I think the pursuit and securing of Mr Shankland, or somebody similar, is critical to our season.
I don't happen to think Thompson is finished but I do believe he hasn't a full season in him being our main striker.
We will struggle to score goals if we rely only on Thompson and without scoring you don't win games.
If we had Shankland I'd feel a lot more confident we could make a decent challenge and give Thompson the chance to play when he's fit and strong.

Great to see young Lewis Morgan play well, he is an excellent winger with pace to burn. Would like to see him make that left wing position on the first team his, with McMullan on the right.
Would you have given any of the trialists a deal based on what you saw?
