  1. i went down to the ticket office to renew our STs. Easy as pie and no need for proof of age. And they had no issue with my grandson's new name as he had changed it by deed poll. Fantastic service.
  2. Absolutely sickening and absolute thuggery.
  3. Nonsense. I have looked. Before I had put you on ignore You are the biggest culprit of trying to belittle people when they show you up. I at least, am able to admit to either getting things wrong and at times, yes, to posting things that I have, in hindsight, registered that I may have seemed a bit "foolish". That could NEVER be laid at your door. As I said. You are able, at times, to bring some positive contribution but your inherent need to feel superior, your constant refusal to admit you could be wrong and your incessant need to use emojis in an attempt to ridicule detracts from all of that. It's a shame really. ETA. This will be my last interaction with you on the subject as I know you will definitely need the last word so, fill your boots. It doesn't make it less true. On the contrary.
  4. Ryanair travel chaos as passengers left stranded with airline 'completely silent' Not only Ryanair and sorry if this is long winded. I have just returned from Rhodes from a Jet2 holiday and they were just as bad. No. EVEN WORSE. We were due to leave on Friday night and, when the delay and diversions started our flight was diverted to Dalaman. We were told nothing by their reps and had to confront them directly to get any word on what was happening. The plane eventually arrived and, after and hour, by this time it was after 01:00, we were sent through the gate, only to be turned back with no explanation. It transpired that some of the passengers had been taken for a ride, both literally and figuratively, around the tarmac, passing the plane three times with the pilot waving them away. Still no information. Then, after another hour or so, we were told that the flight had been cancelled and Jet 2 had arranged for hotel rooms and transport and were instructed to go back through customs and collect our belongings. After doing so we went out expecting to simply get on a bus and have an extra night in a Rhodes bus. To our dismay and disgust, only around half of the passengers from three affected flights had been given accommodation. The rest of us were stranded with no way of even getting food or drink. Still no real explanation. It was another three hours before Jet2 reps brought some water to dish out. Even then the reps were not imparting information. Through sheer frustration and growing tiredness I, and others, confronted the reps, They were now claiming they had tried everything and could find no more rooms for the night. This was in contrast to our own search on bookings.com which showed at least one hundred hotels that could take bookings for a one night stay. When we pointed this out they said their agents couldn't use those as they were not associated with the company and would need permission from the hierarchy to do so. I requested they get this by fair means or foul, but this fell on deaf ears. At this juncture sleeping bodies were all over the Airports departure area. And they were the lucky ones as many of us either couldn't find a suitable place or just couldn't sleep under these conditions. I, and my good wife, were in the latter bracket.. In desperation we asked if they could at least find an area, either in the airport or out with, where we could at least find a more dignified resting area. Still no explanation as to why the flight couldn't take off as it had obviously managed to land OR why they couldn't get hold of someone to make a decision on hotels. And still no nourishment of any kind offered. ( I later was informed it was because the pilot was nearing the maximum flight time. Something Jet2 MUST have known about the night before so could have either organized a replacement pilot in Dalaman or, if this wasn't possible, started the process of decanting us at around the 23:00 mark). The Jet2 reps played the "separate parts of the business" with them looking after the holiday and the "other part" looking after the flights. This went on well into the night. We were then told, but only if we asked, that an SMS would be sent at 07:00 informing us of when our flight would actually be taking off eventually, After much cajoling, at around 11:00am, a mere 13 hours or more after our allotted flight time, we were told they had found a hotel where they could send us and where we "relax" and could use their facilities to get some food and could wait until our flight was due. BIG FN DEAL!! They also said that everyone would get a voucher for food at the airport. This turned out to be 20 euros. Once again. BIG FN DEAL. We are talking about over 100 people here. It turned out that we were limited in what we could use at the hotel. Even some of the food was supposed to be off the menu. I personally refused to accept this and, to their credit, the hotel staff took it upon themselves to ignore the limitations. The hotel also originally tried to charge us personally 100 euros if we wanted to use a room to shower. Again. I pushed and the relented. All this with NO Jet2 rep on site to assist. When a rep did arrive it was to escort us onto buses. to take us back to the airport for the flight we now knew, via SMS, was due to be departing at 17:45. By the time we were through security most of the affected passengers didn't have time to even use the relatively measly sum Jet2 had given them via their boarding pass as, by the time they went through security, there just wasn't time. All in all. A horrendous experience and, to top it all, Jet2 sent an email claiming the delay was entirely to to the high wind when, while it started the debacle, it was obviously not as the plane did eventually land with the wind subsiding, then the captain of the flight claiming the cancellation was Rhodes airports fault by shutting down the airport even though some Ryanair planes DID manage to take off. Oh. And Ryanair actually started decanting their stranded passengers BEFORE Jet2. All in all. A horrendous experience due to, as far as I'm concerned a penny pinching exercise. Rant over!
