  1. So Tesco paid £x million for Love Street, and Love Street had to be demolished, the new ground had to be built, a training complex was partly funded from that deal and most of the debts to banks etc were wiped out. If you've already done the simples part and asked the board how much they pocketed from the deal why not fill us all in.
  2. Please provide evidence for how much the board supposedly pocketed from the sale of Love Street, or are you just spouting more rubbish? RA has already explained why the company was set up with himself and the selling consortium and he did it publicly at a CIC meeting. And RA also said that if / when / once the CIC did go through he would explain what caused the hold up, and that he was in fact dying to tell us about it at the meeting but couldn't. Anyone who has been to any of the CIC meetings will vouch for RA being pretty open with the fans and willing to answer questions rather than how you portra him in your posts.
  3. Away strip shorts? The ones available here for ages? http://www.jdsports.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CatalogSearchResultView?storeId=10151&catalogId=10551&langId=-1&mfpartNumber=&freeText=st+mirren#back
  4. Hoping we play well and jump up to 5th today

Imagine 5th at this stage of the season, I'd get a nose bleed.

  5. am sure bluto would have posted something different in response had you asked about the CIC's demise
  6. Pleased we bagged 3 points today and closed the gap on a few teams sitting just above us

  7. And within 48 hours of announcing anyone at r*ngers who gives an interview to the BBC or even an off-the-record quote will no longer be an employee at Ibrox, Craig Whyte gives an interview to Tom English, sidekick to Jim Traynor on BBC Scotland's "Your Call" programme. Priceless!

  9. Ayr United and Morton will bring almost as many fans to Greenhill Road as the OF do these days!
  10. That must be them with about £2m ring-fenced / frozen by different court cases now.
  11. Your post seems to assume I would give the other directors a bad report card when I wouldn't... I would be interested to see glen's report on the failed bids by other directors when he has such a go at RA's business acumen over the CIC effort and comes up with his objective rating of -186 out of 120 when 'his' bid has met the asking price and seems close to having the cash raised too.
  12. Would glen like to do report cards on Gilmour, GLS, and Ken McGeouch and the mystery 3rd bidder?
  13. Is not at least slightly ironic that the people moaning the CIC hasn't happened yet are the ones who either are against it or have reservations about whether it is best for the club: I'm protesting / complaining that the thing I don't like hasn't happened yet!
  14. The Sunday Times reported over a week ago that McGeoch had made an offer to buy the club and his first offer had been rejected and his partner said they would consider making a second offer but did not want to get drawn into a bidding war. I'm guessing that McGeoch's first offer was for under £2m?
  15. Stuart Gilmour advocated a 14 team SPL and didn't get his way either... did he achieve nothing because the 14 team SPl didn't go through last year or was avoiding a 10 team SPL a qualified success?
  16. I took issue with you saying the guy had 'done nothing' when he has been the most high profile member of the BoD during his first year involved with the club. We'll obviously have to agree to disagree whether convincing 500 fans so far to pay £10 per month for 10 years = nothing important, or being the only person fronting a bid to be accepted by the selling consortium = nothing, or whether the work that has gone into getting the CIC to the stage it is at at the moment = nothing.
  17. ... because you asked what he had done in a year on the board If you hadn't of implied he'd done nothing I wouldn't have posted.
  18. OK so now the stuff that RA is known to have done for the club in the last 12 months doesn't count much.
  19. Only making the point that RA has had a hand in most of the positive off the field developments from the past 12 months, which is surely relevant when glen asks anyone on the forum to name anything positive RA has done in the last 12 months.
  20. I forgot to include RA liaising with Ayr United about the pricing for last season's cup game and his friends at Ayr Racecourse for the pre-match entertainment which proved popular, and he has worked on plans to have a supporters bar at St Mirren Park after listening to St Mirren fans saying they want one, and that's all on top of whatever meetings he has had with supporters, community groups, corporate members about the CIC and meetings with the funding bodies. Not a bad haul for a new director at the club.
  21. What has Richard Atkinson done for the club in the past year? Some stuff off the top of my head... listened to complaints from St Mirren fans about the new ground looking soulless and grey and had murals featuring ex-players installed in the concourses under stands and brightened up the stands with the sponsors logos being added... presumably negotiated the deal with JD Sports / Carbrini which has seen us with our best home and away strips in years with a pretty cool 3rd strip to follow, a deal which will earn more for the club than the previous one with Hummel (which fans didn't like much). Richard Atkinson has also helped bring a number of companies to St Mirren Park for conferences bringing more money into the club, and has already secured most of the funding for the £2m buyout of the majority shareholding and has over 800 fans pledged to be part of the CIC and already has over 500 direct debit forms back. Also when the club had a cash flow issue when it was waiting on TV money coming through from the SPL (or was it a tax rebate getting paid back to the club) it is well documented that RA arranged for the Maxi Group to loan the club the money they were waiting on. What has Glen done for the club in the past 12 months to improve our lot?
  22. I think if the date had been suitable then there would have been further discussion about the terms of a booking for a 21st in the current corporate suite, as RA sought some assurances at the start of the discussion about the type of 21st it was going to be. I'm sure if people contact RA about functions they'll find the club are open to hosting them and quite quick at responding.
  23. For the record regarding the first post - the date when my friends were looking for a venue was 5th November, when we are at home to Hearts. RA checked out whether it was feasible to take a booking for a 21st party after hospitality was over and we concluded there would not be enough time to get the room ready (I think hospitality was looking like it was going to be busier than usual for the Hearts game). RA offered us an alternative date and was also open to the room being partitioned to suit the size of the booking. In the end my friends found a venue which was able to accommodate them on 5th November. Also, for the record, RA on behalf of St Mirren was a lot quicker to reply and was a lot more helpful than a lot of other venues in Renfrewshire: hotels, sports clubs, village halls etc that were contacted about this party. I would definitely look at booking facilities at St Mirren Park in future based on my dealings with RA on this occasion.
  24. what makes you think the people in my OP are schemies?
  25. I don't think many CIC pledgers have got involved because of any benefits which may come their way as a result of being involved with the CIC - eg having a members' bar swung it and made them decide to invest. For me, if the club had raised another share issue to raise money to invest in the club I wouldn't have had much spare cash upfront to buy many shares. I am quite happy however to sign up to pay £10 per month for the next 10 years (at least) to help the CIC takeover the majority shareholding so that the local community (or those interested in St Mirren from the Renfrewshire area and beyond) can have a major say in how the club is run, and I also think the CIC will in time create a strong network of people and groups in Renfrewshire who will bring people through the doors of St Mirren Park 7 days a week and in time strengthen and increase our fanbase in the area and that as that happens our revenue will increase and allow for a larger playing budget than we currently have.
