  1. Couldn't ask for more from the lads. They looked absolutely shattered and were still full of running late on. Did everything but put the ball in the net.
  2. Must be going toe to toe with Dunfermline. Straight up 4-4-2.
  3. Need to get the heads up and maybe freshen it up a bit. Lads like Morgan, Smith and Magennis who put so much into a game must be shattered. Time to start utilising the likes of Loy, Todd, Storie and Fjelde.
  4. 800 saints fans. Incredible. Subjected to pish.
  5. Sorry mate. I'm just not buying this "shambles of a squad" nonsense. JR inherited a squad that should be nowhere near the bottom of the league and had most people on here guaranteeing us a playoff spot. It took a massive squad turnover to get us going. Appreciate the explanation though. [emoji106]
  6. Why idiotic opinions? I was one who was worried. Performances mean nothing if you're getting beat, which we were. I'm delighted that Jacks turned it around but still doesn't hide the fact that it took an unprecedented January window to get us here. 2 wins in 5 months was a poor record to have. I don't think it makes someone an idiot for being disheartened with JR at the time. We still have a long way to go.
  7. Why are people idiots for having a difference in opinion?
  8. Scottish Football should pack up and go home. Utterly embarrassing state of affairs where an already midweek game can't be rescheduled to allow an even playing field in a professional game of football. f**k me!
  9. There's been a crash just at the Racecourse causing a bit of traffic.
  10. St Mirren: O'Brien, Stelios, MacKenzie, Davis, Eckersley, Magennis, McGinn, Mallan, Smith, Morgan, Sutton Subs: Langfield, Irvine, Baird, Loy, Storie, Todd, Fjelde
  11. McGinn was a class act today. Never lost the ball once, got stuck in and an absolute screamer to boot. What an injustice it would've been if he had been on the losing side. Tough one on Loy. Sitting a bit deeper than usual and looking the most disinterested I've ever seen a player but yet still pops up with a goal out of nothing. I'd take goals over hard work any day of the week.
  12. St Mirren starting XI - O'Brien, Stelios, Davis, MacKenzie, Eckersley, Storie, Magennis, McGinn, Mallan, Smith, Loy
  13. What shocks and saddens me is how content people are with relegation. Really quite depressing. Relegation to league 1 should be unacceptable for a team like St. Mirren. Wonder if Gilmour and Rae will still be to blame come the end of the season.
  14. Rae also accumulated 2 wins from his first 2 games with Ian Murray's team. No January window. JR has 2 wins in 5 months.
  15. 1 point of the playoffs with an amateur team?
  16. If you didn't mention him, I was gonna anyway. That's who I would go for. Wasn't in favour of him coming back when we let Rae go but I am now and would go for him IF we go down. Why wouldn't he come back? Does he not want back into full time football. I wish nothing but success for Jack whilst he's at the club but it's becoming increasingly obvious that he's out his depth.
  17. Depends on whether you think we're too far gone? If you think we have a chance I would really be putting the feelers out for Gus over the next two weeks. Ayr really is our last throw of the dice. Would he come? No idea. I'm not buying this blame Rae nonsense anymore. Rae came into the team at a later date than Ross had an impact right away with a worse team than Ross had (People seem to forgot the woeful team Ian Murray left behind) and Rae also had a lot less to work with in January in terms of funds and those signings got us over the line.
  18. Remember when Queen of the South were catchable? Nice to see their new appointment starting to get results. His January signings having instant impacts. Who'd have thought it? I like how some people are happy to stick with JR through relegation even though there is absolutely zero evidence to prove his worth. Some people need to wake up.
  19. Dumbarton' second is an absolute horror show. Confused as to why Eckersley is marking Nade at corners instead of Mackenzie. You'd think JR would identify their most dangerous aerial threat and put your best defender on him. Punished for it.
  20. You accept relegation but you don't accept that Jack Ross has been a catastrophe for this club? A man that has 2 league wins since October shouldn't be made culpable for sending us down to the lowest point in our history? ETA I still haven't accepted relegation. I never will.
  21. St Mirren: O'Brien, Irvine, MacKenzie, Davis, Eckersley, Magennis, McGinn, Storie, Smith, Morgan, Clarkson St Mirren Subs: Langfield, Demetriou, Webster, Baird, Todd, Fjelde, Sutton Loy misses out through illness.
  22. I'd be more worried about the fact the board accepted an offer that was below their own valuation for Stevie. Glad Stevie is still with us. He might've had a disappointing season but he's certainly capable of conjuring some magic that could grab us some points in the run in.
  23. Good to get a bit more experience into the team. Especially in a position were we've lacked numbers. As with every player that's arrived in January he needs to hit the ground running. No honeymoon here.
