  1. Can't believe you're still trying to crawl out of this with any credibility, you've backtracked so much you don't even make sense. But let me try and understand the point you're making here, Using your confused logic, If we get knocked out both cups at the earliest opportunity against spl teams then finish 10th in the league then you regard that as a better season than winning the cup? I don't think you even know what your on about
  2. Glad you can admit when you're wrong. First of all Danny hasn't lived up to your standards in all seasons and now you're admitting the last two have indeed been successful in your eyes. Thanks
  3. Enough of this, you sound like an old firm fan
  4. Thank you for highlighting the word and in red, however I did read your full post and took note of the word and I was referring to the next line obviously you can excuse falling short in the cups if you do better in the league and vice versa So by your standard finishing 8th was a successful season and winning the cup was a successful season.
  5. That's right if I don't agree with you I must not be real! Good response, it exposes you as a goon which isn't great for your argument. the mods can confirm this is my one and only account.
  6. ^^ The last two seasons were very successful by your standards then?
  7. Since Danny assembled his team we haven't been involved in any relegation battles, we've been comfortable. Finishing in our highest league finish then last season winning the cup and avoiding relegation easily. I agree 8 wins since the cup final doesn't read well but when you look at our history St mirren in the top flight tend to average around 10 wins a season so we are still on course for an above average finish. Considering we still have all the bottom 6 fixtures to play. I don't agree with the need of a centre back, I think macausland and mcgregor are of good spl standard and with back up in Naismith and Goodwin I feel back up centre back would be a waste of money. I'm sure I'm wasting my time regardless, I remember this forum was wanting DL sacked the season we finished 8th as people were upset there was no relegation battle and nothing to play for
  8. I'm actually embarrassed reading this.
  9. I have been for many years, this is actually some of the better shite I've seen.
  10. 7 pages of pure pish. Be careful what you wish for, we are not a big team. We budget every year to avoid the drop, DL has done that every season, and won a cup. Those of you saying we should be in the top 6 , at the expense of who? Which top 6 team do we have a better squad than?
  11. I'd say your opinion is so vague it's hard not to agree
  12. It's funny how differently two supporters watching the same games can see things, IMO Darren mcgregor is one of the best centre backs in scotland
  13. I don't mean to single you out dave but you were the first one I came across, the same 10-15 people were going mental about letting go of people like Danny grainger. I hope now you all realise our manager knows much much more about how to run a football club than any of you. Players in - Adam Campbell - future newcastle and England star Connor Newton - cup winning hero Kello - arguably the best spl goalkeeper when with hearts Greg Wylde - regular for the team formally known as rangers Magennis - decent enough spfl player Djemba djemba - ex man utd, champions league and World Cup experience, African cup of nations winner Is this the most successful January transfer window ever? I certainly can't think of any better.
  14. These comments about him being a man utd dud are laughable.. Diego forlan was a man utd dud too. Wouldn't mind him playing for st mirren either
  15. I think your football knowledge is slightly lacking here friend, the 4-2-3-1 formation is very popular with some of Europes elite. With the 2 quality holding midfielders it gives all 4 attacking players a lot of freedom but also gives huge protection to the back 4. This is a sensational signing just be happy
  16. So 10th or 11th isn't good enough but first division football is? Solid logic.
  17. Since none of us actually know what attitude danny actually looks for in players this thread is fairly pointless. A lot of assumptions passed as facts
  18. Goodwin was a centre back at celtic, played in defense for Hamilton too. Pretty sure he's stated publicly that his natural position is a centre back But I agree he is more suited to the holding role. Within out budget we won't find better than what we have meaning we'd be wasting a portion of a clearly small budget on a back up centre half, I don't think it's necessary
  19. So you weren't happy with the signing of Danny Grainger? I think we all thought it was a good bit of business. Sometimes things don't work out, that's football. Youth players won't come through every year due to the gap between u19's and u21's. I've seen a lot of people saying we need a centre half, I don't think we do. Darren mcgregor is getting back to his best, I think he's one of the best centre backs in scotland when fully fit. Mcausland is still learning but has all the physical attributes. Another season I think he'll be fantastic. We have Goodwin, Naismith and Kelly who can all cover for injurys and suspension. IMO a centre half would be a complete waste of money
  20. Some absolutely ridiculous comments on here by what seems to be the same 10-15 people. The only player of note released was grainger. He wasn't good enough, non issue really. Harkins was most likely signed as a replacement for gowser who ended up staying. Sent him on loan, non issue. Also Danny Lennon would of known exactly how good the youngsters were before the season, it's not "by luck" they've came through.
  21. I don't think anyone will remember Gus's tenure. I know I want to remove it from my memory. You still haven't gave any reasons, this isn't how discussions work.
  22. Well I won't ask you to repost an arm full of reasons, unless you have small arms. But what I will ask is who would you bring in? And what do you think could have been done differently? Despite a lot of negativity I've seen by 15 or so forum users the history books will show DL as a very very successful st mirren manager
  23. ^Standard response from a goon. Why not tell me your reasons for wanting a new manager instead of posting petty insults?
  24. Most fans don't comment on forums, it's a very very small number that do. The people I sit around at the games feel DL should be given a new contract and I agree. When was the last time we had youth players coming through the ranks like we do now? Before, we would sign journeymen and play hoof ball. It was painful to watch and made me dread Saturdays. Although it doesn't always work under DL at least we have excitement and good football at times. We are also sitting 9th, 4 points off 7th I don't know what more we can ask for with a club our size, until the club is sold and funds are made available changing the manager won't achieve anything
