  1. Only if "they" won the General Election which at the point of announcement was far from certain!!
  2. Well that's Johnson shat it........TC will be gutted!
  3. Your original claim was that there was more than 30 recorded incidents per day, surely the proof will be in the fact that they are recorded..............go on, accept/admit that you were incorrect
  4. Sorry Stuart, I didn't quote you correctly.......you actually said more than 30 a day!! I've admitted my mistake, can you admit yours or can you back up your "more than 30 a day" accusation?
  5. Are you seriously suggesting that there are more than 30 recorded racist incidents against "white settlers" in the Highlands and Islands, I can't wait to see your source for this!! In Argyll and Bute there was a 59% vote in favour of remaining in the UK (probably one of the highest returns of "No" in the referendum). I am originally from the Islands and although I wouldn't say I'd never heard anything untoward it is certainly nothing compared to the blatant racism I heard when I lived down south.
  6. Clarkson will probably play as more of a No. 10 rather than as an out and out striker, I think for it to work we would need some pace from midfield otherwise we'll be quite slow up front.
  7. I haven't really put forward my opinion FS just saying that I know people for whom the thought of being out of the EU made them pitch for "no" in the independence vote. If you look at percentage difference between UK and EU refs then the 45/55 "no's" in the UK ref flips to 62/38 "remain". I'm not for a second suggesting that everyone who voted "remain" would now vote for "yes" but it certainly suggests that the threat of non-membership of the EU was a potential vote swayer.
  8. I know of "non-nationalists" who didn't vote for independence over the threat of not being part of the EU, the "nationalists" voted for independence irrespective of the EU vote
  9. Not really going into the ins and outs of the in/out but by your reckoning over 3.2 million didn't vote to leave or roughly 75% of the electorate didn't vote to leave, hardly a compelling argument!!
  10. One thing for certain is that if you don't reach for the top you'll never get there!!
  11. For the first time ever I'll miss the opening game of the "league" season because I'm on holiday (don't get back until the early hours of the 7th)...........here's hoping St Mirren TV is working and available in Orlando!!!
  12. Maybe some of the adults have more than one gun!!
  13. Is that not with a "credit agreement" agreed with a lender and not St Mirren...........if it is then St Mirren still receive the cash up front.
  14. Which is a fair point but if we take Irvine from left back and make him right back then we're back to looking for a full-back, as Irvine can't play both sides at the same time. If Irvine is to be right back then we need a left back. All reliant on Naismith going to centre-half of course.
  15. I think more likely need a right-back than a left-back if we were still strengthening at the back. If required Naismith will go to right centre-half which in time will probably be his natural position and we could do with some cover for right back although Irvine can probably play either side.
  16. You're kind of making my point for me Gaz...............it's better to say nothing about what someone else might think. To quote you "Problem for Tony at the moment is that he most likely supports our bid but since he is an employee of the club and the current BOD he will not be able to support it publicly" leaves it to interpretation and there are people who will state it as fact and use it mischievously. I'm honestly trying to help not criticise.
  17. Although not pacey Sutton always took up good positions and made lots of intelligent runs, Clarkson is probably a better footballer and will drop off as a number 10............with a good passer (Mallan) and some pace a bit wider (Gallgher, Morgan, McAllister, McLear and whoever else) we could be quite exciting moving forward.
  18. Gaz, I'm honestly not trying to pick a fight or be difficult but your reply now implies that he'll likely support the bid "as he's a St Mirren employee" and in turn that suggests that all St Mirren employees will be backing the bid which probably isn't the case. Don't get me wrong, I'm all pledged up, but disinformation (no matter how well intentioned) can be misinterpreted or misplaced and can either cause damage or be used inappropriately as fact.
  19. The problem with people speaking for other people is that what someone may assume becomes fact in others minds................you are correct however in the fact it may be difficult for him to give his true opinion on the buy-out "either way" for a whole number of reasons
  20. I'm not quite sure what that means but hey-ho.............. Your statement that I replied to (the bit in bold), with absolutely no malice, was : oaksoft, on 16 May 2016 - 16:19, said: A simple question, do you accept that what you stated isn't factually correct?
  21. Which of course isn't what you said!!
  22. Although I agree with your sentiment Scots isn't really an abbreviation, Robert the Bruce (and all other Scottish monarchs) was "King of Scots" ie of the people rather than the land. He was however a Scottish King.
  23. Did the clearances not happen then??
  24. Apparently the bus was 100 yards behind the West Ham team bus..............100 yards in four hours is pretty slow traffic, even by London standards!!
