shot 83 on my home course today and lost 7&5 to the wife so cant be as arrogant towards women's golf as some.

funny how different coverage makes for different opinions - watched the game on US (english commentator and english "expert") tv accompanied by 8 English fans and not one person thought to mention a possible sending off. Not saying it wasn't just saying it wasnt an issue over here.

although what i also should have said is that they would need to soften the greens and shorten the course a lot more to make it playable for the vast majority of male golfers.

i really would like to agree but have almost as little time for Uruguay as i do for the other lot. 0-0 this afternoon with Costa Rica winning tomorrow would do me nicely as Italy will take care of Uruguay in the last game.

Going to the women's US open tomorrow - same course as the men's last week. Looking forward to see how they play it compared to the men.

Went yesterday - to complete a watching version of a grand slam . Very different course from the usual courses you get inland in North Carolina - very linksy but with more trees. Followed Kaymer on his 2nd 9 he played well and got up and down from bunkers twice when he missed the green. After that followed Poulter, Jimenez and Jaidee, enjoyed that as could see the course properly with not too many people following them.
