  1. I would find it hard to describe the works undertaken to re-open the high street as anything other than negligent. And that isn't a word that should be used lightly. The finished "scheme" is nothing short of shambolic. Everyone and anyone involved in it should embarrassed and ashamed. Not only is the delineation between pavement and road almost non-existent and the signage inadequate, but they've actually left granite plinths in the middle of the fecking carriageway.
  2. Paddy's being turned into one of these jakey karioke pubs is more depressing than the place being shut.
  3. JD trying their best to copy Mike Ashley's manky model of selling cheap crap (only it isn't cheap).
  4. That red strip looks horrendous. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the design, but I think a lot of that comes down the quality with which the design intent has been executed. Everything about the strip is rotten. The quality is without doubt the worst I've ever seen. You could buy better quality fakes. I don't take exception to the fans' council's design but I take excpetion to them posting that picture as if it is some kind of success. When they met with JD to view that prototype did no one turn round and say "what the fcuk is that shitte?" If the fans' council are happy with that then there's a fundamental problem with the oragnisation itself. All in all it is on a par with last seasson's yellow strip.
  5. One of those samples got flung over Chris Froome. Don't think your window box would appreciate.
  6. Shite idea, any areas under trees or areas which don't have heavy traffic will end up covered in growth. Hard work to keep this stuff looking good in the long run.
  7. The club should take down (or cover with celtic) all JD adverts around the stadium and on the website they get their arse (or ne4ck even) in gear.
  8. Re-opening the street to cars in its current form is utterly ridiculous. 2 previous attempts have failed, the public in general are not on board, yet the council bow to the wisdom of a few pound shop retailers. Half arsed scheme that should never have got off the ground.
  9. Too late for "a step in the right direction" given that the scheme has already been launched and places filled, not to mention another 10 steps would be required before getting to anything remotely sensible, The already changing goalposts after only 3 days suggests that Davidg was correct, the whole thing was half baked. Doomed to fail. This scheme needs put out its missery, or a full body transplant.
  10. It's green. With horizontal stripes. And there's a 4 leaf clover embroidered on the back of the collar.
  11. That, or maybe some people are just more pragmatic than others.
  12. Every day is the 12th July up there if you believe some folk on here
  13. That can be true, but even then it is risk free to the client. Sometimes paying a premium is wirthwhile to offset risk.
  14. The £48K estimate suggests the Ritz this ain't gonna be. Doesn't filll me with confidence. I certainly couldn't do anything of any quality for that price.
  15. Can you copy & paste where it says the fitout cost will be £48K? Not that I don't believe you but I can't access the site on my phone.
  16. Exactly. Outsourcing works because it allows those with experience and expertise to provide a service much more efficientlty than could be done internally (and even allowing for their profit uplift can be done cheaper and with less risk). Outsourcing is especially good for an oragnisation with limited management staff (such as SMFC). There are many painshare/gainshare arangements than can be implemented to reward performance or cap profit.
  17. Like I said, all abou the risk/reward profile. I don't have any issue at all with those who take the risk making a good profit.
  18. Provided the risk/reward profile was appropriate I'd be delighted if Kibble were back in the frame. Firstly, It's what community clubs do and secondly, Kibble have a track record in making a success of projects. Just look at their recent Hillington venture (Tourist Board 5 star):
  19. Boom. This. The continued posting of application numbers by the FC suggests they see getting to 3 hunderd as being an achievment. Beyond that little seems to matter. This doesn't appear to be an inclusive venture. Sadly, the model doesn't appear to have been robustly developed before being launched. THe attitudes on display from FC representitives shows why fan ownership is NOT the way forward.
  20. The only circumstance an artificial pitch would be a benefit would be if we closed down Ralston and deflated the dome. And that would be a step backwards. A big step.
  21. Rewarded by reffing the Motherwell game on Sunday.
  22. Linesman looks fairly well up to play, but still looks offside to me. Best benchmark we can get: (Granted the screenshot is a fraction of a second late)
  23. At the penalty (which is what you were discussing): What did he do wrong? Where was the rule breach?
