would it not be great if people who actually heard things from relatively reliable sources posted what they heard and those that just talk pish saved their made up rumours for some other forum. Get too excited reading rumours about good players who it turns out Danny has never even considered!
  8. Danny is still putting his mark on the team with some of those guys on 2 year deals with Gus now being released. With no disrespect to some of the players let go, alot of them are not/no longer of the same quality as others in the squad. Wee thomo has become prone to losing the ball alot and also is aging. Robertson seems like a relatively young, promising midfielder so ON PAPER, the prospects are bright. Also, if I'm not mistaken, was that 'highest finish in 2 decades by Gus' not still lower than that where Danny's team have finished? Gus was a great manager for us but like some players, I feel his time had come and gone.
  9. Also, would like to add that the matches now will decide the difference between finishing 9th and finishing 7th, a difference of 160,000 pounds to next years budget (which works out at roughly 3100 per week) Where we finish this season could make a big difference to the quality of our squad next season, every game is meaningful!
  10. Unless of course his points total is higher where their is room for an argument
  11. In fairness to McShane, the game swung in our favour when he came on against United as we could hold the ball better upfront. Also tracked back exceptionally well and put in a cracking slide challenge right infront of the away faithful. I think whether it's his time or no he deserves a wee chance to prove himself which won't happen if we bring in another striker to put ahead of him in the pecking order.
