  1. Bank Holiday Monday just keeps getting better and better.
  2. Nice to see it’s not just us you’re negative about. 🤣
  3. Nazon and Cooke? You can’t help yourself can you?🤣
  4. Agree with all of that except the “inflicting injuries” part. Ultimately, let’s just f**king beat them and see who has the bottle on the last day.
  5. The extra two day rest will hopefully help Flynn. We miss his experience when he’s not in the team.
  6. Kyle’s goal could yet prove to very important as we can now stay up without winning both games. Accies are at the bottom end of the table for a reason. They are not a good side and could easily lose the final two games. Only thing that matters is next Monday. If we win it’s onto Dens for a “cup final” on the last day. If we don’t then we rest those carrying knocks on the last day and watch the championship playoffs with interest to see who we get. We’d all have taken either scenario a few months ago.
  7. Popescu is head and shoulders above the others in terms of ability. I like GMac but he is a little slow whereas Jack has a bit of pace. If I was choosing a pairing it would be to Baird’s detriment. I’m still not convinced he’s got what’s required at this level but I love his attitude.
  8. I didn’t say sectarianism was “purely a problem of society”, therefore I’m not complicit in refusing to recognise it as a problem of the supporters at two clubs only. I have Celtic supporting colleagues at work who attest to being regularly abused at Tynecastle, Rugby Park and Dens to name a few grounds with some fans who align themselves with one side of the religious divide. The drop of 1,000 home fans has been explained on here a number of times and cannot simply be laid at the door of who we were playing irrespective of how desperate you are for that to support your argument. (Midweek game, live tv, not expected to win etc.) “Terrorism comes calling?” See my above comment re hyperbole. Give it a rest. I’ve been watching my team play Celtic for over 40 years and over that time we’ve regularly given them the majority of our stadium and it’s not “terminally damaged” our home support. I’m sure you’ll wait eagerly for the accounts to be released so you can twist them to whatever anti-board rant you’ll be on at the time but irrespective of how much you stamp your wee feet this one isn’t changing. I’d rather not have them at both ends but the best way to do that is to sell more tickets and it always has been.
  9. I didn’t say anyone’s words mattered more than anyone else but the decision has been made by the BOD, explained by the BOD and confirmed that it will continue by the BOD. I feel that should probably draw a line under it.
  10. I’ve never thought McLean to be any better or worse than most but his performance yesterday was poor and perhaps was impacted by Clarke’s OTT criticism last week?
  11. The drama and hyperbole surrounding this is ridiculous, even for this forum. We make money from giving away fans the family stand. That supports the playing budget and is a sound commercial decision by the BOD. Sectarianism in the West of Scotland is a societal problem which our kids are as likely to be exposed to in school playgrounds as football matches tbh. Anyone on here who runs their own business and says they’d do something different has either never faced adversity in that venture (in which case I congratulate you) or is lying to support their argument. It doesn’t matter what additional revenue streams we produce, this will still be a commercially sound decision until we fill that stand on our own. It was still more than half empty yesterday and the club put on a great offer to encourage kids to come though the gates. If people think the BOD don’t do enough to encourage more fans then call Gordon and give him your ideas. If people think he’s lying about the commercial benefit then I ask you “to what end”? Why bring this grief from a section of fans if what irks them isn’t helping our club? His statement should put an end to this but sadly it won’t.
  12. Not sure why you continually berate McGinn? Since the beginning of March we’ve played 8 games. If you take the Celtic game out of the equation then our only two defeats came against Killie and St Johnstone. Both 1-0 defeats and both games without McGinn in the line up. McGinn want even close to being the worst of the park today.
  13. They won’t beat Dundee next week. That’s a banker draw.
  14. We need to start with a back four next week and have Jackson and Magennis on from the start. We’ve looked better every time we’ve gone two up. Mullen is simply too isolated otherwise. Despite Accies late goal that felt like a big point today. If we beat Accies and Dundee we will avoid play off IMO as that would mean Accies would need to win their other two games (away at Dundee and home to St Johnstone on the last day) as a result of the goal difference. I think that’s doable for this team.
  15. Agreed, however, he’s right. These pitches make economic sense for the clubs that have them and I don’t see them disappearing anytime soon unfortunately.
  16. So, what did we learn today? We’re not the soft touches we were earlier this season. Gary McKenzie can play on an artificial pitch.[emoji6] Good things happen when you actually shoot. Magennis will be a BIG player over the next 4 weeks. Fans were f**king magnificent. There is a real belief about this team. We are staying up!
  17. I think it may be close to that bud. 1,800 tickets @ say £25 each x 3 games. That’s about £135k. Would the extra policing and non-season ticket buddies who don’t go amount to £35k? If it does that would still leave £100k which is a couple of players for us.
  18. ^^^^^^^^^^^ Furious backpedaling after the most ludicrous statement from you in some time and thats saying something.
  19. 🤣 McIntyre? 6 defeats on the bounce? Blood and guts right enough.
  20. Congratulations sir. You’ve won post of the day![emoji106]
  21. The first one on Dreyer should’ve been worth two on its own. It’s a f**king assault!🤣
  22. Hibs and Hearts have a big stand to give to Rangers and Celtic and can almost fill the remainder with home fans. Do you truly believe if they only had 1,700 tickets to give them behind a goal they wouldn’t find a way to maximise it? Motherwell already give them about 4,000 from one stand. St Johnstone give them both ends and a section of their main stand. Livi give everything except the home dugout. Accies give what we had, a bit of their main stand and the gazebo. Killie always give them both ends and have previous for moving season tickets to accommodate them. Not sure about Dundee. Scottish football is all about the money the OF bring through the gates. That’s why most of the Premiership teams voted to keep Rangers in the top league. I understand how you feel and wish there was a better way to resolve it. Our stadium design doesn’t really offer any other fix so I guess we’re stuck with this for the foreseeable future.
  23. ^^^^^^^^^ Absolutely this. If we’d lost to Dundee Kearney would’ve been slaughtered for playing guys that had been out of the team for an age. 4 days later he’s getting slaughtered for resting them with another, arguably more important game, 3 days later.
