Top 6 Game 1, Hibs v St Mirren 6/5/23
W6er replied to faraway saint's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Tempted to go through to Edinburgh for this one. We should take a decent following. I really hate to predict how we'll do there. We're capable of getting something. I would actually be happy with a point. -
At the risk of being considered a spam merchant, give there are two threads discussing the same thing, I will repost what I have just written in the other thread here: Hibs away is a MUST NOT LOSE game. They have the advantage being at home, too. Obviously all the fixtures will be difficult, I mean Aberdeen have won eight in a row and are looking very good right now. Celtic Park is an unlikely place to get points. Can lightning strike twice and we get something from Rangers at home? Otherwise it's a case of going to Tynecastle for something. I desperately want European football, but this is not going to be easy at all.

St Mirren v Kilmarnock SPFL PREMIERSHIP 22/4/23

If we finish 5th and ICT or Falkirk beat the Ugly Sisters, we will not qualify for Europe. If we finish 5th, we'll surely all be supporting whichever Sister gets to the final? -

Third spot would be amazing, but realistically it's a lot to ask to make up a six point gap, let alone nine points. So really an Aberdeen win won't make much difference. Remember we will have two games against the Old Firm. I think 4th spot is achievable, but even that will be a big ask. I'd be delighted with 5th place. What are the chances ICT or Falkirk win the cup if we do finish 5th? 🤨 -

I was there. The performance was disappointing, indeed. We were terrible, and once we went down to ten men that was the game finished. However, we're in the top six, and hopefully this is just a blip. -

Great stuff! I agree, The Northbank have improved the atmosphere. I love what the murals, too. -

I'm sure the ground used to hold just over 8,000? Most online resources state it's 8,023. Was that before the disabled section was put in in M1? -

I hope we've given them the entire stand, and not closed off the section close to the North Bank! In which case we're looking at 7,900+ tomorrow. -

According to P&B, Killie have 150 tickets left. I hope that's true. Could be a proper sell out tomorrow, if so. -
So you are known as Mr TPAFKA Jersey 2? 😉 What's the story behind that? W6er is my one and only alias on here.

Fair point. I sometimes wonder if there are only about three regular users on this site! 🤣

I have heard folk refer to Jim as a 'snake'. He's nothing of the sort, IMHO. He's a great bloke, as exemplified by the fact he stopped for your son, despite apparently being in a rush. Nobody can fault him for taking a job that pays a lot more, given he has a family to support. Who wouldn't do the same? I wish him success in the future. -
If Shull does indeed operate sock puppets, I would suggest that would make him the puppeteer. Unless Shull is, in fact, @div's sock puppet! 🤣
-
You're correct, I'm certainly not au fait with the type of thing; I thought folk mostly used it to watch films and sports by disguising their real location, so as to circumvent regional streaming restrictions. You have to admit, it will come in handy to those who want to have various sock puppets on the forum. However, I'm not accusing you of being a sock puppet and I had no idea such accusations had been levelled at you before last night. I count dots (seats) in my spare time, so it would be ridiculous and hypocritical for me to give advice about how one should more fruitfully occupy their time, but if there really are folk who create sock puppets so that they can endorse posts made by their 'main' identity, presumably in a bid to 'win the day', then that is hysterically funny. 🤣 I would love to believe that's true.

🤣 Just the one account's more than enough for me! I take it you're going to the match tomorrow?! 🤩

I was accused of being another poster when I first joined the forum, in fact my accuser was none other than @faraway saint! Was it St. Ricky I was mistaken for? I cannot find his username, but folk used to call him Fricky, IIRC. I would therefore caution folk about jumping to conclusions. However, @Albanian Buddy did say he chose his username because that was where his IP address was located, so he stated (or perhaps implied) that he was using a VPN, which I did find a little odd. He seems very hostile towards me, however, whereas Faraway's mostly pleasant. I would say I don't care, but having written the above I imagine that will be considered dishonest. Truth is I cannot stay off here at the moment, due to my excitement for the game on Saturday. I feel like a kid at Christmas, I just hope I don't receive a lump of coal.
-
@Albanian Buddy, I sing it and I like it in a way. I just cringe a bit, as I feel a bit old to sing it. Every time I watch Footy Adventures every group of Ultras seem to sing the same tedious song. I came across that Swansea song and thought it was a nice tune and easily adapted. Anyway, I suppose it will be up to the boys on the Northbank. ETA: I think W7 can still be referred to as the Northbank, as it is the north end of the ground, albeit located on the West side.

Fewer than forty-eight hours to go... I hate it when I get this excited about the Saints, as it's usually an anti-climax. Plus, the downside of a sell-out is I can't do a dot count. Also I have stopped drinking, so even if we win 5-0 I cannae have a celebratory drink. I will just go home and watch it all again in Gaelic... -
It's not a bad song. I always feel a tad embarrassed singing 'North Bank Aggaro, we'll take you on whoever you may be'... I sing it regardless, but I'm in my forties now and feel a bit daft. Anyway, it's not to replace a song...there can be two Northbank songs.

We wore the black and white stripes before Newcastle, Juve and Notts County. As of yet I have not found a club that wore them before us.
