    Save Smisa

Maybe I'm being overly simplistic here, but surely it makes good financial sense for the club to "borrow" money from the SMISA kitty (which is sitting there) - rather than adjust budgets and inherit cashflow/budget problems? (avoiding eating into the wage budget during the season) If I'm reading this correctly - they simply borrowed the cash to fix the USH issue short term - with a promise to put the cash back into the SMISA kitty once money becomes available? I have no problem with this if so
  2. Won't close until the day of the Hibs game! Loads of time for entries
  3. As some of you know, I'm responsible for a Twitter page called @stmirrenactive. Been running a few seasons now, with the overall aim of promoting active, vocal support at games. We're currently running a poll, "St Mirren moment of the season". Can be anything from wheely bins, your favourite performance, a funny moment, or something sentimental. Will be putting every (reasonable) suggestion into a poll. Most popular moment, wins.

  5. The wee snooker club is class. Cheap bevy and friendly
  6. First time I've posted in one of these mad politics threads. Been having a think about this today and its coming down to ticking off who I absolutely won't vote for, then seeing who's left. Tories - will hoover up anyone who is pro-brexit, pro-union and many of those who see Corbyn as a pure joke, really strong position. They're an absolute cancer for the poor, but they don't pretend otherwise so got to give them that. However, what they're doing to disabled people is absolutely unforgiveable. No chance. Labour - don't seem to have an actual stance on anything, they've really messed up in Scotland so can't vote for them either. They abstained from voting against austerity, but still claim to be against it. Corbyn seems awright as a guy, but has no control over his party. Where's Andy Burnham now? Always liked that guy, did some fine work on Hillsborough. Probably wouldn't vote for them as it stands. Lib dems - actually in a decent position to hoover up some English votes, but they broke that pledge on student fees. Canny vote for a party that I don't trust to keep their word. Wish there was a decent liberal option. UKIP - their agenda is now pointless as a concept. Lost some of their main voices. All but finished, would never vote for them anyway, horrible party. SNP - reckon they were quite happy sitting with their huge majority of Scottish MP's, blaming the Tories for everything bad that happens. In reality, are they doing that well with the tools available? Need a wake up call, not untouchable Greens - maybe. Bit of a wasted vote, will vote for them if I can't see any alternative. Sometimes agree with Patrick Harvie, do believe that renewable energy is the way to go. Got all the natural resources in Scotland, need to use them as best we can without f**king up our planet
  7. At least it's skyview rather than skynet
  8. Happy to buy another one if we need to. But this one is our lucky drum! it's see through at each end so the chances of stashing bucky in it are slim to none..
  9. That "challenge" on Stelios would be more at home during Wrestlemania tonight, could dub wresting commentary over it absolute clothesline! You can see McGinn at the end telling him to get up and get on with it as well... Poor Stelios. Tbf the Morgan one was a fair challenge, just unfortunate that he got injured. Hope he makes a fast recovery.
  10. In fairness McGinn gave him a look as if to say "get the f**k up mate" when he stayed down. He wasn't injured, but certainly took a clatter
  11. Nope, we behaved! We were careful to avoid "antagonistic drumming".
  12. 100% home record with the drum in the stadium Good decision by the club to allow it...
  13. Not really. If anything, they might help. As part of a 10 year plan to fan ownership, adopting short term partners and sponsors seems logical
  14. Taking our drum hostage. Seems a bit overkill but we'll go with it! I guess there needs to be some sort of rules
  15. Some folk just can't handle the beat of the drum..
  16. We've got 2. The one we've used in recent games was a slightly bigger one
  17. Yeah we don't want anyone to move seats, just asking them to give us the unallocated bits of the west, and put away fans in the away stand for the last few home games this season when we need the crowd behind us. And let the drum in to boost atmosphere. Easy fix
  18. Since we've started taking the drum to away games, we've not caused one bit of bother. Really lame excuse. I know the security company just want an easy life on match days, and don't necessarily want a group of people standing up/singing - but at the end of the day we're only trying to help our team by giving vocal support. Even club captain McGinn said he's been enjoying the backing. Assuming the "incident" they refer to was the Motherwell fans who ended up kettled by our stadium security a few seasons back? If I remember rightly, that was caused by them letting off pyro, rather than the drum itself? Its not that I want to put anyone on blast, but every time we've approached the club about a singing section, or any kind of active support - they ask us for full names, addresses, contact details and customer account numbers of everyone involved.... As if we need to be on some sort of criminal watch list if we want to be located together and sing. Unsurpringly, most supporters don't want to give their private details to a security company. Saturday was ideal, "quote singing section when you buy your ticket". Why can't we do that at home? And why can't we have a drum? Surely someone at the club can see sense and get this sorted out.
  19. Best picture we've seen of it. Worked ok but some didn't bother waving their flags. We put 650 out! Seen a load of weans walking out happy with their flags so pleased with how it went overall!
  20. No reveal. But what we can tell you is that it involves lots of flags, and the design will show love for our club.
  21. Update - More than 600 flags have been attached to their sticks. - The "design" is being worked on, no hints given but it's looking good already (imo) - Motherwell have been sound as f*ck, and granted us early access, we'll be up at the crack of dawn to place the flags on seats, if you find one on your seat, you simply wave it as the teams come out. - Due to the amount spent and the good quality of the flags, we request that anyone who doesn't want to take their flag home as a keepsake, places it in one of the bags that will be near the exits at full time. We plan to donate plenty of them to the panda club to add a bit of colour to home games. - Our singing section has fully sold out, could have sold it out twice. Cooper stand should be pretty lively on the day! Come on ye Saints
  22. Move it to general nonsense That's what it is
  23. I remember one from another forum where someone said Jamie Langfield looked like Subway Ghost from ghost
  24. Jack Ross has won 11, drawn 5 and lost 11 since he came in. Most of those losses were a direct result of being left with Alex Rae's badly assembled & unbalanced squad. In our last 10 games, in all competitions - we've had 6 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses - 1 of those against Celtic. We should have beaten Dumbarton away, Dunfermline at home we were unlucky to draw - the Raith game at home was a poor loss. Our recent wins have came against the best team in Wales, and the 2 teams in our league with the highest wage budgets. From those stats alone, I reckon this thread should now be binned.
