  1. Im honestly struggling to understand you here. Doesn't the fans council offer ideas etc? They came up with the golf days, scratch cards, one-off events like the Anglo cup night, league cup winners night, the topps day, beer tent/live entertainment etc. Is that not enough fan input for you there?
  2. Seriously? So Ian hendersons job is to add 'directorship of a professional football club ' to his CV, sit back and expect the paying supporters to do his role? Does someone peel grapes for him on match days also?
  3. His point is valid though, I'm no expert in company law but could our board of directors be close to breaching their responsibilities as directors of a company. If the club needs a cash injection and there is a supporters group willing to invest shouldn't they be looking to free up the share assets? Wasn't there some Scottish government ruling recently about supporters groups having first opportunity to buy into shares? As said I'm no expert but no way would I expect ordinary fans to further finance the debacle we have become.
  4. That was my thinking also. Someone posted on another thread that the commercial director sold the car parking operation to one of his own companies, is that the case?
  5. Our last commercial director came up with that one if I remember correctly. Bring yer scants down before the game and they would be washed and dried foe the final whistle? Can't quite remember the details. Would be a total money spinner this season mind you. At least he thought outside the box.
  6. Let's be honest here, if that's the only contribution after a year then that's a poor return. You will probably find posts from members on here suggesting we utilise the carpark for this purpose 6 years ago.
  7. If the board seriously want to raise revenue then they can sell shares to the general support or smisa. What do they control now, approx 75%? If they did that then at least you will receive something meaningful for your tenner.
  8. Just a wee reminder from almost a year ago: Ian said I am hugely excited at the opportunity to take on the challenges of the Commercial Department and I am conscious that any success coming from the commercial activities at the Club can help to build success on the park" So just how are things going since his appointment, has anyone heard any update on his progress at the club? I'm not having a go at him, I just haven't heard anything from him and what he has done to improve commercial revenue in the past year. How about a match day laundrette service?
  9. How do our gate prices and season tickets compare to other clubs in this league? Probably amongst the highest already, people will not want to effectively add another £100 to the cost of the season with no guarantee that it will actually achieve anything. If budgets guaranteed league placings then we should already be around 3Rd in the table. Would need another 10k hours type drive to get support for this idea. Who's going to pay for the bar now?
  10. This agreement you read/heard about was confirmed by rae and the board reneged on it? Is that what you're saying as fact?
  11. I think every manager will want more money and resources for the team, hardly surprising. Fortunately we have custodians who operate within a strict budget. You seem to be in the know however so are you saying rae took the job without knowing what he was working with?
  12. You do realise that the club operates as a business with different budgets for different areas? Playing budget, maintenance budget etc. If all the money went to the team budget the stadium would fall into ruin and the training facilities will close. I think you need to calm down and be assured the playing budget will remain competitive for this league and funds from it will not be redirected for other projects.
  13. I get that but you need to realise that when you're on the committee of an organisation then what you say personally will reflect on that organisation. It's like Donald trump calling for a ban on Muslims entering America then saying it's his own thoughts and nothing to do with his bid for the presidency. But sniping at initiatives like the scoreboard which brings in money on a weekly basis does you no good. It's like you dismiss all others efforts and value only your own. I look forward to seeing some of your own initiatives coming to fruition and will support them for the good of the club.
  14. Not exactly on topic but I've meant to join smisa although when I see prominent members (I'm assuming buddiecat is a member of their committee) doing down others then it does their reputation no good and puts me right off them. If buddiecat is not on the smisa committee then I apologise, it's just that he/she seems to make official statements on their behalf and when I see the same poster making dismissive remarks about other organisations and initiatives around the club then I questions smisas own agenda. If smisa committee members ever realise their goal of club ownership then they might eventually appreciate the efforts of the people in the fans council or partnerships with the local university instead of sniping at them.
  15. Smisa and the fans council should hold a wrestling contest at half times to raise cash.
  16. Buddiecat, have you tried contacting the fans council for clarification on the scratchcards and your concerns about the sellers?
  17. The OP obviously has a personal gripe with the fans council for some reason. On another thread the is criticising Brian Caldwell for the creation of the fans council and the link up with the university. Incidentally just what has that link provided? St.Mirren radio, providing live commentary of away games available free to all. St.Mirren TV, live home matches available to ex-pats? Hospitality catering saving the club money? Anything else? I'm unsure how this initiative with the university can be anything other than positive but some people can be incredibly bitter. The fans council, can't say I take much of an interest but they organise events and raise money for the club. Chancers the lot of them!
  18. What glittering careers both those wonderful managers have had since leaving St.Mirren. No, wait........
  19. I agree with your sentiments here. You have taken the time to write this but not taken the time to reply to 'doakes' who has offered to get together with you and actually do something about it?
  20. Who? And regarding your first point, the smoke dissipated within 30 secs so yes, it is ineffective in an outdoor environment.
  21. Despite people explaining and posting links showing these devices you still persist in your agenda driven argument. Perhaps the fact there have been zero suicide attacks or aircraft used as guided missiles on St.mirren Park is a direct result of the security measures put in place. Or perhaps you're just being a fanny and using terrorist atrocities in your latest petty dig at St.mirren?
  22. Smoke bombs are easier to conceal than ak47s. Only way you could be 100% sure that no smoke bombs are sneaked in is to carry out full strip searches of everyone entering. Are you seriously comparing smoke bombs to terrorist attacks and if so will you be happy being stripped searched before each game?
  23. At least he is wearing matching nail varnish.
  24. Is that a printed badge, if so then that's taking the piss, £40 for a t-shirt with a print on it?
