  1. He sometimes has a good game The next ones often shite It disnae really matter as His auld man sees him right!
  2. I know where you are coming from... but bottom line... Through work and other commitments I have missed so many games in the last few seasons that I would have saved money on a pay as you go basis. That bothers me not one iota. I just don't get the green eyed "boot in the baws" attitude at all In any incentive, some will gain more than others. Why not just be happy for those wjo benefit and instead of moaning, use that wasted energy to campaign for other benefits for all?
  3. This is to football chants what individual processed slices are to cheese!
  4. I just came! How long have you been writing porn?
  5. Now that I totally agree with. That said, one guarantee... WHATEVER they try, someone will find fault. Off topic? Naaaah... Thistle and Saints are pioneering a great scheme this Friday to benefit real Saints fans... sounds relevant to me!
  6. I understand that Drew... I just wonder if this is one of the few ways the club can indeed give something back to ST holders as it is well neigh impossible to give them a financial benefit at home matches. As I said, I have no idea who is funding the scheme. I also agree that £22 is excessive... but it is comparably excessive. £5 for under 18's is commendable though. I have been to two games at Firhill thos season as a neutral because we both got on for £20. Would be silly for me not to go to see my own team when we can both get in for £20. For me, that is closer to fair pricing I'd like to see across tbe board.
  7. ST sales are vital to the club to inject cash at a crucial point in the financial year. Non ST holders attending throughout the season are equally vital in maintaining the cash flow and keeping the club afloat. Neither is more important than the other, and both are crucial to the clubs survival. That said, I genuinely fail to see how any incentive could be equally applied across the board. That is why I have been grateful for any bonus I have received and equally supportive of any and every effort to benefit others and increase attendance.
  8. So if it is near the end of the season and non season ticket holders are given a tenner off admission, which I would be delighted with if it increased attendance, how do you suggest that benefit is made available to all? Genuine question.
  9. Each to their own Drew. In general £22 is too expensive for a football match... but it is only £2 more than we charge... and less than Accies, Killie, ICT, Dons and probably most others. Non ST holders WILL get incentives between now and the end of the season. They do EVERY season. That is right and I support it. To grudge ST holders a wee discount is petty IMO. We don't look for it or ask for it. I reckon it has the potential to be a cracking match in a great atmosphere.
  10. Totally agree and have said as much for years. Max prices for any match should be £15 for adults and £5 for 18 and unders plus concessions.
  11. This might well be one of the very few ways the club can give something back to ST holders for their support. Between now and the end of the season, I will fully support every initiative to encourage increased attendance, even though I won't benefit personally. Not sure which club is subsidising this particular offer, but criticising it is petty and surly. Outragously unfair is expecting a tip for simply doing your job... not an initiative to try and encourage support!!!
  12. Really looking forward to this one. We could really learn a lesson from Thistle about ticketing incentives. Don't get me wrong, I reckon we're second best in the SPL for standard pricing, but Thistle do it best.
  13. I think that happened to someone who sits next to me too!
  14. Stewards have had a bad rap over the last couple of years... much merited... but I want to praise them for recent actions. There seems to be a new air of tollerence and helpfulness. Elderly gent next to me was struggling on the stairs last two matches. Without being asked, a steward rushed over and helped him up to his seat.. . Postmatch, she rushed back to make sure he got back down the stairs safely. On Saturday I had a carrier bag with hat scarf and gloves... I instingtively opened it to show the steward, who promptly replied "it's alright, I trust you. In you go"! Changed days.... but much appreciated.
  15. And yet a Saints fan on the radio phone in criticising refs actually used the example of booking players in the first minute and effectively "making a rod for their own back". We can't have it both ways.
  16. Only sub i disagree with was Kelly... should have been a straight swap.... Ozzy for McGinn. Also thought Ball should have come on after the red card. That said, I thought McLear for Orbourne was wrong vs Utd and it turned the game in our favour, saving us a point.
  17. Drew... consign that talk to Darkhead and Ibrokes please. Today... worst case scenario... Offside goal and missed penalty Vs... FOUR clear headers, not one of which were on target. Add in other missed chances and we were still masters of our own destiny.
  18. a point to ponder... the role of the Captain. As Arquin was shown the red card, it was obvious that McLean was about to explode and say something. In my opinion, a Captain playing a leaders role would have anticipated that and been straight in there to pull McLean away. At one point it almost looked as if Goodwin was about to before remembering his place... McAusland just stayed out of it...result... McLean picking up an avoidable booking! NOT having a go at Cheesey for the sake of it... not having a go at his defending persay... but he is NOT a leader of men and is not an inspirational Captain. In this case, he shat it!
  19. Felt ot was a blatant and poor dive at the time. Not changed my opinion. I hope tv proves me wrong.
  20. Why Arquin felt the need to go down I will never know... but it happened in front of me and I could see no contact at all that would cause that fall. Even if it was a slip it wouldn't have been so theatrical. My take is that he was cheating to seek an advantage when it would have been easier to try and beat the man. Poorest game from McGinn for a long time. Did he miss Osborne? A straight swap at half time, if Ozzy was fit enough, was the obvious change. It would have left Mallan in an area where he was dominating. Their goal was off side... but had we got even half our 4 clear headers on target then we would still have won that match. Bad day at the office... time to move on and beat Thistle. Naismith will have to be on his toes as they will target long diagonals on his side as our weakness... and rightly so.
  21. Not a great game and McGinn really struggling to have any positive impact. Brilliant goal, nicely set up by Mallandona and top drawer finish by McLean. Ridgers has had a couple of fantastic saves to keep the score at 1-0.
