Good post. I was listening to Nigel Pearson manager of Derby County being interviewed the other day and he said that supporters had to appreciate what his players had gone through mentally over the last 4 or 5 seasons narrowly missing out on promotion year on year. It strikes me that Saints supporters are probably in a tough place just now having watched 3-4 seasons of really gash football from poor players and often an embarrassing lack of commitment to the jersey. I dont think the Saints fans are being greedy to expect a team to be competitive and make us proud to be Saints fans. I take my hat off to all the Saints supporters who turn up every week and who care enough to post on here. To my mind its not the fans that need to take a look at themselves. What makes a St Mirren player?

Just an observation, he'll a thought some might say.
Any decent team I've seen in any league set up over the years anywhere look like a potent threat when they have pace and width. It's a simple sounding observation but is and has been a constantly winning formula.
I don't understand where the difficulty is, genuinely ?!
By setting up a team to be pacey through the middle and have some attempts at playing with width has always been a formula for success at any level. Are there no midfield players capable of passing and moving, and wingers playing football anymore ?
3-4-2-1, 4-4-2, 4-3-2-1, 6-4, 5-5, 4-2-3-1, dress it up anyway you want but surely pace and width, wow, this surely isn't beyond the wit of coaching nowadays. It's what some fans want to see teams try to do. Any team that looks like it has pace about it will always appear to carry a threat.
Why do St Mirren look leaden footed, sluggish and scared to run fast with a football ?
    Only  askin like..............

If we were playing some decent football and competing I would, even if results were not good. However we are a sorry lot and have been outplayed in every game except Edinburgh City this season with a style of football that would make your eyes bleed. And the next game is Groundhog Day all over again. I see absolutely no grounds for things to improve.

'One town, one team' is the slogan I believe, but apparently only when it suits to promote us that way. If it were true this decision should've been done by vote from those season ticket holders in the south stand, put all the facts on the table and allow us supporters to make the call and feel valued. Gilmour should be looking after his loyal customers, us. I'm absolutely sickened by this.

There is more to running a professional football club in the 21st century than getting a squad of dopey players on the park.
Our clubs official website is a cobbled together Wordpress effort that has not been redesigned for at least six years and clearly fan/customer communication is a major issue. There are issues with the stadium, PA system, branding, disabled access, general fan engagement, etc.
We need to think of the bigger issues of fan involvement, stadium improvements, social media, etc to take the club forward. Current BOD are not up to it. Think people within the fan base could do a better job.

Brand new team. Sadly it's probably going to get worse, if that's possible, before it gets better.
