  1. Nope. What is the point of accepting the cut in conditions because the owner threatens to put you out a job? If he is willing to do it now, what about in 2 years when the same stunt occurs? You'd be better off hoping new owners come in or looking to find something new especially if you are skilled.
  2. In the end, what is the point in accepting the conditions and working under that regime. If they do it once they'd do it again and all that. May as well close it, go and get oil jobs elsewhere or hope it gets reopened and bought by a new owner.
  3. The amount of private employment needs to be improved and worked on in the area. We need decent jobs and decent investors- but the problem is investment from abroad isn't great as they have no loyalty. I work in East Kilbride where Motorola is being demolished and JVC went long ago. Rolls Royce must be a fairly substantial employer too since they moved from East Kilbride to Inchinnan. The council states that of 115,000 people who are economically active in Renfrewshire, 66,100 work in Renfrewshire and 22,400 travel to Glasgow for work. 29,000 people travel into Renfrewshire to work.
  4. The problem is people know all about the status quo. The Yes side have to come out with really good information to convince people to vote yes and I haven't been overly convinced by them.
  5. 4 out of 4 from Glasgow although missing out on the bonus point was poor. Next up is the Scarlets. Be great if they could still be 100% going into the Heineken against European Champions Toulon.
  6. That's not bad. Seen a lot of them running about recently.
  7. Not just VW Diesels. Modern diesel engines are getting a bit fragile compared to older lumps as the technology on them gets more and more sophisticated.
  8. Than the Rapid? Think they are much of a muchness. Octavia is bigger still these days. How's the Berlingo- Citroen haven't a great reputation for reliability but you see a lot of them about- same with the Fiat Dioblo is it. Hmm 70K seems low since most are 100K ish on there, but it's a diesel auto that's just been going about London which isn't the fastest city and I'm not sure what effect that will have on modern diesel parts which are more fragile. Still probably worth a punt, non-premium cars in London tend to be cheaper, my car before the one I have was bought down there for about a grand cheaper than anyone up here would go for.
  9. The Seat Toledo is smaller than an Octavia. The equivalent Skoda to a Toledo is the Skoda Rapid which is the same car in a Skoda badge and same price.
  10. At the moment I'd say we'll struggle to beat the 23 points Gretna scored!
  11. The fact it's never a penalty makes the result more remarkable. A dodgy penalty at Parkhead for a diddy team. That will bring about armageddon. Fair play to the Ton the night.
  12. Daily Mail reported him as having a all cards on the table team meeting to discuss problems at the club. He said to them Looks like they did and the board said good call!
  13. See I think the Hartley thing has grown arms and legs and people have forgotten why they hate him only that they hate him. He was a wind up merchant, who responded to the crowd and gave as good as he got back.
  14. The thing to remember is Butcher came into the Inverness job, late on in January into a team that was poor, loads of defeats and Brewster looked defeated. He almost saved them too, Falkirk relegating them last day of the season. Butcher did well and no surprises they kept faith with him when they were relegated. The one note of concern is if we do hire a new manager and he gets relegated with this team we have little chance of automatic promotion as the Ibrox lot will be out to get back into the SPL and spending big again.
  15. Seems to be working OK for St Johnstone going non-experienced route. Coyle, McInnes, Lomas, Wright all came to the club from lower/non league with little experience at top level. The former 3 were taken for cash and Tommy Wright seems to be doing OK. Hartley would be a good appointment to be honest, but like you demonstrate some of our fans would not be able to separate him from his playing career and it would be a hard gig if a few of the fans were not behind him from the start.
  16. They shouldn't have appointed him. A panic move and O'Neill might have got them out of it but who knows. Everyone knew there would be tears sooner rather than later. Firing him is however the correct move and might let a sensible man-manager get the best out of the players but like you say he is stuck with Di Canio's players.
  17. If Billy Reid got the job I'd seriously think about finding something better to do on Saturday afternoons. I'd prefer to be a more open team and get relegated than watch his negative shite. Also not convinced he just got lucky at Accies.
  18. The record since the league cup is so bad I can't see any reason for retaining Danny. The performances haven't been there either. The replacement will be an interesting decision- Paul Hartley is worth a go if some of our fans can forget his playing days. Doing a decent job in D1 with Alloa. Iain Murray again turned around Dumbarton last year. Craig Levein. Yes Scotland was a disaster, not right for international football and he made a mess with 4-6-0 and grind out results. Still a good club manager if willing to take a job at our level and giving he went from Leicester to Raith... Billy Reid. Worse than keeping Lennon. Lucky timing at Hamilton and notice nobody has gone near him since. Kenny Shiels. Unsure, managed a decline from Mixu, but kept things going alright at Killie although his interviews and touchline manner are weird. Sure there will be more.
  19. Aye cause they realised he doesn't have enough quality for regular top flight football. Oh well he'll be great next year in D1.
  20. Harsh IMV. Cornell hasn't done much wrong recently and now we expect the defence to get used to a different keeper
  21. 3 from 3 and no tries conceded after 240 minutes of rugby. 9 home wins in a row too. Pretty good team and they are still not full strength missing DTH, Weir, Maitland, Matawalu, Kellock from last night. Hope they keep it up! Not to mention Zebre got their first win away to Cardiff and Triviso beat Munster. Strange times!
  22. This was one of my favourites too. Played off the park after having to face Motherwell on a Thursday night before went a goal down with 8 minutes to go. Really went for it and Dorman got us level from a Cuthbert knock down. I remember the announcer at Tynecastle not even pausing between announcing the added time and the scorer!
  23. They just don't trust Hibs and Fenlon enough. Can't see us getting anything here, even though their 1 man has gone. 2-0 Hibs.
  24. Sadly one of the problems is it's success and the limited space. There is nowhere bigger in Paisley suitable and Friday night is just very popular. No chance of getting in without queuing on a Friday evening sadly, even Thursday night was rammed.
