  1. ICT and Terry Butcher were a perfect match. Lets see how they get on once Yogi has to rebuild this summer. Some fans already want him sacked. The grass isn't always greener.
  2. Newton's reaction to the goal is pretty good as well. You see it on the replay from the family stand.
  3. There is a couple of contradictions in this post... "The squad he assembled in the first half of the season was piss poor" and "The money he's spunked paying players off and even paying wages to guys who are now playing elsewhere" The guys he punted were to quote "piss poor", so yes criticise the signing of them, but how can you then criticise Danny for moving them on. Costing no more, and possibly less than it would have cost for them to sit on the bench or stand with us. IMO this is a trait of Danny with should be applauded, he isn't afraid to show under performers the door. Then..."he chose not to spend his budget" and " his January signings have helped get him out of trouble." Again, had he spent his entire budget in the summer would we have started as poorly? Possibly not. So a valid criticism. Then again, had that money been spent, and not been saved would we have been able make the January signings like Wylde and Magennis. Guys who have certainly had a positive effect on our season. So surely he deserves some recognition for keeping some money in reserve. Last summer was a shambles, said so at the time and still believe that it wasn't just down to the manager alone. Something seemed off with the club all summer. If we take enough points from the next two games to finish 7th, I think that the board are going to struggle to justify letting Danny walk from his contract. ANYWAY...great performance's today from Kelly, Goodwin and McLean. Excellent substitutions from the manager, and a screamer of a goal. Good day all things considered.
  4. Motherwell, Partick Thistle, Ross County, Kilmarnock and Hearts have all conceded more than we have according to the BBC.
  5. I like it. Prefer a collar on strips though.
  6. Yes and despite all of the above, we are still in the drivers seat to secure a possible 7th place finish. Ahead of managers such as Butcher, Adams and Johnston. Say we finish 7th or 8th...and do part ways with Lennon. Do you not concede that the club stands to look pretty foolish should we be in 11th or 12th position after the 1st round of fixtures with a new man at the helm.
  7. Well thats dependent on how successful his successor is. Play offs are still gonna be here next year. With a much greater list of potential opponents than this year.
  8. It's a strange one that. As surely tickets will already be on sale for the games advertised for 12.15.
  9. Yeah...must admit I thought it was pretty obvious we looked better with Magennis tonight.
  10. Your joking right! Magennis made a pretty positive impact when brought on.
  11. Got an extra ticket in the post this morning. So there is a spare going if anyone is looking for a ticket.
  12. All it needs is someone to roll up at 7.40, see there are no seats and go to a steward. He moves someone, who in turn asks a steward to move folk etc etc. It could be a riot.
  13. Was it not unallocated seating earlier in the season? Probably best just to go to the seat on the ticket if its a sell out. Save yourself a lot of hassle. Especially if there are a few hundred restricted view seats about,
  14. Problem is...if Danny leaves us in 7th, 8th or even 9th. He leaves with a very good looking CV. The next manager, who will no doubt be another lower league manager, has to build on that. History suggests that 1st year manager's tend to struggle. Even if he keeps us up, we will have the same situation as we did with Danny. Where folk were against him right from that 1st season.
  15. Sacrifice Thompson for Magennis early in the half. Hope his pace provides us with an out ball.
  16. Are we not going to have an issue since "buddie" (Luke I believe) played on Wednesday due to the late pull out...but will not get an invite this week as he is somewhere on the standby?
  17. Why would you want Thompson worrying about anything other than putting the ball in the back of the net? Why would you want Goodwin concerned with anything but his job? (which he did brilliantly yesterday) Do they consult each other on the pitch before making tactical decisions, substitutions etc? Or do they decide that one of them stays in the dugout and doesn't play? It is a quite ridiculous suggestion in my opinion, which could only harm their individual performances. What are the benefits?
  18. The reactions of Goodwin, and Thommo to going a goal and 2 goal's down were brilliant. Would have been very easy for the youngsters head to drop. Good to know that we have those types of guys in the team. I don't really think I can fault anyone after we went 2 down. Everyone was superb. Well done to Danny as well, made the subs, went for it, got rewarded for it.
  19. Season 2012/13 Gary Teale - Games Started 23 Used Sub 7 Assists 8 (Joint 6th in most assists all season) St Mirren scored 38 league goals in those games. So Teale assisted in over 20% of our goals. Then there is the cup run. Scored against Ayr Scored in the shootout at Aberdeen. Involved in the opener against Celtic Wins the penalty. Gives the ball to Cheesy to cross the third. Lifts us off the canvas in the final. Flatter's to deceive you say...
  20. It is frightening how much better we are with Gary Teale available. He actually runs at the defence, and creates chances that we can't replicate in his absence. Hopefully his return also sparks Thompson back into form, with some quality service. Gary Teale
