Andy Millen must have been about 65 when he stopped playing, so if he’s looked after himself then I don’t see a problem with a two year contract. I guess for the likes of Broadfoot though I wouldn’t be expecting him to be making lung bursting runs from box to box, so in his position I don’t believe the same energy levels are required. I’d expect him to be more clearing the lines or passing the ball on to one of our many creative midfielders. Good signing if it happens. Should give us plenty options in that role.

The strikers need good service, they’re not getting it. You could see the frustration with Obika when Andreu hit one past the post when if he’d left it, Obika would have burst the net. Just about every cross from the right missed everyone in the box. Give the strikers the service then we can judge them.

At a time where sectarianism has been highlighted again in Scottish football, is it any wonder when sectarian marches are allowed on the streets of Scotland. It may be said that the “Irish Unity” march wasn’t sectarian, but the authorities must have known this was a potential powder keg. What that march has to do with Scotland I’ve no idea. It’s time all of these marches are banned in Scotland, Irish loyalist (Orange Order, Apprentice Boys) and republican equivalents. They have no place in today’s society IMO.

After a couple of days of reading this playground piffle paffle, I’d actually forgotten the topic was about Vaclav Hladky.

My take on this from what Ricky posted. As a new striker (a position in the team employed to score goals for St Mirren) it’s always good to get your first goal as soon as possible. This gives the lad and the support confidence in his abilities. I would be more than happy to see both our new strikers score this weekend, however I’d gladly take (and I’m sure Ricky would agree) any of the Saints players scoring if we get 3 points. That’s the way I read it for what it’s worth.

If he extends his contract, I believe he’d leave with the “blessing of the club” If he has another good season with us and avoids injury, then it’s a win win situation for the club and the player if he extends.

Jason Scotland was interested in that role. I contacted the club on his behalf as an introduction to let them know of his interest. However, this was before Kearney departed (late June) so nothing ever came of it. In fact, the club never even got back to him.

Can see this gettin belted oot if he scores on Sunday.

Not saying it was true chap, just what I heard. Good goal scoring record in his time in Scotland but Gerrard must have had his reasons for dumping him after one season.

I’d heard a story that Lafferty had a big fallout with Steven Gerrard due to the name of Gerrard’s daughter (Lourdes) The comment allegedly from Lafferty that it was a “F****n” name and Gerrard was rightly fuming. If that was indeed the case I wouldn’t want him anywhere near our club. Note. When I typed the full word and hit save, it came up as “******” I’m guessing the use of that word is not acceptable on BAWA.