  5. I don't know who started the trail of counter abuse here but I actually just recently removed the ignore function to see if their had been improvement but, unfortunately, it seems little had changed. I try not to interact because of his childish, incessant need to always be right and, if it looks like he's being outdone and close to being proven wrong, he goes on and resorts to abuse and attempts at belittling those that have dared not to stand by and allow him to hold court and show how much he thinks he knows about everything. He comes across as a mini Trump character. Or perhaps, depending on his age, Trump is a mini Faraway. (No emojis)
  6. I agree they have a very strong squad but I don't think we have the weak underbelly the dons have. I hope I'm not proven wrong. No matter what though we have been magnificent in taking this to the very last game.
  7. You may well have a point there. He does occasionally bring some good points but separating the wheat from the chaff is so often laborious.
  8. Congratulations to Gleniffer Thistle 2009s winning their league again with a thumping 4-0 win v St Anthony's last night. Remarkably this team have won their 4 league titles since they went into the league setups. I don't know for certain if this has ever been achieved at various age groups before but I suspect not.
  9. I agree it's unlikely but Saints have proven to be resilient and, as I said in the Hibs thread, Celtic will probably field a "weakened" side with the cup final looming, so we can but live in hope of being the proverbial party poppers.
  10. Haven't seen the highlights but the fact this group of players came back from the brink doesn't surprise me in the least. Not quite the result we wanted but they've done us proud. It's in the stars. Made top six in the last game prior to the split. Now we get to make fifth and spoil a party in the last game post split. I would suspect Celtic will start with a team filled with fringe players. Though that will still be formidable we could have a chance. My concern is, even if we manage a complete avoidance of defeat in the top six fixtures the two poor form teams are up against each other so god only knows how that could pan out.
  11. If someone had said we'd win 2 and draw one in the top six league I would have doubted their sanity. More than that. I think we deserved more from the first one. The character this group of players have shown speaks volumes of the ability of our coaching and scouting staff. At this moment in time I wouldn't count them out against any opposition. Hope you all enjoy the game, the result and the celebrations. Missing this one too. Serves me right for not trusting in Robbo.
  12. Fantastic result. I predicted the score more in hope but it seems I should have been underestimating the numbers. Third game after the split and undefeated. What a team. What a coaching staff. The European dream lives on.It appears the lucky one booked the trip to Dundee and not Rhodes like me. I will again be watching from afar to see if the lads can complete the job,..... almost, on Wednesday. COYS!!!!!
  13. Sunning in Rhodes so won't make this one. Goodie's guys 0-2 Good guys
  14. Worse than that Shull. They sold Brockville and got the new stadium for nowt. Some fans are still wondering what happened to the 11? million.
  15. The perfect day. Watched my grandson's team, Gleniffer, outplay Knightswood in the under 16's with 10 men, (6-0), to go 2 points clear with a game to go. (They looked dead and buried just a few games ago), then watched Saints keep their hopes of Europe alive with a tremendous, deserved win v the dons. Possibly should have been a bit more comfy at the end but we are still in the hunt.
  16. Fantastic news. Having a very good number 1 actually signed and not rushing around finding a loanee will be a big boost. BUT. What does this mean for young Urminsky? He's now around the 26 mark and is still the proverbial best man, never the groom.
  17. I know his team are likely to win the treble but, REALLY??? Rodgers, Gray & McGlynn shortlisted for manager of the year - BBC Sport Gray and McGlynn. Yes. But with a massive budget does Rogers deserve to even be nominated? I'd question his abilities if he didn't manage to get close to winning everything in Scotland.
  18. I didn't know that, obviously, but it is great news. He's a quality player with the heart of a lion.
  19. I know it's out of our hands but, if at all possible, I'd push the boat, the dinghy and the kitchen sink out to get Phillips to stay.
  20. Due to bad planning this will be my last home game of the season. Hopefully a winning finale and someone getting the use of our STs for the Hibs game. Also hoping, against hope, the game has meaning as far as league position is concerned. There is no reason to think a win is beyond us so, unusually, I will give a prediction. 2-1 Saints.
  21. Good luck to Toyosi. A great piece of business by Saints and a great opportunity for him. I have to say. It's not a place I would feel comfortable going to work with all the noises coming from over there with this strange administration but I'm sure it'll be different for a professional "soccer player".
  22. Rangers confirm takeover talks with US investors But is it the club or the company? 🤣🤣
  23. That would equate to a win in the zombies' eyes. I am not religious in any way but I still think the pope was an important part of many lives in this country so I say. We give a minutes applause and, if they disrupt it, the players in their team that are practicing catholics, (it looks like there are a few given the crossing when entering the field of play), will see what a disgusting, sectarian, dead club they have chosen to play for. Just for the cash.
  24. Went along with the Geniffer Thistle under 16s to the Netherlands for the Holland cup. Unfortunately, a bad cold had me under the weather all through the trip. The weather was great throughout. The lads did really well to get to the final before finally losing to a team from Newcastle. A team they had already triumphed over with relative ease in the earlier rounds. Such a disappointment, but a big well done to all who participated. On the plus side. The parents knew how to enjoy the surroundings and were great company
