  1. Yah! Glad to see you now admit that simple direct tactics are the way to go. An amazing turnaround after your years of supporting Lennon's complicated short passes movements! Twat.
  2. Haile Gebrselassie, the greatest ever long distance runner, pulled out of the London Marathon at the 18 mile mark in 2007 with a stitch. Seriously doubt it was down to lack of fitness...
  3. Running too fast after eating is what did it for me. When I used to run (going back 5 years now since I chucked it), I went through a spell of getting a stitch on my long training runs every weekend. It would usually appear between 12-15 miles and would be agony and I'd have to cut the run short. That totally ruined my training for a marathon race in 2008. I still managed to finish the race in 3 hrs 12 mins but the original target had been sub 3 hrs and I lost over 10 mins in the final 2 miles due to lack of fitness. I remember also getting a stitch in the closing stages of a 10k race which was awful. Managed to keep going to the end though. The solution for me was simply not to eat for 4/5 hours before long runs or races. It took me a few months trying to eliminate what the problem was before I got to my solution. For me, I think it was possibly the combination of food in my stomach and running at a fairly fast pace. I'd do my long runs at sub 7 min / mile pace and my 10k time when I had to chuck running was 35 mins. The pain would go away as soon as I stopped running. While running though it was agony.
  4. Deary me! If tactics and positions mean nothing then why bother with a manager! The fact is that the results have improved since Danny changed to the tactics and positions that I was calling for. That is a fact. You wanted to keep things the way they were and happy clap us all the way to the First Division. The turnaround is ALL down to the likes of me. Bow down and praise me.
  5. If McGowan is out then maybe faraway saint will in touch with Danny to beg him to sign Derek Riordan!
  6. 5 central midfielders and 1 lone striker at home to a struggling First Division side. That's the sort of negative and defensive line up that even our previous ultra defensive and negative manager would never have contemplated! It got the job done however with an emphatic win and that is what really matters. Its good however that the line up and the result yet again exposes and makes a mockery of the many hypocrites on this forum. You all you know who you are. Laughing at you! PS, I know many will reply in furious anger (and they will be the hypocrites.. )... but I won't return to this thread so your hypocritical stupidity will fall on deaf ears!
  7. If Campbell plays wide right then where does Newton play? If Newton moves into the centre then where do Goodwin or McLean play? Goodwin back to central defence or McLean wide left, neither which suits them? Or does one get dropped? If McLean wide left then where does McGinn play? If Campbell plays central then where does McGowan play (then start back over all questions above). Its good to have options though. Good to have competition. Good to have cover for injuries and suspensions. But, assuming we have full strength... where do they fit in?
  8. Agree with windae cleaner and his Frank McAvennie hat trick in the 4-0 demolition of reigning League Champions Dundee United (and on their way to the European Cup Semi Final). In a game just before that I remember Ian Scanlon having a cracker in the 4-2 against Celtic, capping it with his 30 odd yarder to clinch it. Frank McGarvey had many stormers. One of his best saw him score a first half hat trick against Dundee at Love Street in his second spell at Love Street. Some left field memories. Thomas Stickroth's first appearance as a sub against Rangers at Love Street. I couldn't believe how good he was. After we signed him I couldn't believe how shite he turned out to be! He did have a stormer in the 3-0 win at Parkhead however. Jen's Paeslack's second half substitute debut away to Airdrie was also a cracker. He too turned out to be shite. I can also remember Junior Mendes scoring an amazing hat trick away to Airdrie as well.
  9. The turnaround is all down to ditching the fannying about at the back, being direct, pushing Goodwin into midfield, McGowan up fromt and ditching all Danny's shite summer signings. The happy clappers were clapping us all the way to the First Division. Folk like myself saved the day! I was right, all along, all along!
  10. 4 one-touch forward passes for the second goal. Excellent work! Don't tell faraway saint though. He'll be furious that we didn't fanny about with sideways and backwards passes!
  11. Support for Steven Thompson? What, like signing Derek Riordan to replace Paul McGowan?
  12. A draw in the battle between the league's 2 most clueless managers was predictable. Its no coincidence that the clueless manager's biggest fan on this forum is also the forum's most clueless poster!
  13. Stuart is correct. What we should really have done is invested in a running track instead...
  14. Inverness are now in the same boat as St. Mirren. Very talented group of players with a terrible manager!
  15. No surprise that faraway is more concerned about the manager than the team. Then again, Lex is the real supporter.
  16. The fact that "The Original 59er" feels such venom and hatred for Mehmet after all this time suggests that its him who should move on!
  17. The equaliser at Fir Park was my favourite Mehmet goal. Indeed, one of my favourite moments supporting Saints. Sutton's winner beats it though!
  18. But the most believeable reason is that the manager wants rid of Harkins cos he now realises he's shit.
  19. "Technical ability"? The world record holder for keepy ups presumably has a lot of "technical ability". But he's not a professional footballer. Harkins may well have loads of technical ability. But he's shit. Jim Goodwin was immense.Quality.
  20. Harkins didn't replace Gowser simply cos he's shit. We've improved out of sight since Danny dropped all his summer signings. Not point going backwards now. We're still in the cup, we'll get extra income from the replay. Best player was Jim Goodwin. Immense.
  21. Now that Danny has altered his tactics, team selection and formation as per my recommendation, I can see us really thrashing QoS. Its great to be proved right all along. All along.
  22. A partner for Steven Thompson in a formation with 1 striker? Does that mean that Paul McGowan is going to be ditched? Maybe McGowan back into deep midfield where he's wasted with either McLean or McGinn dropped? Then again, faraway saint wants McGowan or McGinn dropped to get Riordan into the side...
  23. There are some who can't bring themselves to admit that myself & Lex were right all along and that they and Danny were wrong all along!
  24. Yes, things have turned around. And that's because Danny is now using the long ball, moved Goodwin out of defence, put McGowan up front and ditched all his summer signings. The fact that its turned around after he finally started doing what Lex & myself advocated for months shows how clueless he really is! He's also had a good bit of luck with all the great youngsters - brought to the club during the reign of Gus Macpherson - coming through.
