  1. @Albanian Buddy, I sing it and I like it in a way. I just cringe a bit, as I feel a bit old to sing it. Every time I watch Footy Adventures every group of Ultras seem to sing the same tedious song. I came across that Swansea song and thought it was a nice tune and easily adapted. Anyway, I suppose it will be up to the boys on the Northbank. ETA: I think W7 can still be referred to as the Northbank, as it is the north end of the ground, albeit located on the West side.
  2. Fewer than forty-eight hours to go... I hate it when I get this excited about the Saints, as it's usually an anti-climax. Plus, the downside of a sell-out is I can't do a dot count. Also I have stopped drinking, so even if we win 5-0 I cannae have a celebratory drink. I will just go home and watch it all again in Gaelic...
  3. It's not a bad song. I always feel a tad embarrassed singing 'North Bank Aggaro, we'll take you on whoever you may be'... I sing it regardless, but I'm in my forties now and feel a bit daft. Anyway, it's not to replace a song...there can be two Northbank songs.
  4. We wore the black and white stripes before Newcastle, Juve and Notts County. As of yet I have not found a club that wore them before us.
  5. According to historicalkits.co.uk we wore black and white stripes in 1884: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Scottish_Football_League/St_Mirren/St_Mirren.htm Notts County first wore them in 1890: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Notts_County/Notts_County.htm
  6. Here's one: Paisley, oh Paisley, Saint Mirren sang I I'll be standing on the Northbank until the day I die Take me to Saint Mirren Park, down in Paisley Where I will follow the mighty Saints Saint Mirren FC
  7. If we make 4th, we recoup that £million we lost previously. But finishing third would perhaps set us up for a few years. We really need to win on Saturday, but I will take a draw.
  8. How about a new song? This is one that Swansea City used to sing, which I think is class, and is easily adaptable... New Northbank Song.mp4 Paisley, oh Paisley, St Mirren Sang I I'll be standing on the Northbank until the day I die [This is where you need to be a little bit creative] Some features from our history that I think are worth mentioning: We played Barcelona in 1922 - https://www.stmirren.com/all-news/4444-the-barcelona-cup-100-years-on We were the first club in the world to wear black and white stripes (as far as I can tell - ours pre-date Newcastle's, Notts County's and Juventus's) Plus, of course, there's our cup wins and the fact we hate the Old Firm & Morton Maybe some of our more talented members could compose some more lyrics to the tune? @div could even make it a competition.
  9. If we finish 6th we get £200k more (than 7th) in prize money and no European spot. So I would suggest our games post-split will be massive too. Conversely, if we finish in the bottom six, the season's over - we're just playing for a greater share of prize money...which, of course, is preferable to a relegation battle. Source: https://www.totalsportal.com/football/scottish-premiership-prize-money/ Third spot is massive, getting an extra £1 million! But is that realistic? It's possible. If we finish in the top-six and beat Aberdeen in the first game, we can surely dream. But, I too am getting ahead of myself. 🤪
  10. That's good news. Do you think we will have given them the section closest to the Northbank? We seem to not offer that nowadays. Anyway, they have 400 left, apparently (which is basically what you wrote, too):
  11. Really that cannot be overstated. If we finished third we'd stand to receive £8.5 million from the European ties and prize money combined. That's massive for us. We really could finish third, though I would suggest 4th is more realistic.
  12. I don't think it will be a sell out, because Killie have only sold just over 1,000 tickets. Unfortunately, as things stand, that means ~600 empty seats in the away end. It would be great if they sold it out, though. I'm extremely nervous, but even if the worst happened and we lost, I would expect Dundee Utd to get something from Livingston. Also, there's the chance of a St. Johnstone bounce following Davidson's departure. Still, it's natural to fear the worst.

They finished with a record low points total as I recall.

I know Derek McInnes has his critics, but I very much doubt he'll field a bunch of amputees! I think you're hoping for a wee bit too much, there. 😉

I've been following that closely. I don't like Buckie as apparently they don't want to get promoted, in which case they're a bit of a pointless club (not literally, of course, as they actually have 87 points). I'd love to see Brechin win on Saturday, too.
  16. He's not kept in a small cage in Edinburgh Zoo...and gets all the pies he can eat.
  17. The team you think are the most vocal away from home: Dundee fans impressed me a lot last season, especially given their league position. The team you think are the most vocal at home: I haven't been to enough away games to answer. The team with the support you respect the most: Motherwell fans are similar to us. Despite being close to Glasgow they're loyal and passionate. The team with the support that are just a bit dull: Killie fans made very little noise on 3rd Jan. The team with the support that you dislike most: I honestly have respect for all fans outside the glory-hunting OF scum.
  18. We could have sold more for this game. But when was the last time we sold out? Dundee Utd in the play-offs, wasn't it? I think the stadium's adequate and we certainly would never recoup the money we'd spend developing it. However, if this was to happen frequently, and there's no reason why we can't grow our support, then I would see the need for expansion. Currently four seats left in the Family Stand, btw.
  19. ETA: I can see nine still available on the website.
  20. Well there are now twelve tickets left! So I would expect the club to release the others.
  21. Less than 50 according to my quick dot count. They'll be gone by 14:00.
  22. According to the online site: - there are now just TEN seats left in the West Stand - 9 in W1 and 1 in W7. - EIGHT seats are left in the Main Stand. Is it right that Curtis already has a stand named after him, btw? 🤔
