  1. The owners of these businesses are generally the pension funds of ordinary workers...
  2. I love it how you spout stuff like that sentence as though its factual.
  3. Stirring and exploiting the underclass of Scottish society. That is how 2 clubs in Scotland have won success and their employees have £ millions in the bank. And the apologists let it happen... Shame on them.
  4. Indeed. And its people like this that the Old Firm business model exploits and feeds from. And until the apologists of sectarianism like yourself can see the cause then we face another century of it.
  5. All of what you say is typical whataboutery. The only question is why we tolerate the Old Firm and their sectarianism in Scottish society. And the answer is that apologists like you defend it.
  6. There is no doubt that those carrying out the abuse are out of order. But again, its missing the point. The point is that Celtic's business model is to stir up hatred like this. Its what draws crowds to Parkhead, its what gives them money, its what gives them success. Neil Lennon has £ millions in the bank on the back of it. Indeed, its helped keep in his job. Look at the tale of 2 previous Celtic managers, neither of whom had any connections with Celtic whatsoever before they joined the club. Martin O'Neill was adored by the Celtic support and is still adored today. Gordon Strachan was hated by the Celtic support and is still hated today. They did everything they could to get him out the door from day 1. Yet Strachan was the more successful manager in terms of trophies won and progress in the Champions League. He also did it with less money. What is it that made O'Neill so popular and Strachan so hated? And, as Drew points out, why is it that O'Neill did not attract the abuse that Lennon does? We need to stop focusing on the symptoms and start focusing on the cause. And the cause is the Old Firm and the sectarianism they deliberately stir up to gain success on the pitch as the expense of clubs like St. Mirren. There will be no progress on stamping out sectarianism in Scotland until people stop seeing the guilty parties as the victims...
  7. By the same token, football is player's livelihood. Does that mean that we can't discuss which players should or shouldn't be playing, offered contracts, etc? The supporter's pay Lennon's wages. Part and parcel of being a football manager is dealing with fans who do and don't like him and do or don't want him to stay. This subject is NOT off limits. And for the record, I think his contract should be terminated with immediate effect.
  8. Over 100 years of sectarian exploitation from that club isn't brining it on themselves?
  9. Indeed. The fact is that the success of Celtic FC (and Rangers RIP) is built on a sectarian rivalry and exploiting sectarianism. Just look at the way that Celtic's gates have plummeted since Rangers died. If there was no Sevco then I have no doubt that Celtic's gates would fall to such a level that they would be on a par with Hearts, Hibs, Aberdeen, etc. Neil Lennon has made his money from Celtic FC and he's been a central figure in Celtic's campaign to stir up sectarianism and exploit it. Feeling sympathy for Neil Lennon would be a bit like feeling sympathy for Nick Griffen getting similar abuse. Just think back to the referees strike - it all stemmed from Celtic & Neil Lennon stirring up sectarian hatred. They were at it every week. Remember John Reid's "read your history books" comment? Or Hooper's laughable comment about the referees having it in for Celtic? Neil Lennon's comments after virtually ever game? His tweets? They were insinuating that there was a sectarian agenda against Celtic coming from all the other clubs in Scotland. They do this to generate crowds and success. They've been doing it for over 100 years and its caused no end of hatred and violence in Scotland. Why do we not hear any of that anymore? Because there is no Rangers anymore. The focus needs to be on stamping out sectarianism from Scottish football and Scottish society. The focus should be on closing down Celtic & Rangers. Neil Lennon isn't a victim. Quite the opposite.
  10. Considering I haven't posted on site for months that's not really surprising You really are a bit thick!
  11. It takes one click to find out the info. A lot less time and effort that you took for your reply!
  12. Indeed. But 3 players in 10 years from the youth system is very very poor
  13. But a lot more than if he hadn't signed them in the first place.
  14. Ironic when you consider that you and oaksoft have made almost a third of the posts on this thread.
  15. The fact that he wasn't offered a new contract surely indicates that he was "pushed out"?
  16. To balance things up, if Danny Lennon was that bad then Paul McGowan wouldn't have signed again would he? Conor Newton wouldn't have come back would he? And he wouldn't have recommended the club to Adam Campbell surely? And Steven Thompson appears to love it here and has had the best spell of his career, being more prolific than he's ever been despite getting on in age.
  17. Deary me! Lennon is the one who signed all these duds on "£10 a week", a whole host of them. I'd have preferred it if he hadn't signed them in the first place and had signed some players who were actually decent. Its that simple!
  18. Do you have the figures to back up your statement that Lennon has been forced to work with a reduced budget? And even if he is, why did he waste so much of it signing players he has later ended up getting shot of? I'll tell you why. He's clueless. That's why!
  19. Aye, and it appears that someone is away with your common sense! Why sign Mair, Grainger, Harkins, Imrie, etc, etc on £10 a week each in the first place? Why not sign some players who would play?
  20. Either way, we are all in agreement that Lennon's hopeless transfer record has cost a fortune!
