  1. Appointing Guti will be a disaster for St Mirren. If he had the slightest bit of talent he wouldn't be anywhere near the Scottish Premiership. Just beggars belief that our board would even consider it. Kluivert and McCarthy is every bit as bad. They need to appoint a proper manager and get it done quick.
  2. Well if United had appointed them instead of Lazlo at the time I think things might have been a bit more interesting. Keeping Ross County up when he did was a fantastic job and winning the league cup equally so. McGregor made a monumental error sacking them and deserved what he got for it. Did well at QOS and Dunfermline also. Think one or 2 are getting carried away with how big SMFC really are. They are more than capable of doing the job. The job is keeping us up next season pure and simple, all the top six stuff is just bull
  3. Also done a good job at Doncaster. Well capable of doing SMFC job
  4. What the heck is wrong with McIntyre and Dodds. They are more than able to do the job. If we get better then great but whats the big downer on these 2 ?
  5. Apart from the Stubbs bit I'd say correct.
  6. I'd say it was Jack Ross's input that done for Neilson ? Wrong appointment and we have dodged a bullet. Kearney or McIntrye unless there is some left field candidate
  7. The Sunderland job is not too big for Jack Ross. He's a gamble for Sunderland as he's only managed at Scottish Championship level but they will have done their due diligence on him and came to conclusion that he is well capable. I really don't know how you can say he's not capable. His management record is first class at Alloa and St Mirren. He's hugely regarded by players and coaches alike. Terrific man manager and motivator. All these talents attracted Sunderland. I personally think Jack Ross will be a huge success at Sunderland. What more do you think Jack Ross could have achieved ?
  8. Kearney would be a huge gamble we have just had 20 months of recovery why risk wasting it by January !
  9. Of the listed candidates it should be a straight fight between Neilson and McIntrye. I wouldnt consider any of the rest. Why are we for one second potentially taking a gamble on McCoist. If Ally McCoist wants another chance in management he should do it in the Championship or lower and prove himself. He is not what we need right now. I prefer McIntrye but Robbie Neilson is far better option than any of the others and knows what it takes like Jim McIntyre.
  10. The same thing happened with Derek Adams and look at the job he's doing at Plymouth as well as Ross County. I think McGregor is the common denominator here ?
  11. Why would McIntyre immediately mean a relegation battle as opposed to Neilson. With the teams that Jim McIntyre had in the Premiership it was always going to be a relegation battle. He did win a cup with Ross County !!!. Would you take back Danny Lennon over Neilson ? Going up this season is always most likely going to be a relegation battle with our current resources. At least McIntrye has successful experience of it. Neilson doesn't ? Neilson managed Hearts one of the biggest clubs in Scotland with Levein overseeing everything. I personally think Jim McIntyre would have achieved every bit as much success at Hearts as Robbie Neilson did. I also don't think he'd have failed at MK Dons in the way Neilson did. That has to be a concern ? McIntyre has always managed in his own right and been successful. Neilson had an experienced and capable manager like Levein for guidance and help. I'm hoping we get better than either
  12. So whats holding it up. You mentioned that a few days back ?
  13. Why not us ? I reckon Jim McIntyre is well capable of doing the SMFC job with Billy Dodds as assistant. I'd personally prefer him to Neilson of all the obvious, probably lazy candidates listed. Have a feeling it will be none of the obvious though.
  14. Magennis is the only player in the St Mirren squad who Jack Ross would remotely look at and that would need to be the Magennis of the season before last to get a game at Sunderland. McGinn would struggle to find a League 2 team in England and Reilly for me would be Conference !
  15. He doesn't have to restore a reputation and to be honest i'm amazed Sunderland have appointed Jack Ross with the level of experience he has. Lambert won League One with Norwich, bounced them through the Championship the following season then kept them in the Premiership !. Far better choice than Jack Ross ?
  16. Nothing noteworthy ? At Aston Villa, managed a Premiership club in England for 3 seasons with an abysmal American owner in Lerner and you think that's nothing noteworthy ? He went to Blackburn and stabalised the mess Coyle had left. Asked Venky's for money to mount a push in the Championship the for the following season and left due to the response. They got relegated the next season. He took over a Wolves team fighting relegation and go them safe that season, getting the team playing to the extent that they beat Liverpool at Anfield. He left as the club ownership changed to a signing process where Jorge Mendes would provide the players. Lambert wanted involvement. So again he left. In highsight with the players they signed probably the wrong move ? He went to Stoke who were a basket case. Weeded out all the trouble makers, got all the players playing for him and wasn't a million miles away from succeeding. Again premiership club. Ever though why Stoke board appointed the guy. Go and ask Jack Butland and Charlie Adam about Lambert's time at Stoke. At Wycombe, Colchester and Norwich he was outstanding. Also played at the highest level and won the Champions League I didn't think we'd be in the running for Lambert but if we get him he will be a superb appointment. Utterly amazes me the total junk that's thrown the way of coaches like Billy Davies and Paul Lambert.
  17. Derby County, Preston, Notts Forrest a level way above anything the Premiership in Scotland has to offer. Only Celtic are better than any of these clubs. Of all the candidates listed he is head and shoulders above them.
  18. Yep Billy Reid is another good shout. He should have taken Swansea job when oferred it. Unlikely though.
  19. Well of all the managers mentioned Billy Davies is streets ahead. He is a stronger manager than Jack Ross currently is and is proven at the top level with multiple clubs. We offered the job to him 18 months ago and Hearts would have too if he hadn't in effect told Levein he'd be surplus to requirements. Davies would do the job that Clarke has done for Kilmarnock. His record in management is way stronger than Clark's also. So if you prefer a flop like Neilson so be it but doesn't come close to Davies on any measure
  20. Depends if new manager wants him. If its Neilson I doubt it
