  1. We're getting substantially more powers despite the No vote. There will continue to be a shift to SNP from Labour. The call for independence won't go away. Let it go.....and accept the inevitable.
  2. Wow. No voters NOT happy today. I've never experienced so many unhappy winners. pRick is still fighting September's battles by whining about oil prices and everyone else is upset. In the meantime it's one more risk to independence which has been removed and the vote losers continue to win. Has there actually been any bad news for the Yes side since the vote was lost? Any at all? Has there been any good news for the No side?
  3. Maybe but you can be certain that nobody is overestimating yours.

No idea what your talking about.

And that will never change whilst we are in the UK. In the meantime, the only option available to me is to vote for the party who will fight hardest for Scotland's interests. If anyone genuinely thinks this is either the Tories or Labour then they weren't paying attention during the referendum.

There's a point your trying to make here. You're hiding it well though. Care to elaborate?

Sigh! OK I'll have a wee go. Let me make this as abundantly clear as I possibly can. It's an utter irrelevance to Scotland who gets into power at Westminster because we'll get whoever England wants regardless. It is our sole duty as voters therefore to vote for the party we think is most likely to fight for Scotland. Now if you are suggesting, and I think you are, that the parties who are best at fighting for Scotland are either Labour or Tories then I have to throw back my head in a theatrical pose and do the following........

The UKIP surge is purely based on their racist views on immigration. It taps into the English anti-foreigner mindset.

Another poster who looks at a racist, homophobic UKIP party and thinks they are comparable with the SNP?

I must have missed the endless stream of SNP MSP's talking about how foreigners should be deported after a grace period. I must also have missed the endless stream of anti-homosexual, anti-women and anti-EU bile from them as well. I really need to start reading newspapers more often. I'm missing everything.
  11. Is this a serious post? Are you possibly the only football fan in the country who doesn't understand what's happening to our clubs regarding finances?
  12. He was clearly talking about the evolution of man to compare levels of intelligence. I'm looking at the picture he then posted and I can't see why you'\d possible think of disabled people when you look at it. Away and have a lie down and stop pretending to look for things to be faux offended at.

It's only relevant to Scotland because we need to understand why we are not seeing this UKIP surge here. Only the SNP are stopping it by being a party who are clearly seen to be fighting for our country tooth and nail. That's why UKIP have no voice here. The SNP are getting it. That needs to continue.
  14. Ach FFS get a grip man. Losing isn't fun but allowing it to affect you like this is not good news. And you're doing everyone's head in with this constant wallowing in self pity.
  15. Why are you telling us that? We've all known that for years. It's you who is wandering around various forums bleating about freebies and the "something for nothing" culture. Can we expect you to enlighten us tomorrow on how basic arithmetic or spelling works? Jeeeeeeez.

As a nation we voted for this. We knew full well that UKIP taking over was very likely and we voted No anyway. We are supposed to now be happy, embrace this and pipe down apparently. For those who still doubt the scale of the UKIP problem, this was their 271st target seat and they romped it overcoming a staggering 9000-odd margin.

Just what we need - on track for a racist, sexist, homophobic and intolerant party to rule England and by extension Scotland. Sooooooooo glad we voted No.
  18. I also said repeatedly that I wanted one side to hit a minimum of 60-65% to prevent problems like we're seeing now where the issue will remain live for the next decade or so.
  19. You're going to have to get used to the fact that because the No victory was tight the Yes supporters aren't going to go away. If you want to keep the UK together you're going to have to fight for it. The idea that 45% of the voters will simply let this lie is naive. I said before the vote that IMO 60-65% either way was needed as an absolute minimum to kill the issue. BT simply couldn't muster enough support to kill it. That's the reason why we're still talking about it. That's the reason why BT supporters are unhappy despite their win - they ultimately know it wasn't enough to win completely. Welcome to the new norm.
  20. Latest Survation poll suggests that those who want independence has increased by about 3%. Excluding DKs this is just under 47%. Clearly the appetite for independence isn't going away. You'd normally expect the losing side to fade away. It's highly unusual to see an increase like this in such a short space of time. Add that to the several other polls showing the appetite for independence increasing and the SNP and Greens struggling to cope with the increase in membership and the polls showing the possible decimation of Labour in Scotland as a political force at both Westminster and Holyrood and you've got the recipe for an interesting few years coming up. A manifesto commitment for a 2nd referendum in the 2021 Holyrood election is looking pretty likely.
  21. Nope not interested in engaging with him TBH.
  22. Things are improving. A few short years ago the poppy fascists in an act of unmitigated irony would have filled 8 pages with their bleating about this nonsense. WW1 was 100 years ago and WW2 started 75 years ago. There's barely a veteran alive now from either campaign. It's about time we stopped all this nonsense. It would be at least understandable if we had shown as a nation that we had learned from these wars. Our capers in Iraq, the Falklands and Afghanistan show we've learned nothing. Remebrance Day has been hijacked by veterans and families of veterans from other less worthy conflicts and that is what has killed it for me. All this Military wives and Help a Hero guff has basically stripped the entire thing of its dignity.
