Remember the spin of Middlesborough wanting him. You have to laugh -

The decision to give Stubbs any contract at SMFC is a costly one. I really hope I am wrong on this but nothing I have seen since making that point weeks ago on this forum has changed. He failed at Hibs and Rotherham and has never managed at Premiership level. Of the candidates for the job the vast majority of SMFC fans wanted him over other managers who had successfully managed at Premiership level -
I'm more than happy for you to post whatever you hear positive or negative. I wouldn't have quoted the player though ?

He was subsequently suspended for five matches, fined £100 and ordered to complete an FA equality course.[17] -

bound to be a cracker in the English non league. Is that not where the flapper O'Brien went to sit on the bench. Did a ball ever stick to him -

Will 100% eat humble pie if they are a success, same with Stubbs. Its only my opinion, might be negative but unfortunately sometimes things aren't all happy clappy. -

We have 3 from non league in England already plus McGinn who we previously released. Its going well so far. Hopefully the pattern and criteria change pretty damn quick -

https://www.themillers.co.uk/news/2016/june/stubbs-promises-quality-signings/ Bet the Rotherham fans are impressed with the quality signings. Stubbs should never have been given the SMFC job and we are going to pay a heavy price for it. He was a failure in the Championship with one of the top sides in Scotland, a total flop at Rotherham and his signing policy so far at St Mirren is shocking IMO -

Biggest fee paid in 25 years for a player from National League South. Do me a favour. Absolutely staggering gamble. If anyone of note was after him in England he wouldn't be at St Mirren. A striker from Truro for the Premiership in Scotland who comes from part time football, got to be making it up. I wasn't fussed about Reilly moving on, I am now ! Both these signings make me really worried and anyone who isn't is kidding themselves. Hope to be totally wrong but not looking good IMO. -
Couldn't care less if Reilly has gone, he's not good enough for the Premiership, unfortunately neither are our other strikers ! Jack Ross pulled the wool over fans eyes with the "buying with a view to next season" in Jan. What he was buying for was to 100% get out the Championship and then rebuild for the Premiership this close season, hence the 9 new players he talked about. Impressed with Stubbs handling of Reilly, a good start. If Jack Ross signs Gavin Reilly for Sunderland he'll fail early as manager. Reilly is low level Div 2 in England at absolute best. Doubt there is a grain of truth in Ross being linked with ex SMFC players and all just press and internet bull.

I would have though Alan Stubbs was absolutely minted from his playing days and wouldnt need to chase money ? Jack Ross is a different story. He didnt make huge money from football and now is his chance to sort himself and family as well as fufil his ambition. Lennon wasn't getting offered anything, not really sure why tbh and took a gamble on Bolton which backfired big time
-
I know I worked in Edinburgh too and I know the stick they took from Hearts fans. United coming down though changed it for him. I think any more defeats at Dumbarton etc would have done for him by October and the Hibs board would have pulled the trigger, so he took the Rotherham job. I was waiting for him to move at the end of that season. I knew he would. Anyway it doesn't matter anymore as he's the man chosen so lets hope he does the job
-
I think you'll find he left Hibs cause the bullet was ready to be fired. No other reason IMO, he knew he was on borrowed time. Cups didnt matter at Easter Road. Being in Premiership was Stubbs brief.
-
I think it is tbh. McIntyre has operated at our level with QOS, Dunfermline and Ross County. He spent 3 succesful IMO seasons in the Premiership and ironically turned over Stubbs, Hibs team in League Cup final. The turn around job he did at Ross County first season was outstanding and testament to his coaching ability, much like Jack Ross. Stubbs has never operated in club at our level and has no top league management experience. At Rotherham where his resources were small, he totally flopped and made a shambles of his time there. They have now recovered with his replacement Warne. A 3 year contract is a nonsense also. 2 years max. So much as people have reservations about McIntyre, Stubbs for me is a way bigger gamble and risk but hey its done now, so hopefully I am proved completely wrong and we go onto top 6
-
We'll be paying that off for a good while ! What a cr@p appointment. Never managed in Premiership, couldn't get Hibs out of Championship and made a horlicks of Rotherham but hey he did a job in Everton academy ! I never even thought he was in the race. Can't believe he's suckered us into a 3 year deal. Guess need to get full square behind him and hope he proves me wrong.
